Don't sleep on Dollar Tree. I mean the bougie person in you may want to disassociate yourself from something perceived as low quality or for the masses, but I gotta tell you. There are so many gems here. Admittedly, not all dollar trees are created equal, and I literally leave my town to shop at this one. The store is spacious, clean and well organized. I detest going to junky stores where everything is all mixed up, battered and abused. This is where you want to be if you're planning a kid's party. Skip expensive party stores, this place has everything you need for cheap. I bought ballons, streamers, unicorn themed paper plates, napkins and so much more. Heck, I even threw in a random plushie, unicorn basket, crayons, and squishy things. There are lots of name brand items. Careful through, some things that are $1.25 are actually more than you would typically spend at the local grocery store. Additionally, one thing that caught me was that nowadays, there are $3, $4 and $5 dollar items, so make sure you pay attention. Naturally, plan to spend more than the 2-3 items you came for. This trip, I actually only came for scotch tape and yeah $0 bucks later I finally shuffled to the checkout counter. Note: If you are a senior or person with a disability, you may want to bring a rolling cart/bag. Usually I have a great experience very at this location. It was a bit busy Tonight in the front. I was looking for a magnifying glass for my elderly parent. I went to the register and waited patiently In line after searching the store. The associate Taylor did not know if they carried them so she asked the manager "Madison" to where she replied without hesitation as clearly she seemed bothered and said "we're all out" I asked where they would be if they carried them and was instructed aisle 5. I was very disappointed That I went to aisle 5 and there was a whole box right there. Seems they don't care about service and just want to get through the line and not be bothered. First time coming here since it was the old Fresh & Easy location. Huge & very nice store. They greet you when you come in (unusual these days like in some LA locations don't even smile let alone acknowledge customers) and everything was well organized. Larger selection of items especially seasonal and foods. What's not to love about Dollar Tree? Well it helps when your experience is nice and their store is clean and fully stocked. I am being generous giving this location 2 stars. The complete lack of anything resembling service is obvious every time I have attempted to buy things at this store. Here are my last 3 experiences at this place. About 1 month ago. Went in to buy 4 specific items while waiting for my to-go order at a nearby restaurant. I actually found those items (which was/is rare) and went to the front to pay. Waited 5 minutes in a line of 4 people while 2 employees were socializing at the front of the store (only 1 register open of course). The person at the front of the line had a FULL CART of items - like $200+ worth of "stuff" (at a Dollar Tree?). After 5 minutes I gave up and left. As I (and another customer) were leaving, one of the people who was socializing at the front says "wait, we will open another register". Too late, I left. About 2 weeks ago went in to buy the same 4 items... They were out of 2 of them - facial tissues and salted nut rolls... I left again without buying anything. Today was my most recent trip - and the last time I will ever make a trip to this location unless I have another reason to be in Calimesa. When I walked in, there were about 5 people in line waiting to pay. My first thought was, "oh no". But, after picking up the items I was looking for (and 3 or 4 additional items) I went to the front to pay. And to my surprise, there was nobody in line. Yea! But, as I was walking to the register, the person doing check out was walking away! What??? So now I am looking around thinking that this truly was a new low in customer service. I am standing waiting to pay, and there is nobody at the registers. After waiting a couple of minutes and looking for anyone who actually works at the store, a lady at the front (maybe the so-called "manager"?) appears from behind a shelf at the front to say "there will be someone with you in a minute"... Apparently what she was doing was far more important than TAKING MY MONEY! So after another minute of waiting I walked out again. I know that I am not alone in saying that over the past decade the idea of customer service has basically disappeared. It is as if both management and their employees have never even considered that providing the very basics of service are important. Stock the shelves and have enough registers open so that your customers aren't spending more time standing in line trying to pay and it took them to pick out the items! The lack of customer service was bad before COVID. After COVID I am happy when I can leave a store without having a negative customer services experience. Unfortunately, I think the lack of customer service is due to the fact that we have now had an entire generation of workers that have never experienced what actual customer service is. How can management train employees about customer service when they have never experienced it themselves. Oh, one more thing. Don't pretend that greeting your customers when they walk in has anything to do with customer service. It doesn't. Stock your shelves, provide prompt and attentive service, and thank them when they leave. That is customer service. read more

I shop a multitude of Dollar Trees all the time, yet this one 'takes the cake' AND the frosting. Teehee. Never before have I seen such amazing teamwork and team effort and most especially.... consistently hard working people. But truly the real topper happens to be how truly polite and courteous the people are that work there! One young gentleman that absolutely stood out amongst the crowd is named Mark. Hopefully you don't have more than one Mark. I am 57 and disabled although people can't tell by looking at me. Mark went above and beyond offering his assistance in every way possible! In addition to that, he was so professional AND polite beyond words. His mom definitely raised him right haha. I've had my real estate license for 20 years so I'm much more observant than most when I enter a store. And they (Mark and Manager lady) were just so friendly in greeting me and saying goodbye when I left I just can't speak highly enough about the two of them. It seems in this day and age people don't care about others and they're not very friendly. Everytime I house-sit it for my daughter, I'll be sure and drop by and say hi to all of them and most especially shop there. It honestly makes me think of a reason to go back just to say hi again haha. I hope my input helps in some way. They should sell the items individually like all the other dollar trees but THIS one tries to make you spend more than you need to. This is the biggest, cleanest, most well-stocked dollar tree I have ever encountered. It is also way less sketchy. I found so many back-to-school items here it was insane. Today was my second time coming here and they were closed at 1:30pm. The lady said they would be open tomorrow late afternoon. No explanation. The FIRST time I came here while in the store at 12 (noon) they announced over the speaker they were closing to please head to register to check out. No explanation either. I dont know what's going on here but the two times I've gone in this store they randomly close down the store. It's odd. They need to figure their stuff out. I like the store, the clerk was very nice and greeted me when I came in... But the trash outside is always overflowing and right now there's a bag on the ground also and the trash is blowing into the parking lot ! This seems to be the norm with this store,,, I don't know why they can't take in the trash once daily or at least once every two days... I told the clerk about it but she did not radio anybody to help her or go out there and deal with this trashy trashy problem in the parking lot in front of the store! This Dollar Tree is immaculate! The store is very spacious and very clean. The employees do a good job of stocking and making sure that everything is in place. There's never a mess when I come here and I love that whenever I come there's new things all the time or things that the other stores don't carry. The employees are also very pleasant and friendly. Would leave 0 stars if it were an option... I ordered 180 water goblets to be delivered to this location. When i get the email my order of 180 water goblets are there, i go to the store to pick up. When I get there, there were only 120 glasses including 9 broken glasses. I advised the manager and he told me that is was my problem and i was the one who needed to handle it. (Which I thought he was the store manager, as a manager you're supposed to go above and beyond to do anything you can possibly do to assure customers are happy. Maybe I'm wrong here?) I call corporate to refund my 60 dollars for the missing items and they happily do so. Couple days go by and i still have no refund so i reach back out to let them know. They advise me that they have already refunded the money and i need to take it up with my bank now. I reach out to my bank and advise them of the issue, they tell me to give the dollar store 3 more weeks to do the right thing and refund my money. I wait the three weeks and still no refund... incredibly sick the go around.. I'm very disappointed in the management within these stores. It's a joke. read more
