We're out in the redwoods, and waste lines and septics can have a host of issues that more urban households won't experience. In our case it was a large cypress tree growing (until very recently cut down) a couple of feet from the septic tank inlet, combined with a very full septic tank that another service had just cleaned out successfully, but we were still backed up. Greg and Jacob got to work on the problem, approached it creatively from a few angles, and managed to get to all the root blockage between the tank and the house, and get everything working right. I had another plumbing emergency, when we suddenly lost all water pressure . I called Greg and he was out here the same day and figured out our main water line near the street had burst. He was out the next day to finish it (he offered to do it same-day, but we were fine waiting until the morning) and got everything fixed up. A few days later, we had another issue with our shower, that they were able to fix the next day. I called Greg when our washer backed up into a nearby toilet. When I explained the problem he came over immediately. I managed to plunge it before he showed up. Whatever the clog was it, it appeared to have been flushed through. HOWEVER - Greg still spent time here. He tested several times (no clog) and checked the clean out. I give One star as Greg replaced a valve on a copper line in the basement but it still leaked after his work. I called and never got a reply back to fix what he installed so I just gave up and found a local plumber more reliable. I can understand people can make mistakes but to not stand behind your work and fix it then I will never use this service again. I would not recommend him for plumbing in the country as he was not familiar with the tank and pump system as he apparently just works on city water plumbing. I have been struggling with a drain in the kitchen with an island sink. I have tried everything myself as well as a few other sewer companies. It would last about 90 days and it was back. I had another plumbing need recently at my rental unit in Cotati, and called Greg at Redwood Sewer and Drain. The electric water heater was not working, and my tenants did not have any hot water, so I wanted to get that resolved quickly. Greg was able to fit a visit into his busy day to see what was going on. He was good to set our expectations about that it may not be resolved very quickly, depending on what the issue was. And, our unit was more complicated due to having old connections on it from a solar water heater panel it used to work with. Greg checked it everything he could and could not quite pinpoint why it was not getting power since he is not an electrician. But he was able to connect me with a good handyman he knew and they together found a problematic timer in the system and changed the wiring to solve the issue - and then immediately the tenants had their water heater back up and running! I appreciate Greg's quick response, his ability to set expectations and give rough pricing options and to help lead us to a resolution.
