Technically, it's not in Marfa at all but rather in Valentine, Texas about an hour from Marfa. Artists Ingar Dragset and Michael Elmgreen created it in 2005 and the items inside the store are from the 2005 Prada collection. It's meant to be a stab at art and the all-consuming need to spend. You cannot enter the building. This landmark is considered a museum. Fencing around the museum contains locks left by visitors. This iconic installation is a must-see. Literal roadside attraction in the middle of the desert.

Prada Marfa is one of those stops that's way more impactful in person than it looks online. The building is very neat rustic blue front with diamond cut windows. Rosenda's gift shop is a great place to find crystals at a very affordable price for rock hounds. I found a gorgeous amethyst crystal, rose quartz and pyrite to take home as gifts. The owner is the sweetest woman you will ever meet and gave me a small quartz crystal to keep in my pocket for good luck. She also sells balloons and custom gift baskets. This place is cash only so come ready with cash to spend because you will find something you will want to take home for yourself or a loved one.
