They had a 7-Up cake when I went. Not an organic or local product in sight, so it's not for me.

Since we needed provisions, we decided to stop by this Walmart to grab waters, other drinks, snacks, etc. I am a sucker for weirdly flavored chips and such, so I grabbed the crab lays and the old bay cheese puffs. I adore a good potato chip and puff, so I enjoyed trying these. For more substantial snacks, I decided to grab bread, cheese, and meat. For times when we chilled back at the hotel, this was perfect. We purchased everything above, however I have no idea what the cilantro line item was. I don't recall buying cilantro at all, but who knows. Recapping the receipt, things were more than fairly priced. Back home, we would have paid much more for the same items above. Not the best Walmart I've ever been to, but a decent size. They had everything we were looking for. REVIEW #3877

More than anything it's just highly disorganized. I've been there numerous times, but most recently I came in with just enough time to grab everything I needed and head out as the store was closing. I was anxious and hopeful to make this a quick, swift trip AND then I reached the 30!!! Minute check out experience. The store was past closed when I was still waiting to pay. Limited staff despite the fact there seemed to be plenty in house. I understand if you need to restock, but the organization between check out and all of the departments where people seemed to be standing around was disappointing!

With that you have to remember that this place has some items, but not all items. It was nice to be able to stop here and browse. My friend and I came in here to look for some snack items, I tell ya, it's all about the snacks. One odd thing about this place is that it doesn't feel like a market even though it is one. The shelves are not very high and you can see all across the store. Made you feel vulnerable and that you might be judged for the selection you made. If I remember correctly there is a prepared food area or maybe a deli counter. I didn't pay attention to this much as I wasn't there for that. Customer service here was pretty decent. They greeted and made chit chat with every customer that came in the market. Even though this is convenient for the area and an asset, they could do maybe a little something to make it feel less unwelcoming inside. It has a sterile feel to it, which is a good thing for a market with fresh produce, but there is really no character to the place. Unless that is the character you are going for, then you hit it spot on.

The line was 10 people long for 1 register. I watched Debra come out and it looked like she might open a register. I sent my son over to ask if she was opening a lane. She ignored him the first two times and then said no the third time he asked. (He's a shy, quiet 8yo). She then pulled the two people directly in front of us over to her new line and then announced anyone with less than 15 items could line up in order behind the people she had pulled over. I listened to her call the people ahead of us sweetie & darling. But when we finally got in line it was all very glum business. Once I got my receipt I pointed out to her I had watched her lie to my son. She acted like she didn't know and I quietly reminded her he had asked if she was opening a lane and she told him no and then literally opened the lane 30 seconds later. She yelled at us a few times as we exited the store telling us she would go get her manager. A kind lady behind us was appalled at how we'd been treated. Does Debra hate children? What did we do to deserve that?

The shopping experience is irritating. The doors closest to the lot where I park have been closed to the public. Random bag checks at self-checkout are sometimes performed (as today) by associates who don't even know how to use a scanner. The aisle leading to self-checkout has been partially blocked by cardboard dumps in a clumsy attempt at traffic control. I get it--our festering society has normalized theft to the point that a store is vulnerable. But maybe consider customer loss-control? You're driving away the 90 per cent of us who are honest in an attempt to stop the ten per cent who aren't. And we do have other options.

I interacted with at least five different staff members, and every single one of them was friendly, attentive, and truly went above and beyond. They helped me find everything on my list without hesitation and made the whole shopping experience easy and pleasant. At one point, we thought an item was out of stock--but just as I was about to check out, one of the associates caught me and let me know they had found it. That extra effort was the touchdown icing on the cake. This location really embodies what great customer service looks like. Well done, Elkridge Trader Joe's--you've earned a loyal customer!

My experience at Trader Joe's Columbia, MD on 2/21/2026 --…read moreright before the snowstorm -- was extremely disappointing and embarrassing. I attempted to return a few items, and the store manager processed the return in a way that felt unnecessarily confrontational and humiliating, especially in a very crowded store. I was questioned in a manner that singled me out, even though Trader Joe's is known for accepting returns if customers are not satisfied with a product. What made this more upsetting is that I have personally witnessed other customers return items without being questioned at all. I won't mention who. It appears that management selectively decides who to scrutinize, which feels unfair and inconsistent. I contacted corporate to address the situation, and while the store lead did follow up, there was no real accountability -- only explanations and excuses for the manager's behavior. No acknowledgment of how inappropriate the public interaction was. Additionally, some items sold in the store are marketed in a way that seems healthy but contain ingredients that are far from it, which adds to my growing concern as a customer. I expect professionalism, consistency, and respect -- especially from management. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. My experience at Trader Joe's on 2/21/2026, just before the snowstorm, was deeply disappointing and humiliating. I attempted to return a few items and was questioned by the store manager in a way that felt confrontational and unnecessary, especially in a very crowded store. The interaction felt public and embarrassing. What concerns me most is that I have observed other customers return items without being subjected to the same level of questioning. As a Black/African American customer, the inconsistency in how returns are handled raises serious concerns for me about fairness and equal treatment. I contacted corporate, and although the store lead followed up, there was no accountability -- only explanations. There was no acknowledgment of how inappropriate it was to address a customer in that manner in front of others. All customers deserve to be treated with professionalism, dignity, and consistency. I hope this location takes steps to ensure equitable treatment for everyone. Please " do better for your retention customers "
