My daughter and Inwalked in a short time before closing and both employees names are April and Brock. Not only did we walk in shortly before and as they're both cleaning up the store, putting items back where they belong you know the typical closing routine. Without hesitation they helped my daughter and myself find items throughout the store. I was in a hurry and did not know layout of store and with Dollar Tree not all stores carry everything other stores may. I must say, Brock and April we're so helpful, friendly, not bothered by helping us like most closing employees would be and to be quite honest, these two employees are KEEPERS and should be recognized for their amazing dedication to not only their job, most importantly the consumers!! I will shop back at this store again. I had several bad experiences at this location 5+ years ago and never shopped here until tonight. so happy I did and the store gained my business back Due to these two awesome individual!! THIS Dollar tree next to Sav-alot is waay better than the one across from Arborland. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful!! The store looks well kept . One of the lady- staffer always teases me that I spend way too much time shopping. I originally tell she Im just running in for a few things, and end up spending over an hour going up and down all the areas. That other Dollar Tree has a really rude guy working there. He was snippy with me when I placed my own bag on the counter. I prefer to use my larger nylon bags instead of a bunch of their bags. This is the largest Dollar Tree that I've ever been to, and interestingly enough, the only one I've ever been to without carpet. Like any other Dollar Tree, there is just so much stuff. What stuff, you ask? Just stuff. Loads of it. Mostly cheaper version stuff of things that you would buy normally, with a dash of useless stuff mixed in. I don't dislike this Dollar Tree at all, but I'm not impressed by it in any aspect other than size. The cashiers have ranged from rude to bored, and there are never enough of them. This location is consistently busy. The lines aren't always long, but with only one or two cashiers tethered to their registers, and no one else in sight, it's a bit difficult to get help finding things in such a vast and unorganized store. This Dollar Tree was right around the corner from where I lived when I was in college. I definitely stopped in 1 to 2 times per week to pick up small items for classes, to pick up snacks, or to grab miscellaneous items for around the house. I almost always found exactly what I was looking for and if I couldn't find it I would go to the other dollar tree on Washtenaw Avenue in Ann Arbor a few miles away. It's best to keep in mind that this is a dollar store, so sometimes an item will break or not be of the best quality, but overall I found the staff to be fairly kind and friendly and the items to be of decent to good quality. read more

I live just around the corner and I come to this store a lot because it's convenient, and normally it's a very pleasant experience- friendly staff, etc. This morning I was in because I'd forgotten the grocery store opened at 9, so I had ten minutes to kill, and I thought I'd look at dessert plates and candles. So I wandered around the store for awhile, but they didn't have the kind of plates I wanted, and I didn't see anything else I needed. By then the grocery was open, so I headed out. A gentleman I think may have been the manager stopped me to ask if I hadn't found what I was looking for. I said no, I hadn't. I had my phone out because I was (I thought) obviously busy and in a hurry. At any other store I could have left at this point, but the gentleman walked closer to me and kept asking me questions about what I wanted to buy. I started to get the feeling he thought I had stolen something, which isn't a feeling you want to give your customers. I legitimately didn't want to buy anything that day, and I resent being made to feel like I should have purchased something to avoid being questioned. I would recommend (as a retail manager myself) that your employees only ask ONCE if there is anything they can help a customer find. Yes, loss sucks, but it's less than the price of a lost customer, which currently I am. It may not have been that employee's intent to make me feel that way, but that was the result of his actions, and I now feel so awkward and embarrassed that I do not plan to return. read more

This store is huge, there is so much stuff, I love it. Unfortunately there are only a few employees that are actually very nice and helpful and seem to care about there job and GOOD Customer Service. And quit a few that don't. They are Very unpleasant and unfriendly, which makes it a unpleasant place to shop unfortunately. Because the Manger Mr.Otis,does do a very nice job with store. Julia one of the Mangers there is the nicest person you'll ever meet. Also Michelle is one of the cashiers there, she is also so friendly and the most helpful employee there. The younger cashiers here could be nicer. At least say hi to your customers. Dont audibly sigh or show annoyance when dealing w customers. I know they dont teach that in high school but come on. Customer comes first. Dont treat me like a nuisance especially when I'm being polite n easy to work with. read more

This store is convenient location for me and I am in there often. My only complaint is the floors/rug at the entrance are terrible. I don't think they ever get vacuum or cleaned. I was there last week and the floor at the check isle I was in was filthy. Do they ever clean the floors. I am giving 2 stars because of the uncleanliness of the store. I like this store. I live near it, so it's convenient. I feed peanuts to squirrels, and it's by far the cheapest source I've found for them. Yes, there's a lot of stuff, but it's good for its commerce slot. I REALLY like their book selections. I'm like a kid in a candy store, looking through them. There's much turnover of selections, most of them hardbacks, with dust jackets. I've found very good memoirs, memoirs, and topical subjects among them, from sports to dog training. Really, there are books there for the tastes of almost anyuone. I just wish they had a seat, as are found in shoe stores, there, since many of the books are just above floor level. Many are second books written by best selling ''one hit wonder' authors. Many others are by authors who are just as good, if not a lot better, than those authors whose titles make it to the best sellers lists. It's hard to beat getting a new hardback for a dollar. If you spend a little time at that I've found the cashiers friendly and efficient. No, you won't find many workers, and they won't come up to ask if they can help you. But the store's well stocked, tidy shelves, with what most households need on a regular basis, including a selection of foods, packaged, canned and frozen. I saw one review that said this place was dirty. I never saw it dirty, and I've been in there many times. Sure, the front mat gets grubby. But the floors are fine. there was only two lady's that were working and they started complaining about not having a break all day and they've been there since 9am and told all the customers to stop coming in line and not for people to come in line behind the people already in line so i told the cashier there's two more people behind me that she didn't see. one of the lady's starter caught an attitude with me for telling the cashier they're people behind and they've been behind me the whole time. then proceeded to caught an attitude and started calling me and the two people i was with Karen's for simply just saying there are two people behind us. and proceeded to not finish the lady in front of us all she needed left was cash and receipt and she was just staring at me like i was stupid while the lady was asking for her change. they are the most unprofessional people i've ever been around not having good costumer services. read more
