This Dollar General on Calimesa has closed down. Yep, its been about 2 weeks and from what I know it was due to a fire hazard. Man I was soo shocked, I had been there the previous day and really loved that place. I remember when it opened. I live real close and counted on them for so many of my staple items and loved the $5 off a $25 coupon. It had just put up so many Christmas items and the Staff was so nice. I'm sure they were shocked too. The only other 2 nearest me are in Mentone off Lugonia, and Beaumont. If any of the staff dead this, I just want to say Thank you for being you and the good customer service. Praying that you'll find a good job soon and may the Lord comfort you and give you strength. For a long time this store was closed because the local fire department considered the whole store to be a fire hazard! So many products on their shelves are way past best buy dates. Be careful on what you buy. Bought a small space heater for the bathroom, when I went to use it, it doesn't get hot. Took it back and was first told I didn't buy it there, then told it doesn't matter because there's no returns on space heaters. It DOES NOT WORK....so I guess you better try stuff out in the store before you buy it ? I knew it wasn't a high dollar item, but a $20 donation? I didn't even care if I got a refund, store credit would have been fine. I buy stuff there all the time, not a good way to keep business-- you're not the only dollar store in town, there are three of them in a 2-3 block radius. read more

Wow! I'm amazed at all the negative reviews here. Been here several times, never had a God awful experience like every reviewer did - even when they overcharged me on something I bought, but by the time I realized it, were headed back to LA. It's Ok, they have some if a few brand name bare essentials at low prices, but to be honest with both the Dollar Tree & Walgreens (and even Best 99c store) I just never really need to go there anymore FYI This location is city of Calimesa, not Beaumont which is 7 miles away from this address. read more

I've shopped there, I've picked up doordash there and I performed a recall from there. I wear a lot of hats.. everyone I've talked to there has been really nice. Except one. I had the displeasure of dealing with store manager Sarah three times. She was at lunch when I arrived, said I would come back. Hour later (they told me she had been gone 30 min when I left) I go back and they tell me she's at lunch. I ask how long is a store managers lunch, I've been back three times and I need to wrap this up today. Turns out she had been in her car watching videos. She comes in all annoyed, looks me up and down and says, "Hello.. we don't have any." Could've told me that on the phone yesterday and it wouldn't have cost your company an extra $40 for me to come back three times. Not my problem. I can see the problem. You can't run a store in your car glued to your cellphone. That's why there are carts of merchandise clogging the isles, your backroom is a mess and no one there respects you. read more

I go to this store all the time because it's around the corner from house. Their in stocks is a 50/50 chance. The aisles are very small so its frustrating for them to leave carts of freight on the floor. Not to mention the safety hazard it creates. Also you have to really keep track of the price on shelf and the price it rings up. If the price is wrong they won't fix it at the register even if it clearly is priced wrong and they confirm it is. Other then that I do like their digital coupons. They offer really good deals .... one other thing, I get the whole must i.d for cigarettes and alcohol. But if you have a older lady, clearly in her 70's or older, why make her go through her purse for i.d on cigarettes? I truly don't think I've gotten this bad of customer service ever. This team is AWFUL. I gave them so many chances and each time was worse and worse. I'm a couponer, and no I'm not some crazy coupon lady. I coupon because it's smart. The first time I came into this store was good, but not great. They are constantly out of stock on items. And it's like Walmart trying to hunt an employee down for help. I got what I needed and left. Oh BTW, while I was checking out the cashier was talking to her coworker who was on break in line behind me, talking about how some criminal came into the store the night before and stole a huge cart full of items... On their receipt is an offer, $3 off your purchase of $15 if you complete a short survey. I did and got my coupon. I went back to that same store and when I was checking out, my numbers were not adding up at all. The cashier scanned my coupon and then my digital coupons. More then half of the digital coupons Dollar General offers do not work. When I asked the cashier about it, he had such a bad attitude towards me. Telling me, they aren't trained on how digital coupons work, and there's nothing he can do about it. So I decide to cancel my transaction, he hands me back the coupon and says it's still valid because my purchase was voided. I come by the next morning, and at checkout the cashier scans my coupon and says the coupon isn't valid anymore. I explain to her what happened the night before and she calls over her manager. The manager was hands down the worst. He flat out accused me of coupon fraud!!! What!? YES! I was mortified, there were several people around and this dude just accused me of a crime. He said it happens so often. I couldn't believe it. I grabbed my purse and walked out in tears. I have NEVER EVER been treated so bad. Stay far far away from this place. read more

Dollar stores taking over the world heed this.....there are many...too many...to choose from so you must AT LEAST be clean! Dollar General clean up your parking lot!! This store is awesome! So fun to just come walk around. They've got a little bit of everything! Best thing though, is their employees! Top notch customer service!!! Kristen, The pretty little cashier at the door greeted me as soon as I walked in. I stopped and asked her where I could find things in the store and once she finished ringing up two customers she came out and helped me find the things I was looking for. I am also very impressed they carry Baja Blast Mt. Dew. I was under the impression for the longest time that you could only get this stuff from taco bell, and I'm very happy I can get it here and will be back. read more

I have been to this store twice to purchase some items I saw in the add flyer however, both times they did not have the sale items in stock. Also it is almost impossible to maneuver through the store with no less than 6 carts they use for stocking shelves left in the already narrow isles, it is like a maze and you can't get to were your going and if you do there is a cart blocking the shelves. No one was actually stocking shelves. I won't be returning. read more

I have a service dog and this is the worst store ever! We have been told now by the manager asistant manager and other employees that I have to have paperwork I actually keep a copy of the laws but they won't take the time to look and see what it even is.
