The prices are affordable but if you check the ounces of the food you will see that the contents have been reduced to get a lower price. So I am not sure if you are saving much. If you are single then the sizes are just right but if you are looking for family sizes then perhaps you should shop elsewhere. The best part is that the Stores are all located close to the people in residential areas. This means you can walk and not have to drive all over town to purchase something quickly. I once read that the average American spends $8,500 a year on their car, car insurance, car maintenance etc. So if you can walk to the Dollar Store and avoid a car then you're saving a bunch. With the closing of the IGA on mainstreet then the Dollar Store is a good replacement. Glad we have something downtown and recommend it to all that need a quick item on the way home from work.

Being the dutiful spouse I tagged along. I was amazed at the prices on the Christmas Decorations. Lots of good decorations for next to nothing. We also found a stocking with the initial of a newly born family member for you guessed it $1. All in all we got a ton of decorations, boxes for gift wrapping and a Christmas Stocking for $27 total. Pleased with our visit here. Only downside was the register broke down and there was a line to check out but nothing like you would see at other discount competitors or while shopping in Lexington. Store was clean and well stocked. Stop by and spend some of your holiday cash here at the Dollar General Store.

They have a lot of foot traffic for no real reason. The store itself is usually fairly clean. The staff is always talkative and friendly. I randomly stop in here just to get something I forgot at Kroger or Walmart or if I don't want to deal or see a lot of people. They carry a wide variety of items here. Some clothing items, lawn/garden, foods, dairy, just to name a few. Stop in if you don't want to go into the bigger stores here. I am sure you can run in and out fairly quickly and keep your day moving.

This is a smaller Five Below but it looked pretty well organized and appeared to be everything you would expect. Most of the t-shirts in the front looked to be sold out, so I guess it must be pretty popular. I was surprised to see that it had self checkout as most by me still have full registers. Easy to park at so good overall!

I did find the cupcakes, but the selection was minimal (all they had were 12-packs of vanilla cupcakes). Boo. Anyway. If you strip the Walmart label, this seems like a decent grocery store with all the usual grocery/pharmacy offerings. It's spacious, clean, quiet, and all that jazz. Organic offerings? Not so much. And it's basically across the street from Kroger, which is much better, in my opinion. Yes, the prices are lower here, so I understand why some people shop here. But... It's Walmart.
