Dollars Tree will always be the destination for budget conscious folks (myself included). With the increased cost of EVERYTHING, this store is one of my go-to's for bargains, even though the prices of items has increased to $1.25. You can pick up food, frozen and shelf items, toiletries, paper goods, toys, pet supplies, car items, cleaning supplies, clothing (though limited), just to name a few. They also have items for $5 and $10 too! I will only shop for the $1.25 items even though some of them have been affected by shrinkage over the past couple of years. All in all, the Dollar Tree still serves its purpose as the premier store for low cost basic items, especially during these times. read more

My mistake was going to a Dollar Tree off Old National Pike on a Saturday late morning/early afternoon, but I happened to be on that side of town running errands. I navigated the congested parking lot and entered the store. It was pandemonium. There was merchandise and people everywhere. I located what I was looking for, decorative rocks, and picked up a couple of bags. I went to get in line and noticed all 4 open registers had lines going back down the aisles. I got in line midway down an aisle and waited what seemed like forever to get to the register. I paid and left and have vowed to never return to this particular Dollar Tree. I'll still spend money with this company, but I'll do so in my neighborhood. read more

Not my regular DT at all. Was nearby so I stopped in. The store is not well organized!! There were things on the floor and literally two cashiers! It was also on a Friday evening but still...I found what I needed but it shouldn't have been a 30-minute visit. I spent more time in the line than I did looking for the few items. It's a dollar store - keep your expectations low. They do have some decent deals and as long as you know what you're getting yourself into (poor customer service, lack of cleanliness, etc.) it's fine. I don't go there often, but they do have some things that make it worth enduring. Just be realistic - it's a dollar store on Route 40, not a boutique. read more

Lookie looo it's a Dollar Tree...this can be a good, or a bad thing. Good if you're in the need for a quick run bad for anything else. So this here location is right next to the Aldi on Rte 40. Parking is fair to middling at best, since it is shared with the grocery store. Now, I'm a fan of any dollar store because y'all should know by now that I'm frugal *cough* cheap. However, this one in particular, is kind of gross. The store is rather haphazard. Everything is all over the place, and there was only one cashier open. Two hours of shopping, $150 later ... with ONLY 2 registers open; I'm so glad that Ms. Tawana served me!!! I had LOT'S of glassware that she wrapped so perfectly and she was so patient and kind. I sort of enjoy the dollar store, and some things here are a really good deal (other things are a terrible deal, since they would be less than $1 at any regular grocery store, including the Aldi literally next door, but I digress...) For things that you need but are only going to use a couple times, like plastic dishes for a picnic or kids' party decor, or to bargain hunt, Dollar Tree generally is an ideal shopping location. This one in particular has a big seasonal department, lots of office/school supplies, good quality cheap greeting cards and a decent section with party and wedding stuff, much of which is actually nice enough to use at a wedding. They have a great selection overall, this is a pretty large Dollar Tree that includes a grocery section with frozen and cooler foods. The problem is that this place is so, so sketchy. The floor is gross and stained and shelves are sticky. Stuff is disorganized and I am dubious as to how well they rotate the food section just because the place is in such disarray. There's things in the candy aisle that I'm pretty sure haven't even been made since the 90's. Sometimes it smells funny or some kind of beeping alarm is going off continuously. If it is, expect to listen to it for quite a while, as they never open more than one register, no matter how crowded it is... and it is usually very crowded. This is like the best worst dollar store ever. I'll keep going there because it's cheap and has tons of selection and conveniently located, but, ugh, bring hand sanitizer and try not to let your kids crawl all over the floor. read more

This store is pretty dirty and disorganized. The shelves are poorly stocked and usually a mess. The selection is also hit or miss - some things that I can always find at other Dollar Tree locations I don't always find here. The staff are nice, but the staff seems to be pretty poorly trained. The last time I was there, the cashier didn't understand how to choose between debit and credit. It was prompting me for debit. I asked for it to be credit. She looked at the register and then looked back at me. Nothing changed...Eventually I just ran it as debit just to get out of there. read more

