I consulted my handy dandy Yelp app and found that there was this Goodwill right nearby! Awesome! So off I go This Goodwill is in a larger shopping center serving a more rural area. There are some larger/big box stores, some smaller stores and this Goodwill, which was a good sized store. It was pretty easy to find and there is parking right out front, which was extra good as it was a rainy day Inside the store was easy to navigate, with good sized space in between aisles and you don't really have to go through one section to get to another, which is super nice. For example, you don't have to get through clothing to get to housewares. I headed over to the housewares, which was as typical arranged by color. I found a mix of things I was interested in and things I was not, however there were no broken items or things in poor condition. I then cruised over to clothing, where there were some nice pieces, however as it seems to be with the Goodwill stores in general in our area, I found the pricing was a bit high for the items they had. Still some bargains to be found, if you want to hunt I found checkout to be quite easy, and the staff to be pleasant and unobtrusive. The store was clean and well lit I am certain that should we be out in this area again, this Goodwill will be on my list of places to check out.

As she was ringing me up, the cashier asked me lots of questions about the mission and listened to me ramble on about the shoe box gifts we send out. To my amazement, at the end she stepped around and paid for my items! I still can't get over it and have shared the story with lots of people. I wasn't part of the conversation, yet I felt deeply uncomfortable just overhearing it. I can't wear a mask due to very real medical reasons (blood pressure related), under my doctor's advise. Target had apparently rolled out a new (and already outdated compared to their competitors) policy on masks, but the clerk was either entirely ignorant to the details of the policy she was attempting to enforce, or she just wanted to rant at me in a sort of deranged power trip. She told me I couldn't come into the store due to store policy and state policy. My only option was curbside pickup. Period. Target's actual policy is: "Starting August 1, we're requiring guests to wear masks or face coverings in all of our stores, except for those with UNDERLYING MEDICAL CONDITIONS and young children." State policy is essentially the same. The clerk would not show me their policy in print, so I had to look it up on their website after I left. I suppose if I had a heart attack in the middle of the cereal aisle, it would have been a preferred look for the store, than to show a little consideration for someone who has no problem with respectfully social distancing? I've been going to the Exeter store since it opened, but I will do my shopping at other grocery stores or farmers markets in the future, and all non essentials will be bought on Amazon.

To be honest, it looks like a knock-off version of Home Goods. They carry very similar items. If you see something you like, you better get it than because their stock changes all the time. They carry nice lamps, chairs, pictures, things for the kitchen, flowers etc. The prices are pretty reasonable, too. If you are looking to shop on a budget, Home Sense is a great place to shop.

She was not at all friendly and got very short with me because I could not hear her and was frustrated with me because of that and because I guess I was using an award that wasn't scanning which meant she had to do more work. She wasn't very nice. I'll still be back especially if I need furniture - I just hope the employees will all be more friendly.
