Wow, went here to pick up a few items in Lake Ronkonkoma New York and this Walmart would make Sam Walton spin in his grave. Aisles are cluttered, items in disarray, garbage not cleaned up, no cart wipes and staff doesn't seem to care to help because they are overwhelmed by the train wreck that is this store. It didn't have what we needed and had to go thru several carts to get on that worked. No price checkers either and they don't take tap. I wish there was a Meijer around. read more

I'm in total agreement with JD who reviewed Islandia on 6/25/2026. I went to that store last week. I needed things in drug aisles. All overhead signs were in Spanish. If you ask for help, they motion for you to follow and they take you NOT to the item but to someone who might understand you. I tried calling 1-800-WALMART and guess what...can't understand the "advocate" either. No one answers when you try calling the store so I resorted to writing the home office. And this is not about the store but the company...I have been trying to get service or a refund for my so called membership since May. Again advocate (and I spoke with 3 such people) say they will credit my account. I'm almost 90. I hope I see it before I die. Walmart "just ain't what it used to be" but corporate but doesn't follow up to see how someone in another country is doing. AMAZON...TAKE ME AWAY! read more

If I could rate the Walmart located in Islandia with a ZERO, I surely would. I had the absolute WORST experience there trying to do a return. The team leader Tamara was so unhelpful and unprofessional. She admitted I brought my return within their 90-day policy, however, since she couldn't get it to show the price on the computer, she refused the return. Instead, she wanted to give me the current price of $2 dollars. It makes absolutely NO SENSE. I tried COUNTLESS times to call the store to get in touch with the store manager, and NO ONE EVER ANSWERS!!! Awful. read more

Purchased 4 tires and had them installed 10/25. Service men broke two wheel studs on one of the wheels. He gave us the broken studs and told us there is nothing they can do. They don't have the ability to repair or replace what they broke. I asked for a manager and he laughed and said he's gone for the evening and reiterated there's nothing they could do. Pros: cleaner than most Walmarts Variety of snacks, crafts items and baby/children apparel. Diapers and wipes. Cons: not many cash registers open, Employees aren't helpful. Bathroom is disgusting. From the doors to the doors, toilets are super gross. Never any toilet protectors, no paper towels available. Bathroom stinks. Instead of focusing on being political, Walmart should focus on cleanliness and efficiency. read more

The manager Silvia is not professional at all. They need to re train her. I purchased an air mattress 2 days ago. Today I returned it as it wasn't holding air. I came with my receipt and was told they do not take air mattress back. I looked at the woman and said how was I supposed to know that prior to purchasing the item. To which she said it says it on the box. I asked for her to show me but of course the box doesn't say that. I explained I purchase it 2 days ago and I have my receipt. My receipt doesn't say it can't be returned if open. How are we suppose to know if it works if we don't open the box. She said I can exchange it only. I simply asked for store credit as I wanted to try another Walmart for a different brand they didn't have at this location. The manager Silvia refused and said she has to follow procedure. She told me to return it at the other location. I explained how do I know when I get there, that they won't tell me I have to return it at the store I purchased it at. Like really I just wanted store credit so I didn't have to deal with this nonsense. Isn't an exchange the same. You are respending your money at Walmart. The manager Silvia has no people skills. I have worked behind the customer service desk of dept stores. I know the manager can over ride the return but Silvia choose not to. After calling the store and explaining what happened the nice Lady in HR told me to come back in. I did get a return back on my credit card. Management doesn't care about customer service here. Just witnessed 2 managers and 2 other employees appearing to donnothing with 8 lines open and lines in excess of 10 people each. Did you forget how to ring people up? Customer service is everyone's responsibility. When you see over 50 people waiting on checkout lines, jump in and help for 10 minutes. They kept calling overhead for more help to the front and none of those people every responded. Store is well organized but customer service is awful. Only went there because I had 2 hours to kill from court. Didn't expect 30 minutes would be just to pay and leave store. Won't be back. read more

