The glassware is also eye-catching. The Co-Op is three stories of antiquey goodness. While the furniture is extraordinary, someone always beats me to the punch. They's always a sold sign on each beautiful piece. The Co-Op mostly has glassware, but this is definately a place to check out if you're into antiques. I've found a few vintage instructional manuals that have come in handy. There are a few drawbacks to the Ransomville Co-Op. The first being is that they are not consistently opened. I have dropped by many times only to find a sign saying that they'll "be back soon." Now I always call ahead to make sure someone is there. Another thing that bothers me are the posters strung up around the Co-Op. I think one "you break it, you bought it" sign should suffice. Or even one in each corner. There just seems to be a lot of them. But overall, this is a nice place.

I needed movers quickly for a few pieces of furniture that had to be moved to a couple of…read moreaddresses, very close to the original location. I think I found Gem Movers on Craigslist. They showed up late. Did the job, but required $200 cash deposit up front, which was not what we had discussed on the phone. But OK. They were well prepared with plastic wrap for the furniture, and accommodated my request to carry the marble table tops separately. They charged me an extra $50 for the extra stop and unload of part of the furniture. That seems to be pretty standard. They got the whole thing done in a reasonable amount of time. I called Tony, the owner, the next day, asking for a copy of the bill. He said he'd text it to me, but he didn't. I called back with another move request, but it wasn't a straightforward A to B move. It was like this: load the truck with the furniture; move the truck to a specific location, and have people come to retrieve the contents of the truck at specific pickup times. The whole thing would have taken 4 hours. He claimed he couldn't hear me, that his phone was giving him trouble. He would call me back. He didn't. Despite the fairly good work of his movers, I wouldn't use Gem Movers again, and I cannot recommend them.

Canadian treats, food, chips and the like. We usually come in here to pick up postcards, Ketchup Chips and they carry Presidents Choice Products.
