The dirtiest, most unprofessional Big Lots store I have ever had the displeasure of visiting. The Assistant Manager, Tracy is very rude. I visited the store on Merrill Road in Jacksonville, Florida and encountered extremely rude and unprofessional behavior from Tracy, the store's Assistant Manager. During my visit, Tracy was dismissive and disrespectful in her interactions with me. When I sought assistance, instead of providing help, she spoke to me in a condescending tone and appeared unwilling to address my concerns. This behavior was unacceptable and does not reflect the level of customer service I expect from Big Lots. As a loyal customer of Big Lots for over a decade, I have always appreciated the quality of your products and the convenience of your stores. However, this recent experience has left me deeply disappointed and reconsidering my future patronage. The Big Lots store on Merrill Road needs new management. read more

Big lots is one of my favorite places to shop for a lot if things. I get my box of k-cup from here monthly. I get my detergent, toilet paper, Christmas decorations. I do love to look for household items here such as decor. They have great prices on furniture as well. I check here first before shopping other places. Big Lots never fails when it comes to saving BIG and gaining LOTS of cool merchandise including furniture. Once in a blue moon I would find myself browsing the 'junk mail' we all receive via our postal service. On this particular day, I was searching for new bedding but, didn't want to spend an arm and a leg as I was preparing for weekend visitors in which I kind of cringe at the idea of having overnighters stay in my place of tranquility. (Yes, I am very weird in that sense. LOL!) Overall, I purchased a coral, octagon decor, 8 piece bedding-in-a-bag for $40 (but, also found out Walmart had the same deal with a less varieties.) The customer service was good and the store was well kept. FYI: Big Lots is the perfect spot for off season shopping! read more

Mr Randy store manager at Big Lots store # 1366 Merrill Rd, deserves 10 Stars ! He went beyond the call of duty, I am a senior lady ,my son bought me a reclining chair from Big Lots 7/13/23 . I was having a problem with my chair, Mr Randy came to my house tools and all, he resolve the problem, and now my chair is fine. He would not accept anything , he said he was glad he could help ! Now you all know from now on I will be shopping Big Lots on Merrill Rd. & i'm hoping to run in to Mr Randy. In all my lifetime I have never had customer service like this ! I like Big Lots, but certainly not my favorite store. The have a little bit of everything. I do give them a 5 on organization of the merchandise. They usually have enough Cashier's working and when it get's busy-they get back up assistance. I am not sure about the quality of the furniture they sell, but they display it well and it looks like pretty good quality. They could improve on making sure the products have the prices on the shelf. They occasionally have % off sales. I also have the Member/customer reward card that they scan when I check out. I always save $$ this way. They have food products. The Management staff is visible for staff and customers. They have great sales on Black Friday and until after Christmas. read more

This is not my store, it's my mother's favorite store. She's an avid bargain hunter and loves shopping here on a regular basis. On this visit, she found a over-sized recliner that she's been wanting for years and thanks to the President's Day sale she was finally able to get one. I won't say much about the rest of the store, but I'll give Big Lots credit for having some decent furniture. I found myself checking out the sectionals, recliner sofas, bar stools, and mattresses with bed frames. Also because of the holiday sale the Furniture Department was a little crazy and employees were running around every which way trying to get to all the customers, some of whom were getting tired of waiting to be helped. They did the best they could. Now I know what store to check out first when I need furniture. read more

Jacksonville has got to be one of the most racist states I've ever lived in. Customer service is terrible, they only speak or greet I should say their own. There should really be a better selection of businesses to choose from when spending your money. I don't know how people who are use to diversity live here. read more

Interesting I found myself here today and thought why? I was not going to decorate this year simply because I will be gone most of the holiday but I caved. Out of all the places available to me this was the closest and priced similar to Wally World, and less expensive than Tarjay. It was the correct choice. All the trees were 50% off just the right size and they were pre wired. Lot's of staff on the registers and floating around to assist the lost, weary and confused. There really are a plethora of goods way under market price and brand names. As well as mystery vendors. I stopped in here a month ago to look for some emergency kitchen items and found what I needed at a much lower price point. It's worth the trip if you never have been just to get an idea pf what is available. Just in case. read more

My wife loves Big Lots and I go when I have to. Like when she says to. Today I went in this one cause they closed the one by us. I wanted something and they had it. Just not the one that I wanted so our dog will sleep on the floor again. The store is big (an old Publix's) but it is cluttered and has stuff everywhere. I mean there's wrappers where I guess someone wanted something out of a package. So she can go back for I'm almost done with the place. read more

I love the prices at Big Lots. Now, granted it's not the most organized place in the world, but once you find stuff the prices make it worth while. They have a lot of household stuff like pillows, cleaning supplies, towels, etc. They also have grocery items.. some name brands, some store brands. I usually go here when I need something and don't want to pay a lot for it. They don't always have enough people working though so you may encounter a longer than expected wait line at the register. read more

Every store is a little different, this one offers a great selection of many staple & unusual items. Lots of imports, overstocks, etc at discount prices. Great place to at least supplement if not replace your grocery store weekly shop. Check them out during any holidays for additional items. read more

The worst service. As I walked in with my family who are not white, the two cashiers at the front did not greet us but stared us down until out of sight. When in the mattress department we waited in line behind one other customer. We waited quietly and patiently. A group of men came in and started sitting on all of the couches. There was only one woman working that department and she asked a man in the back to come over and help the men that were sitting down. When it was our turn to speak with the sales associate she never greeted us but walked to the back. When she came out again she again did not speak to us but to the men that came in after us. When she offered the men help first my fiancé mentioned he only had a question about the clearance mattresses in the back as there were none to select from in the main store. She flipped through a book saying she didn't really know the inventory and that she didn't have anything left. We left the store as there was nothing there to our liking without a word from any associate. And I am only posting this review because of how obvious these employees made it that we were bothering them and how uncomfortable they made us feel.
