The workers are readily available to assist customers with accessing hard to reach items and offer to bring purchases to the front of the store to be held for you. Everyone I encountered was friendly, pleasant and helpful. This is set up similar to an "Antique Mall" but is much nicer than that. There are many rooms and it's so much fun to explore. At first I figured I would only be window shopping because some of the prices knocked me off my feet. I am a bargain hunter and have access weekly to some pretty amazing finds at my local farmers market. I get things for very reasonable prices. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and found a tremendous gift for a friend. I highly recommend visiting The Swamp Door. You will enjoy walking down memory lane. You get a 10% discount every time- it is applied to the lowest price item.

There was plenty of parking on a Friday afternoon and the moment you enter this expansive shop, you know you are in for a tremendous treat. It is extremely well organized, with so many nooks and crannies, we needed a couple of hours to appreciate and soak in all of the wonderful memories this spacious store gifted to us! Vintage jewelry, lamps, books, vinyl / cd's, seasonal decor from days gone by, collectibles, military items, and so many more interesting, unique offerings ~ it would be impossible to list everything here. There are also beautiful works of art, greeting cards at one of the shop's entrances ~ they are stunning pieces if you are looking for a one-of-a-kind gift. This amazing shop is super clean, everything is displayed in such a lovely, caring way and the prices are very reasonable. The memories from some of the offerings for sale made this little trip priceless and the exceptionally pleasant lady who worked at the register sealed the deal for many return visits.

However, once I left the store and tried them on, I realized they were too slippery to walk in and as hard as I tried to justify keeping them, I finally returned today to send them back. The guy handling my return was super nice as well as apologetic that it didn't work out. The girls who were there (who had helped me purchase them) were shocked to find out that the flip flops were hard to walk in and admitted they too usually wear $2 Old Navy ones just because they stay on your feet better. It really is like shopping with friends; good prices and good opinions to guide your purchase!

I was a bit surprised by the condition of the store though, which is organized to a certain degree. Linens with linens, housewares with housewares, etc. there's a good bit of sofas and misc furniture from all kinds of eras one might find interesting. Prices overall were high I felt, especially given the messy condition of the store itself and the sorting process wasn't the greatest. Flawed items managed to get on the sales floor. I did find a bunch of cardboard boxes containing a mix of misc items for .50 each which I rummaged thru. Also was interested in the art and frames, which inventory was abundant, however it was too much to dig thru, some were on the wall shelves, others in boxes on the floor. Housewares and baskets had some items I would have been interested in picking up but didn't because prices were what you'd pay at Big Lots for something new. I was a bit surprised to find used (I'm assuming) mattresses for sale and wondered, do people really buy them? Never got to explore the clothing selection as hubby was in the car and I had already spent a good bit of time here, but appeared to be like the other departments. A bit congested and messy. The cashiers were nice and did what they could, probably with minimal staff, but overall as a whole this place needs more organization, a bigger space or more selective sorting process, and lower prices. If you go be prepared to spend some time here. There's alot to get into, some items are hard to access, and can be a tad overwhelming.

I found some GREAT buys. Only negative notice was the men's assortment of cologne boxes were 50% ripped open and tested. But it's par for the area. Lots of young dudes. I was at this location and had a return, no queries, tags attached, receipt was presented and smooth transaction. Associate was helpful.
