This visit was my first at a Roses in FL. The store was clean and organized. Stock was plentiful. They had exactly what I needed; the $0.50 dish towels. Cotton cloth made in India with random name brands slapped on, but the quality is a crazy deal for the price. Years ago I bought some of the world's finest French linens in St.-Jean-de-Luz France, and lol, these do not compare to those, BUT the daily use linens they also sold (what Williams-Sonoma would sh!t themselves for) are comparable to these dish towels, but cost WAYYYY more! I bought a set of 10 in each color of the white with single color. They even look Provincale! Snipped off the dish towel hang loop, washed in hot water to shrink (and thicken), and voila! My new napkins! The ladies here were so sweet and I even got a discount! Love this store!

I visited the store on Merrill Road in Jacksonville, Florida and encountered extremely rude and unprofessional behavior from Tracy, the store's Assistant Manager. During my visit, Tracy was dismissive and disrespectful in her interactions with me. When I sought assistance, instead of providing help, she spoke to me in a condescending tone and appeared unwilling to address my concerns. This behavior was unacceptable and does not reflect the level of customer service I expect from Big Lots. As a loyal customer of Big Lots for over a decade, I have always appreciated the quality of your products and the convenience of your stores. However, this recent experience has left me deeply disappointed and reconsidering my future patronage. The Big Lots store on Merrill Road needs new management.

I had to let my latest visit "cool" before writing an updated review and get my mind right. Recently (on 6 Apr), I visited the store to pick up a few things for Easter. Upon entry, I was shocked/impressed with the changes, so I took a picture for Yelp at the entrance. I took a few other pictures as well to share since they have undergone some changes like the refrigerator and the housewares areas. An employee, who failed to introduce herself, came at me speaking loudly accusing me of taking a picture of the registers while talking on the phone to someone. I didn't; I got out my phone and showed this female employee the photos and stated I do reviews and was going to post them as being a great change, etc. She repeated what I said to the person on the phone and told them she looked at the photos (odd). She backed down and told me I was ok...but not before obviously drawing attention to me--embarrassing me with no apology. She did explain, "for security reasons........." I get that. Dollar General people...how about asking a customer kindly instead of what took place? It was uncalled for and unacceptable behavior in my opinion. I wish, I wish, I wish I would have dropped the things I was going to purchase and just left. But no, sadly, it happened so quickly I couldn't think straight. I was caught off guard by this rudeness and even found myself shaking a bit. I made the purchase, allowing me to get a survey code though and I shared the experience. No customer should be made to feel the way I did that day. I wasn't doing anything wrong and only planned to help. Now, instead of updating my 5-star review, it became a 1-star review. Right or wrong, kindness goes a long way...doesn't it? Needless to say, there certainly is no need to share pictures of the changes to help them. I don't want to be responsible for a picture of mine drawing anyone there. I won't say I'll never go back to this store, but it gives me great pause and I can no longer recommend it (not this location that is). There is a lot of building going on in this area with more choices than just this store. As a matter of fact, if you need a Dollar General there is a new one down Nine Mile Road (not to mention it's big). I took pictures in there when they first opened and they thanked me since it helps business and were appreciative. Big differences between employees at these two locations, so go to the one on Nine Mile Road if you need a Dollar General. Moreover, there is a Dollar Tree going in near Palencia as well.

I was happy to see that the one in Lake Asbury was still open and not planning on closing. The store was clean a day inviting! Thank you for remaining in the Green Cove Springs area! Somewhat rude, but the cashier was able to efficiently complete her work and gave a genuine customary "have a good night." This location made me realize why I don't like to step foot inside Ross and haven't much in the…read morepast few years. The stores are a complete mess and disorganized. The employees while not intentionally rude, they don't tend to care about providing friendly service. I realized recently that Ross has a decent selection of sandals and as my son is growing quickly, already 3 sizes since the summer started, I wanted to spend less on flip flops and slides. Ross has decent brands for under $15 so this is why we came and I will continue to visit for that reason, but other than that I avoid Ross as much as possible. It's just to chaotic for my liking.
