I. Can't. Stand. This. Location. The customer service is so awful that it's almost comedic. The store is also very unkept and often understocked. If you're running in, even if it's for one thing, be sure to account for a good 10-20 minutes of standing in line because it's always ungodly long. Dumb, unsanitary, empty minded staff. They don't rotate the soda properly in the fridge and it's always warm as hell. Pick from the back and they give you a look because they're too dumb to rotate the soda properly. The same day, I had to use the bathroom and there was no soap in and I got a dirty look for going to the aisle with the hand sanitizer. So I turned to this pint sized old Spanish lady who gave me that look like "There's no soap in the bathroom" and she looked at me and said okay and then went back to her conversation with some big eyed chick and then noticed I didn't move. She looks at me again and I'm giving her the look like are you going to do something or not? So she gets all mad and walks to the soap aisle and finally made the attempt to do her job. Dispicable Manager. I wrote to a product address asking to replace a perfume sprayer and instead was sent an apology letter along with a $5.00 coupon with a 2 year expiration date. Awesome. Great customer service, I thought! THAT is the way to earn a reputation for a chain store!! So today, I was finished shopping at Popcorn Beauty Supply in Central Islip...and though I was tired, I pulled into Dollar Tree also in Central Islip (and on my way home) to spend my $5, knowing full well it would end up being closer to $50!! I was shopping a long time, filling my cart with a vast array of items and enjoying my time in the store, despite the heat. I went to register and chatted about the heat with Vanessa...very friendly kid...as she rang up all my stuff...cards, dog treats, dish towels, cleaning supplies, breath spray, age spot cream, allerergy pills, vitamins...so much stuff! Then I gave her my $5 coupon and she sighed and said she had to call "DE-DE". Which she did... as I laughed and started to call out to DE-DE also, joking around with Vanessa. With that, over comes this 50-something manager who looks like she's having a bad day. Two of us customers need assistance and I volunteered to allow the other be first. When DE-DE came over I realized her name tag said DIANA...as Vanessa explained she did not know how to handle the coupon. With that DIANA is shaking her head NO. Here we go. Beautiful big coupon, Raised colorful logo from Dollar Tree Corporate Office..so now I am gently trying to explain to. DIANA how I received the coupon...SHE WILL NOT EVEN LOOK AT ME... I stop..."Diana, would you kindly look at me when I'm speaking to you?" Lol... UNBELIEVEABLE!!! SHE GETS ON THE PHONE AND 'CALLS HER SUPERVISOR' REPORTING BACK THAT SHE CAN'T TAKE ANYTHING OVER A DOLLAR. (LMAO!!!!) I said fine. That will conclude our business. So I took the coupon...pointed to the logo and said 'This is YOUR STORE, right?' She acknowleged. I asked for her last name and her Supervisor's name as well as the Store number...all she said back, as nasty and indignant as could be, was "You know computers you can find out." ( I guess she thought I researched...I read the product info off the box and hand-wrote a note to the company...THAT'S why they sent me a coupon.) Vanessa felt terrible and apologized to me and I smiled at her and said it is not your fault, Vanessa...I only came in for the $5.00 coupon...look at the business the company lost and I won't be back. I left without buying a thing. PS: I THINK DOLLAR TREE IS A FANTASTIC CHAIN. They always have an "Out of Order" sign on the bathroom. I needed to urinate. They size you up to decide whether they will let a customer use it. Now no one can use it claiming the reason is the Corona Virus. I asked the manager (Hispanic woman about 22 years old, I think her name was Yolanda) for the bathroom key, she said no the Virus prevents use of the bathroom. I asked why the Corona Virus would prevent the bathroom from being allowed. She said the bathroom gets dirty and needs to be cleaned. She refuse to let me urinate. I told her all they need to do is clean the bathroom routinely; another Customer overheard and agreed with me. I left all of the items I was going to purchase and went to a different place to use the bathroom, then I bought many items at that store instead of the Central Islip Dollar Tree. I use to go to that Dollar Tree a lot, now I won't go back there. read more

Someone in this store had corona virus that's why the store where closed for 2 weeks. They DO NOT follow the CDC protocol by cleaning the register every time someone uses it. The lady there I think her name is missy calls herself a "manager" is so rude and disrespectful I will never go there ever again she doesn't know how to treat people like they are a person and she treats her employees like they are garbage I will keep reporting her until she is fired I called corporate on her racist self before and they did nothing she still works there and she's always coughing calling it "allergies" she has the corona virus too and she's still working there is unbelievable. The main manager at the store does not know what he is doing and he tells his employees there's f***ing retarded and they are worthless to him well I guess that's what happens when your parents own the store.
