Quite possibly the cleanest most organized Dollar Tree I've seen in a very long time. Sadly the employees are not nice or social in any capacity so don't expect them to even speak to you at checkout. I grabbed some Valentines Day items for a DIY project I'm working on. Impressed that I found some great quality items for just $13. Quality craft wire ribbon for just $1.25. I have been to at least a half dozen Dollar Tree stores in the Boston area and this one is the absolute best. It's big, has a freezer section, and everyone there -- from the employees to the customers are HAPPY! Even right before closing time when I went. While distance-wise it's not as convenient for me to go to this location, it's worth the trip, esp. given that it's near a bunch of other stores that I normally go to. read more

Andrew was the cashier when I checked out tonight on 4/4/22 at approx 7:30pm at the Danvers MA location. Even though the condition of the store was incredibly messy (as it always is), he was very pleasant and polite. Working under such conditions and I'm sure on the low pay scale, I give him an "A" for customer service and for wanting to work during this awful "great resignation" syndrome in our country. This store in Danvers Massachusetts doesn't even rate one star. It's a deplorable mess. Unopened Boxes block the aisles while the shelves are empty. Management is non existent and most of the staff are clueless and rude. You should close the doors so dollar general or dollar zone can give it a try. read more

Obviously you can't beat the prices for certain things in here (everything's a dollar of course). I like to get some cards herel, 2 for $1! And of course gift bags, $1. You get the point on pricing. Anyways, I also like to get my son cheap toys, as rewards for potty training, etc. Once found some candy I needed to make a cake. However, just about every time I have gone in there, I think to myself, why did I do this to myself? Everytime I get in line, there is either a really long line, with only one cashier. Or someone in front of me who has done their entire grocery shopping for the week (they sell frozen items now). You think they would say, "Oh honey, you have 2 items, go ahead." Um no! I had one lady the other day who bought a lot of stuff, went to go pay with a certain credit card they don't accept and then had to write a check. And then the check kept getting stuck in the register. I finally had to put my basket of stuff down and leave because I had to pick my son up from preschool in a half hour. So instead I ran over to Target to get similar items. If only their $1 only area was bigger. read more

What is one supposed to write in a review of a dollar store? I mean, this store is no different than any of the other Dollar Tree stores.... They all look the same and sell the same stuff.. The difference with this one is the grouchy elderly crab up front and the looooooong lines with looooong waits since anytime I've ever been in there, there's never more than one register open, although you will usually see at least two employees walking around like they have nothing to do. I can't blame her for being grumpy, as it's not her fault that her boss does not have the common sense to schedule enough staff to properly run the store, and why would she remain pleasant after a few hours of dealing with crabby customers complaining about the long line and waiting. Now, had they at least had more registers open, then the store would of earned 3 stars since this store is no worse nor no better than any of the others and I can't find anything exceptional about this company to give it 5 stars... It's like calling a seedy run down Los Angeles motel a 5 star hotel.. This is just bottom of the barrel made in china garbage. read more

One star is actually unfair as the place deserves 0. This place is absolutely awful. Stay away! - you get what you paid for. The people here are very rude. They sold me 10 balloons for my daughter's birthday and said everything was all set to pick up the next day. I went the next morning (the actual day of the party) and the place had no customer service. I waited in a long line for the cashier to send me somewhere else to speak with the manager. Ah - what a joke of a person! He said they ran out of helium and did not offer me anything to make it better not even sorry. This poor bastard had no manners or even a slight sense of courtesy. He makes me go back in line again to get my money back. At one point I thought about just waking out but it was all about the principle. They messed up and I deserved my money back. The worse part is that throughout this entire bad experience, the manager did not even say sorry or show any damn empathy. I worked in retail before so I know what is like but come on..some courtesy and manners is just fucking common sense, specially when you fuck up and see a kid with no balloons! Have always shoppes this store. It WAS convient, friendly and always fully stocked. Id say within the last year it has TOTALLY gone to chit. Isle upon isle empty...i mean EMPTY! I have never seen such a thing in retail. No product and no cashiers at registers, even with lines down the isle. Weeks before xmas store was empty and not from purchases. I was told trucks were told to hold back till 1st tues. after xmas ..WTH!!! and 2 tuesdays later...still empty. Horrible way to do business, bad management im guessing. Cashiers are always pissin and moanin and that is also bad for customer service. Owner should probly reevaluate his store...just saying. read more

Generally, I like the Dollar Tree. The one in North Reading is fabulous. However, DO NOT and I repeat, DO NOT, go to the DANVERS one. I was at AC Moore to pick up supplies to make personalized wine glasses and I knew that the Dollar Tree, just a few stores down, had wine glasses for $1 (you cannot beat the price!) So, yesterday, at about 6:45 PM, I quickly went into the Liberty Tree Mall store. After carefully selecting and placing 13 wine glasses in my carriage with some assistance from a family member, I went to the register to check out. I gently placed them all on the conveyor belt. I walked forward and the family member I was with said, "Hi, we have a lot of glasses, do you want us to help wrapping them?" The cashier looked at my glassware, and said, "Nope, I can't be bothered, I'm going to throw them in a box." Then, she immediately pressed the button on the conveyor belt, which sent all 13 glasses crashing into each other and tumbling down! The family member who I was shopping with, yelled, "Stop! Stop! You're breaking them!" The cashier, Marie, looked at the two of us like we were crazy people with 8000 heads. Lady. It's glassware, are you insane?! And, to make it even better, she kept pressing the button even after my family member kept instructing her not to do so! She then continued to very harshly throw them into a box where they clanked all over each other. She gave me a nasty look, and I said, "My goodness, where is your manager." (Not kidding, I was in shock.) She then very snipply replied, "I AM the manager." I backed off because I just wanted to get out of there, and really was not in the mood to get into it with some lady at a dollar store. She continued on with the sale and gave me my receipt, and said, in a rude tone, "Have a good day." I looked her and sassily replied, "You too" (with an added glare, which she didn't even look up to see.) As I began to move the carriage with all the glasses in them, I realized that the box wasn't going to cut it. I asked, "Can I have some bags to put these in so they don't break?" She literally threw a couple of smaller brown bags at me and said, "Here, are you happy now?!" Once I got out of the store, I wrapped the glassware in the bags and continued home. This lady, the self-proclaimed manager (I saw no indication on her name tag that she was a manager), Marie, was one of the rudest cashiers I have ever had. I have no respect for people that do not have common courtesy, at least to be mildly pleasant. So if you ever go the Dollar Tree, don't go to the one in Danvers. But if you happen to find yourself there, and there is a woman named Marie in the store, RUN! read more

