I told the employee who was monitoring the area and she got Roxanne, the floor manager of the day. Roxanne said that this was my problem and I'd have to call Walmart Tech Support. What the hell? My problem. Then she told me that I had not paid for the $35 bag of dog food and to pay again, which I did. I got to my truck and called my credit card company. They confirmed that I had paid twice. I went back in the store with the credit card agent on the phone. I found Roxanne and told her she could speak with them to confirm that I had paid twice. She declined and took off running across the store, back to the service desk. I followed her and told her that I would dispute the charges. She then said that she'd give my $35 back via a refund. When I called to speak with the manager to report what had happened Roxanne got on the line and pretended to be her own manager. What?! I hung up on her and called again. This time I got someone above Roxanne who said that she would be pulled into an office for a retraining meeting today. The manager was apologetic and seemed aghast by what i relayed to him. I have shopped at this store in Watkins Glen for 15 years and have never had a problem. This was bad. This Roxanne person needs to be retrained or fired. All of this was unnecessary. That's what I get for telling an employee that their machine wasn't working and was sending electronic receipts to the worng customer. Leaves a bad taste in one's mouth!!

If you are a tourist and are a little overwhelmed by all the different farms, vineyards, and…read morerestaurants in the area and are unsure where to start, Check this place out!!! They sell groceries, cheeses, meats, snacks, bread, coffee, and awesome swag, all from local farms, and restaurants, and businesses in the area. Plus the owners are at cash register with their little baby, happy to help guide you to their favorites. They grew up in Burdett and can give some great advice on where the cool hangout spots are. This is also the spot if you want to have an evening in or pack a picnic to take to the lake stuffed with amazing goodness from the local farms I am a "Part-time" local and today was my first day popping in. I wanted to stay in tonight but still have a delicious local meal. I bought a bag of Polenta from Farmer Ground. (Trumansburg) Chèvre garlic and pepper from Lively run goat dairy. (Interlaken) Chilled Mediterranean quinoa salad (Stonecat Cafe in Hector NY) and frozen Garlic bratwurst (packed by Timberland Meats (Dundee) farm fresh asparagus, and chocolate milk from (Sunset view creamery) They have great shaded parking, and I was able to pull in on a nice windy day and leave my dog in the car with the windows down. I ran into a couple of other locals that I knew and struck up a pleasant conversation. They have picnic table out front, so you can buy your farmdelicious foods and eat them out side and enjoy the day. Locals and tourists alike, we're hanging out at the picnic tables, having fun. Their decor is so cute. Perfect country store vibe, with a granola and wine twist. It's nice to see a small family business connecting locals farms and community through the food they carry. Today was an extra bonus day, because Nickels BBQ food truck was parked in lot, their BB sauce is also sold inside Burdett exchange, if you want your own bottled sauce. After I cashed out with ny groceries. I popped over to them for a brisket sandwich, coleslaw, and fries. If you're lucky enough to see them there when you pop over, highly recommend giving them a try, delicious and I will review them separately. This place is downtown burdett 3 simple streets from Route 414 and is a must try, and grab some gifts for your friends while you're there. Now my biggest decision today is what wine to pair with my dinner in tonight. Lol

A fourth generation dairy farm that excels in cheese and ice cream. We tried the 8 flight. 4 cheeses 4 ice creams. All were delicious. I tried the peach habernero Quark and immediately needed to buy one in the case. Its a super protein and so creamy. I can't wait to pair it with celery sticks for a nice snack. They offer a few coffee drinks as well. I ordered a caramel Americano. Next time I am in the area I will definitely come by again!

Such a fun experience!…read more So many fun flavors of icecream and different cheeses! Not to mention the adorable cows!! We tried the flight of 8-- 5 icecreams and 3 cheeses. For icecream we tasted the purple cow, peach cobbler, cookies and cream, black cherry chocolate, and the coffee heath crunch. My favorite was the coffee flavor- unlike other coffee icecreams I've had, this coffee had a much more robust and richer flavor profile. I liked cookies and cram-- always a classic. The cherry flavor was a tad too artificial for my liking. Purple cow was fine- very similar to the Cornell Dairy flavor- both are good though! I liked the peach cobbler flavor though wish there were more of the mix-ins. For cheeses, we tasted the butter garlic cheddar curds, the signature Summit Cheddar, and the plain quark. The garlic cheddar curds were so good, I took a bag home with me! Summit cheddar had a nice nutty flavor, not too 'sharp' though. The quark was interesting... it had a rather mild flavor and interesting texture (similar to boursin). I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it. I also took home a bag of the tomato basil cheese curds which I didn't like as much as the garlic ones. The tomato ones had a very subtle flavor-- too subtle. There was a line when we got there though it moves relatively quickly and is definitely worth the wait! Overall, I had so much fun picking out so many icecreams and cheeses to taste as well as seeing the cows! I would highly recommend Shtayburne Farm!

The aisles are clean and well stocked. They have a good variety of products. Some things you would not expect to see! For example I have seen dairy free cheese shreds, gluten free crackers, and 647 bread (which is a brand I can usually only find at Wegmans). Their prices of course are one of the best things about shopping here - lately I've been keeping an eye on the ridiculous up and down of things like eggs, and Aldi is almost always the cheapest place to buy them. Employees here are friendly and helpful. If you haven't been to an Aldi store yet then I would highly recommend, and if you have and already know what to expect, this location will not let you down!

If someone who doesn't look older uses self checkout the cashier named Rebecca (shown below with manager Devon) will use her ageist profiling and accuse them of stealing which I witnessed first hand today. Today I witnessed Rebecca stop working her own register (which was loaded with people) to stare at and watch a customer at self checkout. She then proceeded to ask the customer if they scanned their items, ultimately accusing them of stealing. When the customer responds "Yes would you like to come check?" The cashier, Rebecca, declined to check. When the customer was done shopping and went to their car Devon the manager came out claiming Rebecca had sent him and claimed a customer was yelling in her face. Devon waited for the customer to return their cart and then proceeded to go to the customers car and attempted to intimidate the customer. The fact the employees made such a scary experience for someone and then acted like some sort of body guard when the customer was clearly open and willing to have Rebecca come check just shows how this cult of an Aldi functions. I also witnessed several older generation customers using self check out. All of which were not asked if they scanned their items as Rebecca targeted a young adult just trying to do his job and then sent her manager to attack him in the parking lot when she was unsatisfied with her own bullying. I've shopped here a few times as an Instacart Delivery Employee and have not had a problem with this store until today. Employees make or break the experience I guess. Side note: as always with Aldi they have one person working the register with a line of 20people

We both had a cup of Potato and Ham soup, and split a BLT. It was delicious, very fresh. Not skimpy on the bacon...at all. The sandwich was perfectly distributed. Much larger than I anticipated. Made with their local bacon and tomatoes. Loved the atmosphere, the cafe had a cozy vibe. We were seated next to the gas fireplace. We had enough privacy to talk, noise level was normal. Order your food at the counter, collect your condiments, napkins, and Salt pepper shakers at long counter. Then sit down and enjoy yourself, until they bring it out. Service was very quick. After we cleaned up our plates and table. They have a place for you to put your dirty dishes and cups, along with trash, and recycling. Then we went into the bulk grocery part to look around. We both ended up buying sweet treats for later. I bought a cherry fry pie. It was super fresh and tasty. I enjoyed it with my evening herbal tea. I also bought some rice and a few other staples. I will definitely be back for a 2nd trip. They have a lot going on. The place was super clean. Items easy to find. It's not all bulk, they have their items from small to bulk, so if you are in a 1 or 2 person household, do not let the bulk in their name scare you off.
