As part of their fund-raising efforts, they run numerous ARC Resale locations where they resell donated goods and it's the Avon Park resale location that I'm reviewing today. My mother recently passed away and I had a need to donate a great deal of stuff she had accumulated over 94 years of life. I chose these folks Arriving- It's right on Main Street about a minute from US Route 27 and it's a snap to find. Parking is simple. Donating- Easy peasy! The customer service folks explained clearly what they could take and why they didn't except certain items. It was painless and quick. Shopping- Let's assume you've been to other places that sell donations. This place is clean and organized like the competitors. The staff is just fine. Pricing- Unfortunately I'm deducting One star as they seem to price higher than all the competitors. They make up for that a bit by having selected days with discounts like Seniors Day etc. However, the standard pricing, in my opinion, needs to be adjusted. Conclusion- Even with the pricing blip this is a fine organization doing good work and the store is worth a look, especially on discounted days!

But wait, this is a gas station review! Read on. Walmart is in bed with Murphy's. You can see them in front of hundreds of Walmart's. How do you take advantage of this? Double-Dip #1- Assuming you patronize Walmart, buy yourself a membership. It will cost you less than $100 and comes with tons of perks including gas discounts at Murphy's. How do you get the $? You tell the gas pump you are Walmart member by scanning a QRC code or punching in a code available on the Walmart app. See my picture. Double-Dip 2- Walmart is also in bed with Capital One. Get yourself a Walmart credit card. It has no fee. Pay for your gas with this card. So how much can you get Steven B? Depending on the deals going on I get at least 10 cents a gallon and sometimes up to 15! This can really add up over a year to some serous $$! Note, I believe the amounts might vary by state. Germany comes to my little town!…read more Grand Opening on May 1st and jam packed from day #1. This is one of the Winn-Dixie remodels. Some locals are annoyed because the Winn-Dixie had a pharmacy and a liquor store and those are now gone. However, most folks are just thrilled to have them close by! Arriving- They are the anchor of a plaza directly on US Route 27 South. As part of the remodel the entire plaza was repaved, so everything looks great and there is plenty of parking. There is a drive-up ATM in the middle of the parking lot. Very convenient! Ambience- Is there anything different between this one and all the others? I have experienced three other Aldi's. I was surprised to see this one has the carts inside. Oher than that, it looks the same as all the others but maybe a little bigger than some. Customer Service- They had a soft opening a week earlier to give the employees time to train. They are generally fine but need a little more seasoning! Selection- As expected for a discount store, the variety is less than a typical supermarket. I suggest you download the app. It does a nice job of showing you the weekly sale items. Conclusion- If the location is convenient for you, an Aldi is a great place to put on your weekly rotation to snap up some sales.
