While this National Rental Car doesn't have an Emerald Aisle, they do have Anne Marie, who will get you your car quickly. This is the first time we rented a Hyundai Santa Fe which was new and clean and nice and big enough. Thank you, Anne Marie, for the gracious service!

It was obvious that whoever had the car before had been eating in the car. I went back inside and they offered another car but the computers were down and there was a line at this point so it was going to be a few minutes. Instead I asked if they could provide a disinfecting wipe so that I could clean the car myself. After that incident the car was fantastic. However, it was very disappointing to find the car so messy and dirty in the first place.

I made a reservation through my company's perk website/agreement with them on my phone (FOR EASE) only to go to the counter and have Alfredo not be able to find it. This always happens at ERAC even when I use them just to get my car repaired which is super irritating. The manager (who's info you can see in my photo) could see I was getting frustrated and came in to handle the situation. Alfredo was going to charge me $150 more than my reservation and didn't have my information input correctly. (Seeing I was dropping off at another location this was very important.) The manager upgraded me to a vehicle ready then and one of the female coworkers assured me and gave me a piece of paper with his information and said to call if I needed anything. I guess they partner with National Rental as well because when a call was made to extend my rental as they we're informed could be expected, I got no one. Waited almost 10 minutes at an empty desk before the Enterprise employee said she could help us…read more Stood in line 30 minutes for them to tell my mother, WHO IS A US CITIZEN WITH A US PASSPORT, she could not rent although she had a UK driver's license, insurance, and again, a US Passport. They said they required a Visa. You can NOT get a Visa from the UK when you're a US citizen. Period. CAN NOT. We pulled up the embassy website to show them. She's rented many times in Texas before since her move overseas without this issue. The employee called her area manager who agreed with her. We then called the customer service and spoke to a higher manager who said ALAMO AT CORPUS CHRISTI AIRPORT IS INCORRECT AND WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE CAR. They are forwarding this issue to internal support and should be calling us this week once this is resolved with the local management in order for us to finally, maybe, pick up a car.

When my charge was almost twice as much as I was expecting I was thrown into a verbal judo. He was Chuck Norris and I was Johnny from the Karate Kid. I was no match. I didn't have the time to argue so I paid. Basically because I initialed by the charge, I was charged. I thought I was told I was signing because I was declining the coverage. I hope it helps them get their bonus, but I will never use Alamo again.

Thrifty Car Rental was an incredibly frustrating experience. I reserved a vehicle in advance,…read morearrived after a long day of travel, and was told they had no cars available in the class I booked. Instead, they tried to push me into a larger vehicle for nearly $400 more than my reservation price. I even asked about smaller vehicle options, but was still told they would charge more and would not honor the original reservation rate. At that point, after traveling all day, I was essentially forced to go from rental counter to rental counter trying to find transportation just to salvage the start of my vacation. It's ridiculous that rental car companies can accept reservations without guaranteeing the vehicle or honoring the agreed-upon pricing. This industry desperately needs stronger consumer protections and accountability. A reservation should actually mean something. Overall, this was a stressful, disappointing, and unacceptable customer experience.
