CHEAP TRICKS Decorating for Halloween can be expensive, but what've you got to lose when everything's $1? When we relocated to Bolingbrook, this effectively became 'our Dollar Tree'. It sits in the same strip mall as Best Buy and ALDI, in the northwest corner of Boughton & Weber. My wife is well acquainted with the bargains here and I'm slowly coming to the realization that not all seasonal decor has to be bought from Wayfair/Amazon/Spirit. The staff here have been much nicer than at other Dollar Trees, checkout is relatively fast (thanks to multiple open registers), and the store isn't a messy disaster like at so many other discount stores. On a trip in early September, we found a 5pk of plastic party syringes, glitter pumpkins, a skeleton bird, and creepy shotglasses. Supply of the really cool stuff goes quickly, so if you see something you like, don't hesitate to buy it. Remember: it's only a buck! Once in a while you'll gamble on a purchase and wind up with junk. Point in case: I'm not sure what I expected from a 99¢ box of orange twinkle lights, but it said "over 5ft!" on the package and when I took them out, almost half the strand was empty wire. It only had the male end of the plug, so connecting them end-to-end wasn't possible, either. Win some lose some, I guess. * TL;DR * Might this be the highest-rated Dollar Tree in the Chicago suburbs?? Public opinion seems to think so. Over the last few years, I'd spent a lot (too much, really) on lighting, animatronics and F/X for a holiday I barely got to enjoy. Being a homeowner is making me wiser, thankfully; I'm learning not to overpay for disposable party goods and other single-use items like outdoor cobwebs. So long as the quality is decent, I'm all for bargain hunting. Even if some of the products are lame, the good deals far outweigh the ripoffs. Don't do anything stupid like buy scallops or dairy at the Dollar Tree -- stick with your known commodities like sour gumballs, slim jims, greeting cards and gift bags. read more

Who doesn't love the Dollar Tree Stores? There's always something to find. They carry lots of outdoor items which works good for the holidays. The cashiers are fast and get you in and out of the store quickly. Some items are obviously not worth a dollar, but a majority are worth it. read more

So I had purchased too many Easter items for an event that I was putting on. So the day after Easter I come back in to return them. I'm told that I can't return I can only do an exchange and for me to come back when I need items. So I came back when I needed items. Tonight. The actual woman. The manager. Who told me this in the first place was responding to the call for a manager. She said I can't return them because they were Easter items. I reminded her that I talked to her and she's the one who told me to come back. I pick up the receipt so I can see what the terms are and all it says is that you can exchange an item that is unopened with a receipt. So after I pointed this out to her. She threw the bag down at the table. Told the checker to do an exchange for me and walked away. Oh my gosh. Her attitude was horrific. And she's a manager? She should know her policies and she shouldn't say things to people that aren't true. I did exactly what she told me to do and exactly what the receipt said. Okay friends, times are tough and getting tougher. If you do not already know about this gem, I suggest you check it out. This store is immaculate, the shelves are always neat and orderly, the staff is happy and helpful....but... the amount of items in this large store and many name brands, will save everyone a lot of coins while satisfy our need to shop. This dollar tree has me strolling in 3 times a week! They have everything that I'm looking for from bowls to wine glasses to birthday cards to gift wrap to hair ties to brushes you name it! This store is quite organized and the staff is friendly. I'll be back again for sure! read more

I generally don't frequent discount stores because their merchandise is all Made in China and the quality is just what you would expect for $1 and I find that sometimes household cleaning supplies and other items are less expensive in some of the "Big Box" locations or even the regional supermarkets in the area. I do, however, like their selection of Holiday Decorations for each holiday including some of the lesser ones like Cinco De Mayo and St. Patty's Day. This makes it easy for me to do "themed gifty" things for my work mates. Their card selection is great and I have accumulated a pretty good selection for my "emergency closet." This location is always clean, neat, well-stocked, and the staff is always nice and at the registers when there is a crowd. read more

Sure you can't find everything at Dollar stores but just enough! This particular dollar store has way more brand named items than other dollar stores! But just keep in mind it's a dollar store, you have to watch the dates on certain items. And now I'm totally not buying cards at Hallmark anymore since these cards that people look at for a brief moment than thrown to the side! And those are $4-$5 while these are $1. They have a variety of stuff and they're actually good quality! Great dishes for college students, they don't break easily and I don't feel bad if I have to toss them or donate them instead of moving with them. Also, they have a variety of storage containers that are perfectly fine quality. You cannot get a better deal on storage containers anywhere else! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The store itself is usually fairly well organized and is spacious. Pretty easy to find what you need! read more

I love the Dollar Tree on Weber in Bolingbrook. It is clean, bright, and well laid out. The staff is helpful and friendly and the Manager, Steve, is great. They have recently expanded this store and it has everything you are looking for - each for $1.00! You can get good products - grocery items, frozen items, drinks, sundries, pet products, art, craft, school/office supplies and much more. They have a huge selection of lovely greeting cards at 50 cents each. It is a fun place to shop. Try it soon. read more

Oh, the dollar store. How can you go wrong? Well...? I actually really like this location. It's conveniently located near my house and their array of fake flowers and headbands is enough to keep me satisfied! It's very clean and very organized. I go here all the time for little crafty needs, which lately has been making flower crowns and generally come to cure my sweet tooth. I have heavy feelings for the candy aisle, which this is pretty much the main place I come to get my fix. The staff is really nice and I always seems to strike up a conversation with the person at the register. I have also brought other people here who end up finding something for themselves every time. They have a decent amount of stuff and if you're looking for cards, fake flowers, hair supplies, candy, party stuff--come here. It's so cheap and in most instances, spending a lot of money isn't vital. I have never spent over $10 at a visit and have done a lot with what I've purchased. Of course, there are times where you buy random things because they are so cheap, but generally I'm really good about not doing that.