Tried to buy a $10 watch. Waited five minutes for an employee to arrive. Was told I had to pay then. I had not finished with my other purchases and did not want to wait in two check out lines. The store usually looks like it was picked up, shaken and put back down for customers to dwell around aimlessly through. Not every Walmart is a pit. Some are quite nice and run like the mgmt care. I enjoy shopping here when it's not crowded. Sometimes the lines are crazy long but they move pretty fast. There's always a sale somewhere in the store. Lots of clearance and info commercial items are cheaper here. It's something to definitely block some time out and walk the isles. You never know what your going to find, but it will be worth it. Walmart is Walmart. It is what it is. A few notes about this specific location... The bottle redemption machines are always broken or full. Store is very unorganized and many items are not properly labeled as far as pricing. I go to Walmart because it's relatively convenient to my home, they have a large selection of items and their prices in general are competitive. If you are looking to do some shopping for decent prices and don't mind a store that is often unorganized, dirty, cluttered, etc.. Come on over to Walmart. read more

Didn't experience the worst of the worst here like I have at some of them (and I have some stories, let me tell you) but overall, it's just not my favorite place to be. On 5/24/21 @ 11:00am I go to do a oil change for the first time at this store. The staff is so unprofessional and rude. I got there and another customer took my spot, I complaint and the lady say first come first serve but I was there before him. Then when they finish and I am ready to pay the cashier so slow. I visited the Walmart in Islandia NY, at 9:50am on 11/11/19. I went to get a oil change, there were two people behind me a older female and a young gentleman. There were two workers working on cars. All three of us were never acknowledged nor greeted, we stood there for about 15 mins and still no response from any workers. Finally the young gentleman asked how long will it be to get something done on his car and the worker replied maybe 2 hrs or so we're waiting on another worker. That gentleman then left... leaving me and the older female with still no acknowledgment. Horrible customer service experience. I ended up leaving and going to Mavis around the corner. read more

Ordered tires online for installation at the Islandia NY automotive location. For 2 days I tried calling auto department and they would not pick up. The operator said she would page them overhead and transfer me. They still wouldn't pick up the phone. After 10 minutes of getting kicked back to the operator she then got belligerent with me and hung up. I decided to cancel my $500 order. I called customer relations and Spoke with Danish Ahmed he was absolutely ZERO HELP, in rectifying the situation . He kept firing off generic emails stating how " Walmart values your business" and wanting to "Rectify your situation". I provided multiple solutions, basicly doing his job, to which he responded no. Mind you these solutions didn't require the company to loose any money, nothing asked was for free. They lost a customer and I will be copying and pasting this on numerous review boards. I went here to get some stocking stuffers a week before Christmas and was pleasantly surprised. Of course the store was crowded but the shelves were very well-stocked and everything was organized. There were plenty of employees walking around who are helping customers and I did not have to wait very long on line. Looks for 20 minutes to find a scanner . I usually go to Target and they have plenty of scanners to check prices of things . Maybe I wouldn't need a scanner if they actually labeled the prices of everything ? I got yelled at for checking the prices at the self-checkout . The lady told me if I need a scanner they have 2. only 2 and they're not easy to find . Funny how I never have these problems at Target . Called to see if they had something in stock because Walmart websites have a habit of saying something is in stock when in fact it's not. Went to 2 different stores both stating item was in stock. Both locations didn't have them. Wasted my gas money and my time driving around. Today I called a different t store because the website is unreliable and had a difficult time getting hold of a real person. Finally someone answered and transferred the call but nobody picked up. I noticed a new policy here. After paying you have to stand on line for an employee to check your receipt and then write on your receipt. This is done without any suspicion of theft and they expect you to wait in line before leaving with your own property. No doubt if you are in a hurry and try to leave with what is now your own property you would get grabbed by the door man. I object to this cattle-like treatment and ask that everyone walk right by the door man with your recently purchased property. They have no legal right to detain you or to graffiti your receipt unless they see you stealing. read more
