While the place was still nice and fully stocked as usual, there was only 1 cashier, a black girl/woman between the ages of 20-25. For one, she didn't speak to me, I had to speak to her first. Second, she didn't read off my total, she just stood there. Then after I paid, she just laid the receipt on top of the 6pack of paper towels I bought I had to tell her to put it in the bag please.... Oh but when my bf was checking out right after me, she had all the words in the world to say to him. Nah, we not doing that over here honey. I'm not sure what her issue was but I need her to learn a retail courtesy course quickly; you're supposed to engage with EVERYONE. Eventually, another guy opened a register, young looking black guy, he was definitely more engaging with the customers in his line, I shoulda went over there tbh.... All in all, this visit get 3/5. She needs better training or she can get replaced; I know people who need a job who'll fill that role just fine This is a good dollar tree, don't just be hiring people just to be hiring them; hire people who'll actually engage with customers and leave them with a pleasant experience. Some of the clothing and home goods looked kind of ratty but there were some good rather new items too. They do have 50% colored tags for the week so the item might be even cheaper! The home goods section also arranged items by colors which I thought was very fun. I don't see that in a lot of thrift stores. A loveseat couch was like $25 or $35 which was pretty crazy! I also picked up a Frye carrying case for $3 and it was new with tags!

I picked up 3 books each for $2-3 but I suspect that they were priced so low because they came in a long time ago. There were other books I saw prices around 4-5. And still others were $30... but I'm not into those genres and couldn't say what their value was. I ask if they could order me a new one instead of accepting the one on the showroom floor. She said she would check on it or that she could offer me 20% off. I ask her to check on the new one and let me know. No one called me back, so I called them back a few days later and they told me they cannot order a new one. So I went today take a closer look. Two different clerks were working and told me they would only take 10% not the 20% the other clerk offered to me. So I ask for a refund. One of the clerks issued my refund and did say, "I'm, sorry" and she wished me luck in finding something else. The other clerk stood at the counter and said clearly under her breath, "there is nothing to be sorry about." Well.... I sorry for your loss and any future sales to me, I liked your merchandise. But refuse to be treated rudely. It's such a nice store to have such an unpleasant clerk and so unprofessional of her.

This store within a store is sectioned off on the higher platform as you ascend the stairs so there's a clear boundary of what merchandise to pay where. Would I come here again? Yes but double check the quality of whatever you're buying to make sure there's no obvious defects. I do like the grocery store though.
