I'm always singing the praises of Cash Saver, and how much money I save there. When they first…read moreopened two years ago, I did a comparison shopping trip, buying first at Cash Saver, and then getting the exact same items at Hy-Vee, and seeing the difference in my total. I saved 60% on my total bill shopping at Cash Saver, even factoring in the 10% to the total that Cash Saver adds. I decided (on a whim, and just for fun) to try this little experiment again. The only thing Cash Saver had that wasn't available at Hy-Vee was egg nog. I substituted egg nog (1.96) for eggs at Hy-Vee (1.99). Otherwise, the Best Choice store brand was switched to the Hy-Vee store brand, national brands stayed the same. Here is my total: 34 items, Cash Saver 63.85 34 items, Hy-Vee 128.35 -0.03 for egg nog THIS IS A TOTAL SAVINGS OF 64.47! And, that is also accounting for the 10% added to the total. I have never had an issue finding what I need here. I love this store. Before you dismiss it, learn your way around the store. At least try getting your staples here. Sometimes I see expired products, just let the manager know.Its because not a lot of people are shopping here, and that's a shame.

I've bought everything here from candy, laser pointers, phone cases, Halloween costumes, cat food, energy drinks, toys, sun glasses, coloring books, batteries, toiletries and the list goes on and on. They even have a little grocery section with frozen foods and canned goods and lots of other stuff. I have not been brave enough to buy dollar steaks although I did see they've had them before! The workers are always real friendly. Maybe not that knowledgeable on the countless products they carry, but I don't expect that anyway from a shop like this. Give me a smile and check me out when I'm ready and you're good as gold in my book. I ain't picky :). The thing I absolutely love the most about this store is I can give each of my kids a $5 dollar bill and set them free and they will have an absolute hay day looking over all the toys and electronics and other stuff and each come away with five different things and big smiles on the face. Now that's what it's all about for me. So cheap, but those smiles are priceless and I love it! All in all that's the main reason I come here. Very budget friendly and a fun little reward for the kids once in a while. It's great for that.

I thought the produce was arranged in a good fashion and it was all quite fresh looking. The aisles seem to make sense and there's good flow for customers. Of course the winner at any Fareway is the meat counter! The items we got here were great and we managed to pick a few more while just standing there, including jalapeño poppers, stuffed sweet peppers and more! Every employee we encountered was friendly and helpful. Don't come here expecting to get absolutely everything on your list, but when it comes to the grocery side of things, this place has a great selection. We'll be coming back to this Fareway frequently.

First they have a beautiful display of flowers in their window. Inside you'll find the friendliest staff who are well versed on their products. They have a wide array of fruits, soups, canned and other goods. There is a nice selection in the refrigeration and freezer area too. I came in search of one thing but walked out with a bag full of things, some new, some I've had before. I found some things I haven't seen other places in town. I'll be back next week to take another taste of the Himalayas home with me!
