Most recently a ¾ ton truck for a trip out and back to Oregon and then for a Jeep while we were down in Vegas. Both experiences were great. I have always had good experiences with Enterprise and why I decided to become a member. That was until this past week. I booked a rental online for the Missoula location at 3309 W. Broadway St. I booked this online on 5/22 for the following week. A 3-day rental starting on Thursday the 28th- Sunday the 31st. I received my confirmation email on 5/23 and confirmation #2113713518. All was good, or so I thought, until I arrived. We had just completed the 1hr 20 min drive from our home in Plains to pick this rental up. We had planned to rent a larger car for our trip down to UT. This way everyone would be more comfortable, since our larger vehicle was in the shop. However, when we got there, not only did they not have a vehicle for my reservation, but they had no vehicles at all. No call, Text, or even an email letting us know they had no vehicles. I simply got to the counter and was told, I'm sorry we have no vehicles. I'm sorry. I told him that we had just driven in from 90 minutes away to pick this car up and he simply said I'm sorry there is nothing we can do. I said what about my confirmation only to be told we have no vehicles. He was right their lot was bare. I didn't have time to push for a solution since in my mind this was a breach of contract since they had sent me a confirmation number. And I didn't want to argue back and forth. I just turned to leave as he said, "Sorry" again. I just replied "Whatever" in frustration. I think this is exactly what he was hoping for as he then canceled my confirmation out of their system. Terrible customer service and terrible communication. I get things can go wrong, and I get that it may not have been this person's fault. But "Sorry" doesn't cover the inconvenience caused and the hardship of not honoring the confirmation of the rental agreement. I went from Hero Dad to a big Zero dad as I got to try to explain to my kids why you couldn't keep your end of the agreement and why you didn't even have the courtesy of calling/texting to let us know. We then proceeded on our trip in a cramped vehicle we weren't planning on traveling that far in. Not Cool Enterprise! I don't plan on coming back until your competitors find a way to lose my business. I know, no big loss, I'm just one customer of thousands. This is why I decided to share my disappointment with others. I'm just 1 insignificant customer in your world.

It took days to finally get a working car and a lot of incredibly rude treatment along with it. WOW, just wow, how do these folks stay in business? I will never use Enterprise in Missoula again. ZERO stars!

They don't have cars available. They keep telling people it will be 30-45 minutes before they get out of the car wash. They keep switching people into cars they don't want or upcharging them for available cars. As a Executive Elite, they wanted to charge me extra for the only available car. And it was only available because someone just dropped the keys on the desk. I cannot say enough bad things about the customer service, quality of interaction, and speed to get on the road. What did I learn today? (Arm raised to the square, like I am to testify) I, Ryan Cleland, hereby promise to never ever, ever never, NEVER EVER, rent a car from National Car in Missoula ever again. I recommend you make the same promise.

    I don't think they understand what "reservation" means. There's probably 20 groups queued up…read morewaiting for cars. Been waiting for over an hour now and still 6 groups ahead of me. I've never experienced anything like it in many years of traveling. The people behind the counter are spectacularly disengaged. Moving slow. No urgency. No apparent concern. No ownership of this colossal screw up. Seeing the reviews for this outfit indicates it's not a one time thing either. How on Earth does National allow this to continue without fixing it???