I shop in numerous stores in the area surrounding this Dollar Tree location and carry my teacup Yorkshire Terrier with me in a tiny purse almost all the time. It has never been an issue in any store that I have visited. My dog is about three pounds and was quiet and In fact she was almost asleep. I walked into the Dollar Tree Store today at 11:04am and picked up a few hardware items. Before I could get to checkout, the manager told me that dogs were not allowed in the store. I asked if I could just purchase the items that I had in my hand and she shook her head "no". Now... I have carried this tiny dog (in her special carrier) into Sam's Club, Walmart, Shoppers, Giant, Patals Grocery Store, Wendy's , Home Depot, Lowe's, Walgreens Subway and other stores with no problem. I'm not sure why this Dollar Tree Store manager had an issue. There are no signs posted indicating that dogs are not allowed. I would never walk in with a dog on a leash unless it was a Service Dog. In fact, what about "Service Dogs" and teacup dogs secured properly in a safe and hygienic carrier??? My little one was in a purse carrier... I started to question the manager but, did not want to cause any type of chaos. ISo, i put the items down, left and went to Dollar General. I was not pleased. When i got home, I called the store and no one answered the phone. This did not make the situation any better. I attempted to contact the Dollar Tree Headquarters to absolutely no avail. So, what could have been resolved is in writing in the form of a review to let everyone know. As a good customer, i am not pleased at all with what took place today. The store is not usually stocked well but, good for small items that are needed. Once in awhile, you may find some really good items if you search through the misplaced items. At times, persons asking for money are a few feet away from the front door and this is not good for seniors that may want to shop there. I shop there because it's convenient and have been a customer for many years. This may need to change... When one establishment closes, another will likely open and offer better service. read more

I really don't understand why they can not just open up more registers on a week day after 5pm! The line in here are ridicules! The store is so messy! Not easy to walked down the isles with out tripping on something. SMH Unfortunately, I will be back here because it so close to everything! This review is mainly about the service at the store. This store is actually quite large and because of that has quite a selection of items to purchase. I don't have a problem with that. It is nice to pick up things for holidays like Halloween pencils, erasers, etc for my kids and not have to spend a lot. I don't like the fact that parents let their "little darlings" run around the store but there probably is not much management can do about that complaint. I know everything is a dollar or maybe 2/$1.00 so nobody really has to look up any prices....so what can be the reason for the slow check out lines. Mainly because they don't open enough of them I guess. However, when you see people waiting at a register and it is ten deep it is time to open another register. I don;t care what else you are doing. Customers come first. Also, here's an idea just add a fast check out for people who have only a few items. I was behind a few people that had carts full of stuff. One bill was over 60 dollars. Ok, that tells you how many times they had to swipe an item and make that awful sound. Isnt; it possible when you have 10 of the same item to just put in 10 and then swipe? No, they had to swipe every one of those trays and containers! Then the cashier had to leave to do something with the $50 bill and then could not find a marker. It was so frustrating. I thought about leaving. But I was next in line. But of course since I was finally ready to check out, someone did finally open another check out.....But what did they do and this is one of my pet peeves.....they just let everyone at the end of the line run up and check out. Why don't they just walk up to the next few people in line and ask them over to the new line. Can you say...can I help the next in line at my register? I am a fan for life of stores that do that! I really try to avoid Dollar Trees for this reason or hit them when I know they might not be busy. I thought Sunday morning was a good idea but I guess it was not. Two bad experiences in one morning....Time to go home and just flop on the couch and watch football! read more

The store itself is pretty big and offers a lot of variety of items, but there was only one register open when I was there and there was a long line. Yes,everything is a dollar and yes, you can find some great deals...however you have to put up with complete disarray, dirty shelves/floors, expired food items ( CHECK THEM CLOSELY), LONG lines, and a parking lot that is shared with a very busy grocery store soon occasion parking is a NIGHTMARE. read more

I was so disheartened by something I witnessed on a recent trip to the store. An elderly lady with a cane came in and asked if there were any carts, she was told by 2 employees that they were outside in the parking lot. Neither employee offered to go get her one, and neither of them was on the register. Another customer went out and got her one. A majority of the carts are sitting around the store with product in it, this is wrong. If you want people to buy things there needs to be some carts available, and I am not talking about during a snow scare. Alos after reading other reviews, another thing that really gets me too, is when I have been in line waiting for awhile and a checker walks up gets on their register and yells out next person in line, because every time there will be a rude thoughtless, person in the back of the line to run over. It's an easy fix for the clerk to walk to the next person and direct them into their line. read more