This location is terrible the staff suck, there rude and dont do anything at all to help or benefit the customers. They lock their doors early by 10 or 15 minutes almost every night yet somehow that's acceptable the sign on the door says they are open till 10:00 p.m. the Internet says they're open till 10:00 p.m. but yet for some reason it's OK for them to close at 9:45 or 950 every night this is unacceptable it's a slap in the face to patrons who are loyal to the brand I drove 15 minutes out of my way tonight a Friday night after I got out of work late to have the doors locked at 9:48 p.m. now everything I need to do needs to be pushed back a day all because they wanted to go home an extra 10 minutes early that's bullshit. Whats worse is that this isnt the 1st or even 2nd time, this is tje 3rd time in 2 weeks. What makes it worse is there were customers still in the store shopping and paying, and the employees wouldnt even acknowledge that i was at the door, yet the customers inside saw me and stared. It's very unfortunate that this location is the one that is primarily closest for me to get to makes me sick knowing that people can get away with doing this on a regular basis while I just wasted over a 1/2 an hour of my night because of ignorance and laziness if you can help it don't shop at this store They need to fire everybody there read more

Do not EVER go to this Dollar Tree. Two days before Christmas, no manager on duty, 3 cashiers, 30 people in line and the cashier says "I'm going on break" and refuses to take the rest of the people in her line after we had all been waiting over 20 mins to get to the front of the line. Then the other cashier Matt says to customers "oh well they'll have to wait". If you don't want to work in retail then get out of the business. All workers are tired , hungry, overworked and underpaid but that is not the fault of the customers who are there to pay into the business YOU chose to work for! And Matt should be fired for how he speaks to customers. If you hate your job, get a new one, because you do not belong in retail the way you speak to those who are shopping there. I'll take my business to the Wakefield or Reading Dollar Tree where they know how to treat people and they don't mouth off to customers and show their frustration for a job they hate. I am absolutely disgusted with the behavior of said "night manager". I went to Dollar Tree with my daughter last night (9/8/12). An older man was working alone at one register (His name is Bob). I noticed there was a long line and asked him if there was another employee in the store that could help me with balloons, because I needed 10 balloons filled and didn't expect him to have to leave the only register open to fill them. He said that the "night manager" was in the store somewhere if I didn't mind asking her to do them it would be great as it was so busy. I had no problem with his suggestion. My 12 year old daughter went to the woman to ask her if she come help us, as we were going to purchase balloons and it was busy up front. My daughter came back and told me the woman said to take the balloons we wanted from t he drawer and bring them to the register and Bob could fill them. I went back to Bob and mentioned that, he asked if I mentioned we needed 10 filled, my daughter replied she just said we needed some balloons. He asked if she could go let the woman know we needed 10. My daughter went back tot he woman and said, "excuse me, We need to get 10 balloons filled and it is really busy up front and would it be possible for you to come fill them so Bob could tend to the long line of people. The night mananger threw and item down and said "Jesus Christ" "I will be there in a few minutes". My daughter came and told me. I at that point was furious!!!! NO one speaks to my daughter like that especially when she was merely asking for help for the other employer in the store not to be bombarded with people. I walked back to where the night manager was and said, "Ummm Hello, my daughter just came back to ask you if you could assist us with Balloons because there is a long line and Bob thought it would be ok to ask you for some assistance. Then, my daughter mentioned what you did, by throwing an item and saying "Jesus Christ I'll be there in a minute". I then responded, that there was no need for such disrespect towards my 12 year old daughter and I don't appreciate the fact that she spoke to her in such a horrible way. The night manager made a face and a noise to show she didn't really care. Then she did try to say she never said what my daughter told me...YA,that's when I raised my voice at her. NOBODY speaks to my daughter that way and NOBODY calls my daughter a lier. She said "oh ya' whatever you're daughter doesn't lie". I told her I would be reporting her. She didn't care. She never came to help Bob, he had to leave at least 10 people at the register to fill the balloons. Of course some of those people were getting upset asking if they could open another register, so I explained to every single person in line what just took place and it was not under Bob's control. The night manager didn't feel the need to come and help out customers or the cashier. They were disgusted with the woman as well. I felt so bad for Bob....he had to take the brunt end of the people that had to wait and he was extremely patient and kind. What type of customer service is she "modeling for her employees", perhaps she needs some training from Bob on how to be respectful and realize that customer satisfaction is key to running a successful business! I am going to contact the head of the company and hope that they take care of the disrespectful night manager. By the way if you ever met my daughter, she is shy, quiet and kind...she was upset about how this woman spoke to her when there was clearly no need! read more
