I used Dolly to deliver a large Lowe's order and had one of the most unsafe and unacceptable service experiences I've ever had. The assigned helper was verbally aggressive from the very first phone call--yelling, using profanity, and refusing to provide basic information needed for Lowe's to release my order. Because of his behavior, I contacted Dolly support and explicitly asked for him to be removed, stating I did not feel safe having him come to my home. Dolly told me the delivery would be reassigned. I received messages confirming this. Despite that, the same helper showed up at my house anyway. He arrived angry, continued yelling, called me names, accused me of lying about my order, complained about how little he was being paid, and said the job wasn't worth his time. He even stated he should steal my items rather than return them to the store. At that point I felt unsafe and asked him to leave. He drove away with my entire $800+ order still in his truck and did not return it to Lowe's. This wasn't just poor service--it was a complete breakdown of safety, communication, and accountability. Reassignments should actually mean reassignment, especially when a customer raises safety concerns. Dolly failed at that basic responsibility. I would strongly caution anyone--especially women--against using this service for home deliveries unless Dolly seriously improves its safety protocols and support follow-through. read more

I tried to communicate to confirm a furniture pickup I had scheduled on the app but got no response. At the time the pickup was supposed to take place, I got an email saying they hadn't assigned my job to anyone and that I should go back and choose another day and time, but no guarantee that it would be assigned or completed. What a weird business model. "Let us help you get your delivery scheduled and delivered. Psych! Just kidding. We can't help at all. We used Dolly for a furniture delivery from an outlet store. At first we were excited as they had availability for the same day. But once the delivery drivers arrived they were completely unprepared to move our large dresser upstairs. They claimed they weren't aware of the size, that it was too heavy. Upon ordering the delivery it was made very clear what was being delivered (large dresser), and that it was being delivered up a set of stairs within a single family home. The drivers accepted this job knowing this information, and it was part of what we paid the $189 fee to cover. The drivers only had a metal dolly with them, no padding, no protection, no straps, or any other materials to help get the dresser up safely. We offered many options in terms of helping to protect the furniture or the floors during moving, which they refused, saying they could figure it out. As a result, they left deep scratches in our wood floors both in the hallway and the bedroom, as well as chunks taken out of our wooden stairs. Dolly refuses to cover any of the damages and only allows claims for damage to the furniture (which was also chipped, but underneath in a spot not visible). Their unprepared and unprofessional delivery drivers caused $1,800 worth of damage to our wood floors and stairs. We got quotes from 3 different flooring companies to understand the extent of the damage, all of which said they scratches were too deep to easily fill, and instead the floors had to be sanded down and refinished to match, just to give you an idea of how badly they scratched the floors. Dolly refuses to cover even a refund for the delivery fee. They are pushing us back to the retailer, but the retailer is trying to push liability back to Dolly. All in all, Dolly's claim service was unhelpful and dismissive, their delivery drivers were unprepared and unprofessional. Buyer beware, especially if you're a renter, if they screw up your apartment or your building's hallway, elevators, floors etc., you'll be on the hook. read more

This was the WORST experience I've ever had with movers. The driver arrived late and had stuff from other job sites in his truck,argued with me that I was moving two rooms because I lived in a two bed (my room mate moved out earlier in the month), was slurring his words and clearly was high. I paid for my washing machine to be taken and the driver came up with a million excuses for why they may not be able to take it. They took over 6 hours to bring all my stuff to my new apartment that was less than 15 miles away, damaged my furniture and got oil stains on my couch and rust on my beam bag. I've had two "helpers" cancel on me the the last minute. Bob's is threatening to sell my furniture if it doesn't get picked up by tonight. It is currently the December 16th 7:26PM, and I still don't have my furniture delivered. 2) The Dolly App hardly ever works. I was not able to send or receive texts throughout the day. I'm writing on behalf of a woman I just met, who is 64 years old, recovering from a broken hip, works full time in the medical field and has just moved to Massachusetts for her job, leaving the rest of her family in Maine, therefore depending on the help of a moving company to make sure all her belongings were safely stored in her storage unit while shes staying in a hotel waiting for her apartment to be ready. I happened to be outside the night she arrived at the hotel and offered her a hand bringing her stuff to her room. she Told me that she didn't want to bring everything that was in the car up to her room, she was storing it in her car because she couldn't get into her storage unit to pack it away. She explained that she paid a moving company to bring everything from her previous apartment because she had no help and no local support... when she went there the way they packed the storage unit made it impossible for her to get the door open, so I offered to take a ride with her that weekend to give her a helping hand. Honestly at fi I thought she was just a little overwhelmed and stressed out possibly exaggerating the condition of of her locker. Well, I was beyond wrong. With the help of an employee we finally got the door open and it was an absolute disaster. Everything was stuck behind her couch and under her two mattresses and box spring, her tv was stuck between two chairs with a scratch in the middle of the screen ($1000 smart tv) her mothers Tiffany's lamp was upside down diagonally laying across the boxes, she gave them blankets to cover her white couch, her tv, her shadow box with a silver spoon collection with a glass frame... nothing was covered. The spoon collection was out of the frame dropped randomly in different places... this is already turning into a novel and although I could sit here all night adding to the list of unacceptable movers mistakes, I think the few examples listed are more than enough proof that this company is completely unprofessional and took advantage of a woman that was desperate for help, assuring her they would take care of everything and telling her to trust them with her property they would treat it as if it were their own. On top of the company's basic price, she gave each mover a $200 tip because she was so grateful!!!! She made the mistake of giving them the tip as they left her apartment, before they went to put it in storage, so by the time she saw the catastrophe she had already lost another $400 on top of the original fees. When she called to ask them to come help her open it, their response was "we aren't responsible for what happens after the move" So, that's why I'm writing this review, I want the word to get around that this company is a fraud and a group of thieves praying on people in need. I will be attaching pictures shortly. I'm interested in seeing if they will do the right thing and make this right. It's really too bad because I had a FANTASTIC experience with the movers I hired through Dolly. This review is not of the movers, but of Dolly itself: TERRIBLE customer service and complete DENIAL of TRIPLE CHARGING for the job. Here's how it went down - so beware: The day after the movers completed the move, I received a text from Dolly saying that my card had been declined and to submit new payment information online. I went online, couldn't find a way to change my payment for that job, so I contacted support via email. They said the payment was all set, no worries. A week later I looked at my bank statement, and they had charged me the full job amount three times: once on the day of service, and twice two days after they said my card had been declined. Not sure why they reached out to me to say my card hard declined after it had gone through the day before, but I figured it had just been a mistake - no harm, no foul - so I reached out to support again via email. They said they could only see one charge for the full amount of the job that I was quoted, and maybe it was a hold on the card that would clear within a few business days. Wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt, I waited another couple of weeks; but it didn't clear - these were not holds. A week later, I emailed again, with the same response. After I received this email, I called Dolly support directly, at which point they insisted they had only charged me once. With my bank account pulled up in front of me, I told them the exact days I had been charged and how much each time. The person I spoke with simply shut down and continued to state they only charged me once. At this point, I reached out to my bank to file a dispute - but before I could, they told me to try with Dolly one more time. A week later and a phone call to Dolly with a different person, and they were incredibly rude and insistent that they only charged me once. I opened a dispute with the bank for the two additional charges on my card. I was charged in late June 2023. Finally, mid-September 2023, I was refunded through my bank, and Dolly took absolutely no responsibility. In the dispute updates, the bank stated that they had reached out to Dolly but had not received any response - I guess the bank has to give the company a certain amount of time to respond, which is why it took so long. Overall I got to where I needed to be, my items were moved safely, quickly, and efficiently, and it did all work out. But what's most frustrating is that MOVING ISN'T CHEAP, and CHARGING YOUR CUSTOMERS THREE TIMES can really f*** up your finances as you get settled in a new place. Take some responsibility, Dolly. I won't be using them again, but will look up my movers directly, because they were incredible. read more

