I want to give a huge shoutout to Angela at Dollar Tree. She is truly exceptional. From the moment you walk in, Angela greets every single customer, and she does it genuinely. That alone sets the tone for the entire store, but it doesn't stop there. She is hands down one of the best packers I've ever met. I had quite a few purchases, and she somehow fit everything neatly into one storage tote. I was honestly impressed. That lady has skills. You can tell Angela takes pride in her work, cares about customers, and brings positive energy to the store. Whoever hired her, you got lucky. Employees like Angela are the reason people come back. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to after my experience with a cashier named Seth. From the beginning of the transaction, he was unnecessarily rude and dismissive toward my friend and I. His tone came off as sassy and unprofessional for no reason. While I was paying, I attempted to use a friend's card, which declined. I stepped aside briefly to call my friend and ask him to bring cash. As soon as I got off the phone, Seth said, "You still need to pay for that," in a way that implied I was trying to leave without paying. This was uncomfortable and disrespectful, especially considering I had communicated what was happening. Given the way he spoke to us from the start, the interaction felt racially motivated, and as a customer, I did not feel respected or welcomed. This experience was disappointing and made me uncomfortable, and I hope management addresses this type of behavior. read more

We were able to go to the dollar store which really helped my daughter out starting her new life after college. We got some cleaning supplies, House wears, hangers, coat hooks, the saran wrap foil all the things for a kitchen that we would need. So the dollar store is great on a budget. Dollar Tree has become my go-to for everyday essentials. I needed some gift bags, wrapping paper, and holiday decorations, and as usual, Dollar Tree did not disappoint. This is for the DT on Kettleman. Went to get some helium filled balloons. Had to manually open the sliding entrance doors since they weren't working electrically. Only one cashier so looong line. The floor was FILTHY. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned or mopped in ages. Turned around and walked out. read more

I have enjoyed shopping here for a long time! its in better location than the one on Cherokee Ln. I wish to comment regarding the manager ( the older lady) She's very rude, and accuses the young kids of stealing! when I have have to go to exchange something, the manager is out to lunch? it doesn't matter the time of the day? Even the cashier said she wouldn't dare ask when she was coming back, because she would be upset! Ordered online Hair conditioner Quantity 12 Bottles on the 1st of August. After many emails inquiring about this order I finally got an email notification that my order was in the store August 24th. So we went to town 28miles one way and got to the store only to be told that my order was not there. Had to wait 20 minutes to talk to the person Claiming to be the manager. He never asked to see the email, or the order number, he just stated it wasn't there. I then asked why his shelf was stocked full with the same product I ordered and he said the online orders were not part of the same company. Xavier is his name and when I pointed out that the email was from Dollar tree he still claimed it was not his problem. Now after talking to someone online I was told it would be in the store Wednesday the 28th, but call them first so they can make sure it's there. NEVER will I order from this company again. They say they care about their customers but I sincerely Doubt it. By the way another young woman was there also having exactly the same problem with these clowns . I shop Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Big Lots, and Target regularly. There are good things at each store. Dollar Tree offers some good items that are difficult to find, like Dermasil skin lotion. Most everything is $1.00 but don't be fooled. They often use special sized items, compared to other stores. Bottles of Mountain Dew are a good deal for me, especially when some places charge $1.99 for those $1.00 bottles and most charge $1.49 or more. The snacks are good and the nacho and Jalapeño cheese sauce are a bargain compared to the similar Frito-Lay brand. Do your research and you'll be fine. read more

I like to start with the good things but they are a bit self explanatory when it comes to the Dollar Tree; everything's a dollar. In this case, however, that's not always good. Stopped in last night for a few snacks and small ones that aren't even a dollar in the grocery store were still a dollar here. Due to it's close proximity to my house I probably stop here once a month and it is good for certain things. I probably buy balloons 5 times a year just because they are so cheap and convenient here. If you need knick knacky crap or little party favors for cheap it is a good place to stop. The store is typically unorganized and at best you'll find three fifths of the things you are looking for. The thing that annoys me the most about this store is the fact that I can never get in and out. Employees are scarce and more than once I have had to stand there while the checker, slow as molasses, scans each individual item at a snails pace or is so busy chatting casually with another customer or employee they forget they are at work. If they cleaned up the store and had more efficient employees I would give it 3 stars. read more

