Went here for the first time, with my mother. It's a bit of a drive for us coming from Hector, but it's an easy pretty drive. We ate at their cafe. We both had a cup of Potato and Ham soup, and split a BLT. It was delicious, very fresh. Not skimpy on the bacon...at all. The sandwich was perfectly distributed. Much larger than I anticipated. Made with their local bacon and tomatoes. Loved the atmosphere, the cafe had a cozy vibe. We were seated next to the gas fireplace. We had enough privacy to talk, noise level was normal. Order your food at the counter, collect your condiments, napkins, and Salt pepper shakers at long counter. Then sit down and enjoy yourself, until they bring it out. Service was very quick. After we cleaned up our plates and table. They have a place for you to put your dirty dishes and cups, along with trash, and recycling. Then we went into the bulk grocery part to look around. We both ended up buying sweet treats for later. I bought a cherry fry pie. It was super fresh and tasty. I enjoyed it with my evening herbal tea. I also bought some rice and a few other staples. I will definitely be back for a 2nd trip. They have a lot going on. The place was super clean. Items easy to find. It's not all bulk, they have their items from small to bulk, so if you are in a 1 or 2 person household, do not let the bulk in their name scare you off. I'm not one of those people that cleverly brings a cooler and transports perishable items 300 miles. I would actually make this store a centerpiece of a future vacation. The variety of sauces, jerkies and cheese was head-spinning. No ham salad for me this time. Oak Leaf Cafe has a separate listing but I'll mention it here. I enjoyed the breakfast panini with sandwich. Completely unexpected was the sign at a separate building advertising a chicken and pork barbecue every Saturday! (I assume it's seasonal so probably don't drive too far in December based on this review). I live in Rochester and go out of my way to make a trip to Oak Hill once or twice a year to stock up on our favorite canned goods and baking supplies! I am always impressed by the quality and variety when I go and somehow I always leave with a product that was being sampled as well! The cafe next door makes this place even better. Stopped for lunch. I never have a bad experience when I'm in town and pop in. The service is always amazing and today was no exception. Mine and my husband's food was good. I had ordered a Caesar salad for my dad. There was no description of the salads but I went with what I know he likes. The salad was only lettuce and a ton of olives. No croutons, or eggs, or Parmesan cheese as normally found in a Caesar salad. Everything else was great, I was just disappointed in the Caesar salad not really being a Caesar salad. read more

A fun outing! We visited here and did some grocery shopping one day and came back for lunch the next day (and more shopping, of course). The kids were so excited to be in a store (COVID times) and there was so much to see that they were literally running up and down the aisles as I tried to calm them down (sorry, other customers). They have allll kinds of bulk food items, fresh produce, deli, baked goods, cheeses, prepared foods, gifts, and of course their cafe. I enjoyed the ham and potato soup and some cole slaw--my husband and I agreed that it was some of the best cole slaw we had in a long time! The soup was tasty. The rest of the clan got wraps (huge! Fresh!) and grilled cheese. When you visit the cafe, pick up a menu when you walk in because there is a lot more to offer than just on their display board. This is a large store with a cafe, deli, lots of baked goods, a frozen foods section, and a large array of dry goods, including bulk grains and kitchen necessities. Great choices, variable organic or not organic items. What's disappointing is their food, spices, coffees, teas have tripled and keep rising annually. It's no longer a find, other Mennonite owned locations are comparable quality and less cost. Produce is often purchased at the farmers auction on Wednesdays. Go there, buy bulk n share cost with neighbors. My experience is that you Indian and/or Mediterranean spices are far less expensive. read more

Best find in the Keuka Lake area by far! We looked online for a place to go to breakfast with the family and discovered Oak Hill. And what I discover it was. The restaurant side offered a wonderful selection of breakfast sandwiches and other items including homemade muffins and cakes and so much more. The prices were incredibly inexpensive. The egg sandwiches we ordered were huge! We could have shared one easily. But then unexpectedly we found the Marketside which was more impressive! Quality locally grown items, fresh cut meats, several bulk items, prepared foods as well! I could go on and on. You can find anything you need in this unique supermarket that is run by the Amish! I'm so blow away by this place!!!! They have a playground for kids. An incredible cafe for breakfast. Opens at 7 am during week. They have bulk food. Chips. Candies. Spices. It's an absolutely incredible gem. They're so kind. Prices are SO RIGHT. my kids loved this place. Their bakery area is also amazing. Everything so fresh. We were excited to go, because our friends mentioned to us how wonderful this place is, but I am afraid this place was overhyped to us. We ordered: The breakfast sandwich. The bread was already a bit stale, so that's why it was being served toasted. The ham was fine. The eggs were a bit rubbery. The Greek wrap - the wrap was served cut in half, but they put too much feta cheese inside, so I was unable to taste anything besides the feta and the cucumbers. Their specialty coffee whites chocolate frappe was delicious, however. All in all a mixed bag. We expected more. read more

Who knew that this place was so popular? We stopped in on our way to visit friends on Keuka Lake. We had used the Oak Hill products but had never been to the actual store. It was Saturday around noon and you would have thought they were giving away free products! The parking lot and the store itself were a zoo. This is one interesting place especially if you are into baking because I saw all kinds of raw materials for baking and cooking that you don't see in your average grocery store. It is worth stopping in just to browse and I guarantee you will walk out with some purchases you did not intend to make. This Mennonite run operation is really different. read more

This place is operating with the covid guidelines. We stop in at least every 2 weeks to get produce, potato salad. In the warm weather they have BBQ chicken options which are good for dinner. You can get just chicken, a 1/2 chicken, coleslaw, salted potatoes. Then go inside and get dessert, shop have lunch and buy your groceries for the week. This place is an absolute gem. The employees all seem happy to be there, and the food is about the best you'll find, at amazingly reasonable prices. For the purposes of full disclosure, I'm writing this review mostly on behalf of my wife, sister-in-law and mother-in-law who all LOVE this place. We all live out state now, but whenever we're in town, this is a must go to store. Oak Hill is a Mennonite operated grocery store which carries a wide variety of baked goods, grains, cheeses and some meats. The store is small compared to your average marketplace, but the building itself is very neat, clean and organized. If you're looking for any baked goods or baking materials, this your place. They also have a huge selection of cheese which I appreciate. My 3-year old son was kind enough to throw 3 or 4 things in the cart that went unnoticed until we got home and realized we had paid for High Gluten Bread Mix, homemade gummy bears and some peanut-butter fudge! read more
