Today I went in to this Amazing Savings with her and I must say it truly is appropriately named. The store is large and spotless. The shelves are all full with neatly stocked merchandise. The aisles are constantly swept clean by a gentleman, and they are fully eight feet wide. Store is brilliantly lighted and features helpful employees who bring you to the item you are looking for. When I got to the self checkout the attendant there (Allison?) directed me to an open register and proceeded to scan all the items for me (unusual for check out but I didn't mind). I told her I also had some items to pick up and when she saw they were a new item (retro blocks) She then offered to show me an area where there might be more. Unfortunately they were not but I was impressed by her service all around. That's more helpful to me than being greeted the minute you walk in the door I really feel bad employees are forced to do that. But having someone help you bag up a million small items find your purchase right away and help you find others (all while greeting everyone who walked in the door and answering questions at the same time) was most appreciated. I usually end up buying gifts, seasonal decorations, or little treats for myself like tea, antique trinkets, and candles. I find it hard to describe how the place is organized, but essentially every little alcove in the store represents a particular local craftsperson or entrepreneur. Some of my favorites include... * "Ma belle maison," which is a collection of interesting, reasonably priced antiques and decorations (some sourced directly from southwest France). I found a really cool antique pen tray and some North American duck stamped cards that I have framed above my desk. * "Backstory home" has the best seasonal candles I've ever found! The pumpkin bread candle actually smells like the real thing, and isn't too sweet or overpowering. I also bought their Taylor swift inspired candles for my cousin and she loved them! * Not sure if it's "Harbor cheese and provisions" or "Tono's Tabletop," but there is a fridge stocked with charcuterie, cheese, and nonalcoholic drinks that I've bought for picnics in springtime! Nest also has craft workshops that you can sign up for, and pop up shops that rotate pretty frequently. The clipper ship tea company is currently there, with a unique selection of loose leaf tea blends to choose from- like pumpkin chai! All in all, I love coming to nest. It was small, with tight aisles, but had a lot merchandise inside. The place was reasonably priced with many miniature named brand items. I spoke with the employee who told me they have been there for seven months. It's been awhile since I've been this way so it was nice to see improvement in the area. The lady was a pleasure and we talked about ten minutes before I paid and left. It's a nice place to grab and go, but I wouldn't shop there regularly. Like I said I'm glad to see positive change, so I wish them luck and hope that the community takes advantage of growth.