This brand-new Dollar Tree location opened up about two weeks ago in the Lakewood Mall where, the now closed, Lakewood Drugs ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/lakewood-drugs-lodi ) used to be. Not really my kind of business... probably frequent these type of businesses just once or twice a year... a store of last resort, you might say. If no one else has what I'm looking for... then 99 Cents Only or Dollar Tree will have it! Mixed reactions from residents who live in this neighborhood so far... but, I'll bet the landlord likes it... that space since Lakewood Drugs closed has been vacant for over two years! It begs the question... If a Drug Store can't make it here... how can a store selling everything for a buck afford the rent? The Economy is just incredulous... With this opening, Dollar Tree has become, by far, the most frequented business in this part of the city. IMO, the parking is totally inadequate for this type of merchant at Lakewood Mall. It's so busy, in fact, it's hard for me to Bike through the parking lot, without playing Hit-and-Run with the vehicles at Lakewood Mall nowadays... Management is somewhat more sensitive to long lines forming, awaiting checkout, but this positive trend must continue to satisfy me. Too, a more important, even critical, matter concerns the lack of store policy enforcing mask wearing upon entry. One day recently, of the ten to fifteen folks, including staff, on site, I was the ONLY person wearing a protective mask. I had previously spoken with the female manager about this, and she informed me that masking was optional for employees. I feel that everyone is placed in jeopardy. If someone coughs on merchandise, and I pick up that item, my protection is compromised. As the father of modern management asserted decades ago, " It's ALWAYS a management problem. Contrast this deplorable situation with Smart and Final here in Lodi, which demands all customers and employees mask up. read more

I shop here a few times a month and it can be a hit or miss on some items. But that is to be expected especially at a dollar store. I do enjoy shopping here. It is one of the highlights of my week. (Yes I don't have much of a life besides my family.) I always find something that I need or want. It's fun to take my kids here and they get to pick something out that is only a dollar. (Love that, especially being on a budget.) one of the only issues I really have here is the parking, it can be really daunting to find anything close and the parking spaces are a little tight. The other issue I have is when the teeny boppers get out of school and decide that the Dollar Tree is the place to be and hoover near the entrance and expect people to shove their way around them with out these teenage brats moving a muscle as if it is too much of an effort for them to have some respect and be polite. Makes me wonder what morals and values are being taught at home these days. Obviously not much. Other than that I really like this store. read more

Rude. Basically kicked us out, Nancy told us "leave" the store when we hadn't even paid for our stuff. She told us we better be putting the merchandise hats back when all we were trying them on and I said yes but she kept rambling on how people leave things around random places, that's bound to happen at any store, and that we made her life harder having to put everything back in place after I had told her we would put the hats back. Our experience here was HORRIBLE. The night manager Lupe was completely disrespectful to my family. She told me to "get my kid under control" who was doing nothing wrong and standing beside me looking at things. My child put a little pressure on one of the display hooks and it broke. She was more concerned with the broken hook rather than the safety of my child and her customers. I was APPALLED. Unbelievable disrespect for a young child and a regular customer. Not at all concerned about the wellbeing and safety of her customers. I won't be going back. read more

I have been to this Dollar Tree lots of times and I have never had a bad experience up till last Friday. I grabbed a couple things, only one lane open, line was back up into the isles...that was not the what made it unpleasant...To the cashier who attended me, made me feel very uncomfortable! While I was paying I asked to buy two bags she rolled her eyes. As I was putting the bags in the cart the cashier told me..you do know the the carts can not go outside you need to carry all your things...um yes I do know the carts can not go out out hence the huge poll on that carts preventing them from going outside...I was not at any moment going to try to force that cart out the door..next time I'll leave the cart in the lane and have her put the cart back where it goes if shes so worried about what I'm doing with the cart..I was only putting my things in the cart getting things out the way so she can start on the next person wasnt even heading towards the door yet. Definitely...as good as it gets! We live in Rio Vista and have shopped various Dollar Tree stores throughout the area, but we have learned this is THE Dollar Tree for the Stockton/Fairfield/Vacaville/Lodi area! The store is clean, including the entrance. The shelves are well stocked. The aisles are tidy. And the best part, the staff goes WAY overboard to make sure you are a happy shopper! Once I was in the store and they didn't have as many poster boards as I needed for my project so I asked if they had more. The clerk told me to continue my shopping and he would check the back room because he was pretty sure some had just come in. He came back a few minutes later and found me in the store to give me the number of posters I needed. And get this...twice I've had quite a bit to take to my car...they call someone to do a carry-out! And the carry out person acted as if he was beyond pleased to be helping me...very gracious. I went into this dollar tree today to buy some pens for my friend to use at his work. The moment we walked in the employees proceeded to tell me and my friend that we where not allowed in the store because there was already two students in the store. I am an 18 year old male that is a student at the local high school, there is no reason why i shouldn't be able to come into the store to buy some pens. i then proceeded to ask the employee "why do i have to leave? Im an 18 year old adult, i did nothing wrong." The employee then said, and i quote, "i dont care? your not allowed in here!" At that point i was completely appalled of how i was being treated. This is discrimination. It is illegal to discriminate in ethnicity, sex, and AGE. Its just the same as if they said only two Mexicans, African Americans, or any other ethnicity are not allowed in there store. They also followed me down an isle and harassed me as i was trying to buy the pens. Not only is this poor costumer service, but it is also poor management. The employee also told me that the "rule" has been around for three years. What kind of manager or owner would allow this to go on in there store. I will never go back to this store, and i recommend everyone else to stay away from it too. i would hate for someone to get discriminated against like my friend and i did. It makes me think, if they are discriminating against age, whats gonna stop them from discriminating against ethnicity or sex. read more
