It is truly a fantastic regional supermarket chain. Again, I love their local items and I think that that alone is worth a trip to Rouses Market. Unfortunately, today I am writing for sub par customer service. This is due to the fact that it wasn't for just today but a pattern of continuous less than expected customer service. Today I approached customer service located in the Rouse's on Airline Drive. There were two employees chatting. One stood outside of the counter and the other behind the counter just standing there. Before I was even able to get a word out to state what I needed I was ordered by the employee behind the counter with a less than approachable disposition to check out over there. She pointed to the express lane as I had a small basket with a few items in it. I replied with okay but I do need to get quarters at which time a man I assume worked in the back office said that he would check. This isn't the first time that I have dealt with a less than desirable situation at this Rouse's. The first time was when a customer was checking out with a large size basket filled to the brim and I was waiting. She started chastising me for saying excuse me is there anyway I could get some quarters real quick. The customer proceeded to scream and curse at me and while the customer service employee didn't curse at me she chimed in with the customer. All that needed to be said was as soon as I finish with this customer or even better alert the employee that handles it in the back. I guess the lesson is to take my business to Breaux Mart or Zuppardo's as I always feel welcome and my business is appreciated. :)
