If you've never shopped at Dollar General you might think this is just a regular dollar store but there are a lot of items in terms of food, home decor, toys, even clothing, that you won't find compared to Dollar Tree for example. I was most impressed by the selection of groceries and snacks. I was also on the hunt for particular Chapstick flavors and this place had the best selection! If you're looking for fun flavored Chapsticks like grape, snowcone, gelato, ice cream, cotton candy, etc - it's a nice treat. Note that this is kind of like a convience store, many items are priced more expensive compared to a Walmart, however they do have a small section with strictly $1 priced items which are a hard find these days.

I had carts full of clothes options and I even found a great winter jacket. I was definitely impressed by how well organized and clearly displayed all the clothes were. Everything was neatly sorted on hangers by style, size, and color. The staff is constantly moving around, returning clothes to the racks and making sure the place stays orderly. Found lots of good quality hand me downs, some even with the tags and most were decent brands. One really cool thing about this location is they offer a rewards card. For $10 you get a year membership and save 10% every time you shop. There's also an added discount on Wednesdays and the week of your birthday. Hoping I'm prepared for the cold, but if not, I know where to go back!

Things to take note - not everything is a great deal, if you shop at Costco or Sam's Club you may notice similar or cheaper prices there - for example, Kcup coffee pods - not so cheap at Ollie's. In terms of clothing, there's a limited selection, many outdated styles by today's standards. I saw a bunch of genuine leather jackets which looked like they were from the 90's or early 2000s, sold at very low prices (under $20). There are tons of large carpets and rugs on display, ideal if you need to redecorate, also great selection of bathroom towels and matts. It's the kind of place you need to check back often as the stock varies greatly.

Anyway, so I was first introduced to Treasure Hunt at Dixie Mall in Mississauga. It's a big outlet store with everything from clothes and shoes, to toys, housewares, bicycles and tools. In my opinion, a lot of their stuff is junk, but there are hidden gems for those with the time and patience to look. When I was there, they had some Banana Republic dresses for $30. They also had lots of Athleta (the athletic wear brand owned by The Gap) pieces for $4. They also had lots of brands that were of no interest to me though, like George from Walmart and Merona from Target, so I had to wade through those, but hey "treasure hunt" is the name of the game, right? ;) Admittedly, the cool stuff was only in sizes 00-4 and XXS-S, so good for the likes of me, but if you are a larger size, you may not have the same luck. They had lots of discount toys, but most of the boxes were opened or pretty bunged up. I was at the Brockville location a few weeks earlier, and the selection at that store was better in my opinion, and the prices were lower for certain things too.
