My water heater went out, and Fidelity, my home warranty company selected this business. I was wary, since Fidelity has sent us sketchy companies in the past. But J&A actually had a live person answering the phone each time I called, who was well-informed and helpful. And Roger, the technician, was prompt, polite, and did a great job, which not only required replacing the heater but bringing everything up to code, including drilling a hole in the garage, etc. I'm very pleased with their work. read more

Hi - my master bathroom faucet burst! (installed by a different plumber only a few years ago) - and the old corroded shut off (angle stop) valve did not work. Called J&A to the rescue! J & A found replacement faucet to match in a tricky area, and they replaced it with an improved right angle shut off valve which works better and reliably! Technician Roger has been out several times, and always does a great job, and gives me helpful maintenance advice and tips as homeowner as well. And when I call the office, I always get a REAL helpful friendly person, not a VM. I usually get Isabelle or Delmy, both great friendly office persons - and I can honestly say I receive excellent professional service from office to house calls and recommend them - TY J&A! read more

My review echos the one a few below from Emily. I was forced to use this plumber due to Fidelity Home Warranty. They came out and told me the issue was not covered by the warranty. They quoted me the entire cost of job. I agreed to pay them this. They fixed the issue (backed up sewer line). Then they charged the warranty company $180 for the work they did, which they told me was NOT covered. When I contacted the warranty company, they told me they paid the portion of the work that WAS covered. So J&A charged me for the entire work, instead of the portion that was not covered. Then they charged the warranty company too. When I spoke with J&A Plumbing (Eileen the receptionist), she said the $180 was for them to come out to my property. The warranty people have confirmed twice that they paid them specifically for the work done at my property, not to just show up. I even have the documentation from J&A Plumbing showing they charged me for the entire job. And J&A Plumbing are still trying to deny this. And yes, Eileen is an awful person. Combative, horrible attitude, caught lying and then proceeded to double down on their lie. So if you are looking for a plumber - these are the last folks you will want to deal with. NOT trustworthy. NOT honest. NOT professional. do yourself a favor and just avoid them. read more

Similar to Scott and Emily's experiences below, we were given no plumber choices when it came to working with Fidelity National Home Warranty and regret wasting a warranty claim with their business. We submitted a warranty claim for a few issues, and the J&A plumber Jose seemed quite nice and helpful when he arrived on site to assess our issues, one of which included a newly leaky sink on the right side of our double vanity. He said he would write up the report which would determine if the issues were covered, and J&A Plumbing would call us to explain the report. They never called. A few days later, we received an automatic email from Fidelity stating that our warranty claim was denied. This was confusing to us because a newly leaking sink is one of the most common issues to be covered under a warranty claim. Fidelity explained the plumber Jose marked the left side of the sink because that's what our claim was for (it wasn't, I was never asked which side of the sink it was for prior to the plumber arriving). I explained to Fidelity that our original claim was for the right side, the only sink in our house that's actively leaking, which we reviewed very clearly with Jose in person. Fidelity said that the ticket is closed in their system, but we could pay to have a new warranty claim opened for a new plumber to look at the issue. I explained the ticket is essentially unfulfilled, because a mistake was made, and they insisted I had to go through J&A plumbing to dispute the denied claim because it was closed in the Fidelity system. Isabella, the not-very-resourceful phone receptionist from J&A plumbing, said they can't reopen a fulfilled ticket, which makes no sense because they didn't even fulfill the ticket in the first place. The report was for the wrong sink. Isabella insisted that the plumber called me to explain the report, which they never did and is a straight up lie. She also kept insisting the claim was for the left sink and that's what we showed the plumber (again, not true, she was not there). Avoid J&A plumbing at all costs, especially if you're working with Fidelity National Home Warranty. They are unaccountable and dishonest. read more

We have used J&A twice recently. They were sent by our home insurance company. We were very happy with both jobs they did (bathroom faucets and garbage disposal). Good communication, quick appointment available, knowledgeable, professional and neat. Glad to have found them, would definitely use again! read more

These guys were always professional and prompt. Jose, the plumber, had great suggestions and follow through. Mari, in the office, was always there to receive my calls and was friendly and motivated to help me. J&A helped diagnose a tricky leak in our front yard, fixed my pressure regulator - restoring full pressure to my house - and fixed the toilets after the pressure was back to normal. They came to my rescue after another plumbing company caused some of these issues (see my other reviews for those deets). I felt bad and great about calling J&A to fix these issues - bad because they were doing cleanup of another company, but great cause I trust J&A. A+ read more

J&A installed a new water heater after trying to repair it. It took an extra couple of days, not their fault. Both crews were professional and sensitive to us. Kept a very neat job and were very efficient and polite. I would recommend them anytime. I tried leaving a thank you message to the boss on their phone but was unsuccessful. The most incompetent service, ever. I was forced to use this company by Fidelity National Home Warranty Company and it was just so bad all around. Because of them Fidelity lost a customer. Eileen at the front desk is the most incompetent receptionist I've ever dealt with- if you say you're going to email a photo of a product replacement then do it! Don't lie and say you did because you're embarrassed. And if you are going to work with Fidelity then submit your work orders!!! Don't make the customer call both companies 3 times each. And again, don't lie about it and say you did when you clearly didn't, according to them. Jose showed up in response to a work order I submitted through my home warranty company. Turned out to be something that needs to be fixed by some different work we've been doing on our sewer lateral, but he then took the time to answer some other plumbing questions I had. He even did a quick walk around to see what other plumbing issues might need to be handled, which was so appreciated being a relatively new homeowner. He showed up wearing a mask, kept distanced as needed, and brought his own shoe covers which he painstakingly repeatedly took on/off for our indoor areas. So courteous and so helpful. read more

