To be honest, I (along with my Mom) only made a stop because it was literally next door to Five Below. So after our hour-long run there, we decided to make a stop here as well. Crazy enough, this was our third Dollar Store in the last 72 hours (I know. Bizarre.) Not that much different from the other two we stopped at earlier this week. I bought Christmas bags that were poor quality. The bags handles wouldn't work if you put anything inside. I bought the Christmas bags on 12/03/22, I tried exchanging the on 12/10/22 because I decided to buy better quality bags. As I walked in and asked the man at the first cashier for a exchange, he cut me off to tell me they don't exchange on Christmas bags. I told him my receipt said and I quote " we will gladly exchange any unopened item with original receipt. We do not offer refunds " ! Again, I had my receipt and the bags weren't open. I just wanted an exchange of MY choice. I asked for a manager because clearly the cashier didn't read too well. A manager came a told me the same thing. I asked them to present the proof of this "made up" rule in writing. I asked where was it posted that I couldn't return seasonal merchandise! Especially during the season (since is was only December 10th 2022) Christmas wasn't over and you can still sell it. I was treated poorly and would never go to the dollar tree again or spend my money with them. I was told previously, the manager was in break and no one could help for 15 min to discourage me from exchanging.!They also told me I could only exchange for other seasonal items and that was the only exception. Again these made up policies aren't in writing on receipts or in their stores. I will be calling their corporate office and filing a complaint. I have time today and tomorrow. It's not the money but it's the treatment and lies. The management and employees are trash at this store! read more

Yesterday I was racially profiled at the DOLLAR TREE in Compton, CA at the Gateway center by a associate named Jessica Perez... I was standing in line waiting to buy my items and their was two black girls in line behind me. One of them didn't have a mask on and she put some items in her purse. Jessica came with security guard asking the girl to leave the store & give the items back so the girl did. Afterwards she proceeds to tell ME that I couldn't purchase my items. I asked her why & she said " Because you are with those two girls." MIND YOU I DID NOT KNOW THEM AT ALL I came in the store ALONE with my niece. So when I kept telling her I didn't know those girls she kept telling me I did. And then SHE LIED AND SAID SHE SAW ME ON CAMERA WITH THEM when it was LIES. The cashier who was assisting me even told her that I came in the store ALONE with my niece and she still CONTINUED to say that I didn't. The fact that she ASSUMED I was with them because we are BLACK and they were in line behind says ENOUGH! And when I asked her to write down her first and last name & to give me corporates number she gave me a hard time. And although she wrote it down she gave me the WRONG number‍ smh! I contacted the GENERAL MANAGER of the store and no incident report was even made yesterday nor did anyone mention what happened. I will NEVER shop there again ! When the store was first opened, it was well organized, fully stocked, and clean. Go figure that wouldn't last long. I have yet to figure out why the lines are always long and slow. I used to like shopping here, but since the store has a new policy of not letting the grocery carts go out of the store, I will be shopping else where. Alicia's check stand was closing. The only line that was open, the line started building up quickly. I only had 2 items & the gentleman behind me had only 2 items. Alicia was gracious enough to check both of us out and was efficient & quick! I just had a very unpleasant experience here. I came to exchange 10 candle holders. Everything was going smoothly until the cashier charged me the difference I needed to pay, she didn't ask me if I wanted any bags, she simply put my things to the side and started ringing up the next customer and putting her stuff on top of mine. Really? I grabbed the bag I already had and start putting some of my things in there. 1 bag wasn't enough I had 13 items and I asked to purchase a bag. She charged me the 10 cents and I told her "You know it's not right that you're putting all her stuff on top of mine, now I can't even see which stuff is mine". She answered back with "Oh her stuff are bagged". By her tone of voice and facial expressions I knew she was upset. I told her "It was very unprofessional was she's doing she didn't even give me a chance to grab my stuff". She said "Well I have other customers". I reminded her I was a customer myself. She replied again with "Well I have other customers waiting in line". Not giving me eye contact or acknowledging the fact that I'm an unhappy customer because of the way she's treating me. I then asked her what was her name and very rudely she replied "Carolina it's in the receipt". I definitely understand that sometimes customers are rude to workers which will give them a reason to be rude as well, but I was not rude to this employee. I also asked her who the manager was and she said "I am the manager". Which really surprised me because that's not the characteristics of a real manager. She was the only one ringing up people, she did have a line of customers waiting to pay, but that didn't give her the right to treat me the way she did. It also wasn't my fault they're short staffed. This so called manager Carolina (she wears glasses) lacks in customer services and is very rude. It's obvious this Dollar Tree gives the title of manager to just ANYONE! But hey there's always going to be people like this everywhere so being 7 1/2 months pregnant I decided to keep my cool for my baby's sake. Don't waste your time at this store! read more

Terrible! The employees that work here are extremely rude! You come into the store and all you get are stares. Not even a "Hello" or "Welcome" When I got to the checkout my total came down to $4.08 I wanted to get rid of some extra change so I gave her $2 in quarters and the rest was in dollars and the eight cents. I guess these people are afraid of change because the cashier and another employee were giving me a look like they've never seen change before. Then they started talking about me while I was still standing there waiting for her to hand me my bags. Worst location! Don't shop here! I will never return to this Dollar Tree location! I was standing in line (mind you there was only one register open) with the items I wanted to purchase when another cashier opened up the 2nd register and called next. I go over to that register ready to purchase my items when the cashier motions to the people in the other line that were in front of me to come over so she can help them. She put my items to the side and went to blow up 4 balloons for them and ring them up, all while I'm still at the card machine, debit card in hand waiting to pay. The customers she chose to help before me weren't even paying attention when she called next so why she chose to take them and push my stuff to the side is beyond me! When I told her what she did was rude, she responded "I called next and they were already in line". Okay I get that, but when you called next I came over first and was already waiting there when you decided to help them instead. The guy behind me agreed with me and while we were both telling the cashier that she treated me unfairly, the other cashier came over, cell phone in hand by the way since I guess (or hope) she was on break and says "we can't help who doesn't pay attention when we call the next person, sorry guys!" Very rude and the customer service is lacking greatly! I have complained to the manager and will be contacting corporate because Compton already has a bad name and we don't need people like these girls working in our stores with those attitudes! read more
