Just now returned from the Rulers store 1703 N Belt W Belleville IL. The cashier - Milira -…read moreliterally threw my change at me. There was no question about it. She threw it down on the small space next to the credit card machine directly in front of me. What did I do? I irritated her because I turned my hand when she went to hand me the receipt. I wasn't snippy. I wasn't rude. I didn't have Attitude. I just moved my hand to indicate that I didn't want the receipt and put it back for the change. Instead of putting it in my hand she threw it. And, good ole Wayne, the Asst Manager. Did NOTHING. He was on the 2nd register. I took 3 steps toward him and asked if he was a manager. He said he was an Asst Mgr. I said the cashier just threw my change at me. He did nothing. Said nothing. Just continued to check out groceries. So, I asked him, "Are you going to do anything?" He finally responded with, "I'll talk to her." Well, I won't hold my breath! Since I was convinced I would not get satisfaction from the store I am at least posting a review to let other shoppers know what kind of customer service this place offers. The reason this infuriated me was because I stopped weekly shopping in this store 4-5 months ago. I have been in there for 1 or 2 items twice since then. The reason is an employee Dawn told me that "if I didn't like the store, there are other places that I could go." So I have been going to Aldi's. The manager, a very thin, very young dark haired man, was again on another register. Witnessed the incident and again did NOTHING. Trisha, another manager, asked me to write up the incident and send it to corporate and to her. After a few days I chose to move on to Aldi's. The incident with Dawn was disgusting in itself and now a few months later Milira throws the change. I don't have this issue in other retail establishments. What in the world kind of hiring practices do they employ? How are they even still in business?

After voicing our concerns, we decided she explained how they operated differently than the Ashley stores themselves. If you are looking for furntiture, give them a chance. They a privately owned small business. They also have more in their warehouse or can order some items online. They have been there 11 years which surprised me because I honestly had not heard of them.

I live minutes from the Chesterfield one but here we are. At first glance it's like if a 5 Below and a dollar store had a baby. I'd say the main sections are Health & Beauty, Cleaning Supplies, Candy & Snacks, Crafts, and Home Décor. There are other items sprinkled in like toys and pool floats! It's really a bizarre collection of items. The employees were friendly. I imagine they were there to stock the shelves because the store has self-checkout where you don't even interact with the employees. I found this enjoyable but I can't say I'd rush back unless I had some kids with me and wanted to buy them useless cheap stuff.

I prefer the dollar tree in belleville next to target, it has better stuff and is much cleaner with more isle room.