These guys did a good job on the re-piping but they were extremely inconsiderate of our flower beds. We even have a green bin for yard waste but they chose to dump all of the clay, rocks, and debris on top of our flowers and plants. I had to rip out our main bed and have to start over. That was very poor judgement. It's lazy and disrespectful. read more

Jose you are Awesome! Within a few hours of me calling, he was able to attend to our emergency. Our home water filtration system broke and it needed a special part that would take 3 days to receive. That means three days without water, and we have a two-year-old! He was able to create a solution for this special part that needed to be special ordered and then if this ever happened again we would still be able to have water! Jose, from J&A Plumbing is great. When my main sewer was plugged, he systematically tried to clear it. There were so many roots in it that his small machine would not clear it. We did not have an available main line clean-out so he had to dig up the front yard to get to the main sewer line and use his large machine. While he was doing the work he was friendly, unfrustrated, and gave great explanations as to what he was doing. At the end of the work, I had an operating sewer line and a clean-out for future issues. This was all done for what I considered a reasonable cost. A few weeks later I recommended Jose to a neighbor and he did a great job of replacing the main water shutoff and several hose bibs. He is excellent at his work and always cleans up when finished. I recommend Jose very highly. read more

They replaced a kitchen faucet and all seemed well. But a year and 1/4 later it became loose, twisting back and forth. They refuse to help, saying it's been too long. But I think a kitchen faucet should never become loose. It should not just stay in place for 90 days. I am not young, and I have never seen another kitchen faucet slide around, not even one that I installed myself at another house. They are both incompetent at a basic plumbing task and refuse to stand behind their work. So I recommend you stay away. read more

This is long overdue. I was introduced to J & A plumbing a few years ago through my AHS warranty. I've had them work on several plumbing issues at both my house and rental property. They are always timely and extremely efficient in solving the problem. They are just really good at their jobs and really honest! So, J&A installed our garbage disposal a while back and has unclogged a couple of drains. Recently we had more than one drain clogged and we got estimates to replace all our our drain pipes from J&A and another plumber. J&A's bid was lower and they did not pressure us in any way, unlike the other plumber. They did all the work in less than eight hours and added a guarantee. Consider this fair warning on this plumber. My insurance company sent them out to my house for a leak under my kitchen sink. Wall is soaking wet, buckling. They stay 5 minutes and say they can't do the work today, they have to call the insurance company. They promise they will come over the weekend or on Tuesday. No call to me. I call Tuesday morning for a time and Jose tells me that he will call back with a time in a few minutes. 2 hours later, I call and he says they can't come today how about Friday. I told him how frustrated I was and needed a time. He said he won't give me a time for Friday. I spoke to the insurance co, they talked to him and he said he won't work on my job because he didn't like my tone. Yes, my tone was stern as I stand her in water and he can't get here. They collected $75 for this 5 minutes and then won't do the work. Sleezy. read more

Referred through home warranty. I have a kitchen sink leak. Booked appointment directly through J/A plumbing. The soonest they could come out was 7 days. Which was unfortunate but I realize it's the week before a holiday, so I understand. I take the day off work for this appointment, no one shows up at the confirmed 8am appointment. I called them and they said nothing was on their schedule. Which is strange because I recieved a text message confirmation and email for today's appointment from them at the time of booking. Frustrating when you can't use your sink for a week, so they booked me again and the best they could do is another week out. Now I'm pretty upset, thinking they would want to make this right for not showing up the first time. I just thought if they truly cared about making a mistake, they would make this right. I understand accidents happen but I just felt like this was poor service. read more

J&A was on time and worked rather fast. However, could not get their invoice for my records and for any possible problems with their service. This has never happened to me with any other services. As all (reputable) companies always issue an invoice, J&A stubborn reluctance to do so is rather fishy. Horrible company, they don't return phone calls and they barely understand what they're doing.,

HORRIBLE company. sent by my American Home Shield warranty, AHW, to fix 2 toilets. After 3 visits, I got approval to replace them BUT Jose, the owner, had told me to pay $200 for installation for toilets 2" taller because his profits weren't high enough. I decided instead to get a simple replacement for a white Kohler toilet. Later, his Assistant called & told me to pay $200 per toilet. I reminded her -no- we selected the normal size white Kohler, and the warranty company paid for that in full. She was obviously talking to Jose in the background. I called the Warranty Company to report this obvious unethical behavior, but when they called Jose, he lied and said I had asked for the taller models. So then they agreed to do the work using the direct replacement model, but then Jose's Asst called to tell me I needed to pay $165 IN ADVANCE per toilet. For what? She couldn't answer. Then the warranty company called them, and Jose lied and told them I'd asked for a COLORED toilet. More lies! I sit here now with two broken toilets because I don't trust Jose to do this job properly or ethically, and AHS Warranty won't send in another plumber unless I pay more service fees.