This has been the absolute worst moving experience I've ever had. I booked Dolly movers online with 2 movers (labor only) a week ago for a moving date on 07/31. However, this morning, just 5 minutes before the scheduled time, the mover texted me and said he couldn't make it. He wanted to reschedule for 2 pm, otherwise, he would give the slot to other movers. We went back and forth through texts, and then suddenly, he said he was available after all. Once he arrived, he took a look at my room and said he couldn't finish moving in just 2 hours, and he asked me to cancel the order. It's so frustrating because if they knew they couldn't handle a room in 2 hours, why didn't they tell me when I placed the order in the first place? The distance between the two moving locations, A and B, is literally just a 5-minute walk, and I was only moving one room. This whole experience has been such a waste of my time. The team accepted our reservation for an apartment move a month in advance, and then changed the timing on us at 10pm the day before the move. When we tried to get some assurance that we would have movers in the morning, the help line mentioned that we would either need to pay a fee or stick with the new time slot. We had our elevator reserved for the previous slot, and this almost caused us to miss our move in date entirely. This was AMAZING! We went to Big Lots to check out patio furniture - the set was too big to fit in our Durango. Big Lots suggested we call Dolly.com - I was skeptical...Anyway, we called at 6:15 and got a response at 6:20 that they could pick up the 5 piece patio set, deliver it to our house 30 minutes away at 7:30 pm - $59 including set up - So at 7:30 we received a text that they had pick the items up at 8:10 they pulled into the drive way by 9:30 we were having a glass of wine on our new patio set - its uber for people that need something hauled! I have never in my life had a worse experience with a company. I hired 2 dolly movers to transport 6 large furniture items from my current apartment to my new one for $555. The movers arrived late, broke some of my furniture, disassembled my couch against my wishes and then refused to reassemble it, and worst of all - they got mad at me for requesting that they reassembly my couch so they abandoned the job halfway through, dropping my queen-sized mattress on the parking garage floor and leaving right then and there. I still have the TV cover they were using on my TV because they never finished moving it and left without collecting the cover. To top it all off, I had to do more than a third of the labor, despite hiring 2 movers, because they were incompetent and were breaking my things and because one of the movers was a small, older gentleman who was unable to move most items. Dolly never reimbursed me or compensated me in any way and their support staff has stopped responding to my emails altogether. They straight up robbed me of $555 dollars + damages and left me stranded with half-moved furniture and an unnecessarily disassembled couch. Never again will I use dolly. Much better off paying a bit more for a moving company that knows what they're doing and has competent staff instead of gig-workers that clearly are not vetted. read more

I had such a great experience with Dolly. I hired them to move a dining room set that I had purchased on Craigslist. The online booking was really easy, although I somehow managed to enter the wrong deliver address. I had no idea what to expect, who would show up, would they be on time, how would they treat my furniture, etc., but I was pleasantly surprised. The 2 guys that arrived (on time) were totally professional and incredibly nice.... Even though my wrong address entry sent them 30 minutes out of the way. The woman I spoke with at customer service was also very nice when she helped me correct my address error and get the guts back on track. I was very impressed with the whole process and so thankful to have the service available to me at such reasonable rates. read more

I've really never had a worse experience than I have had with Dolly, and I cannot emphasize enough my advice to avoid them at all costs. We paid for two movers, but only one showed up. We subsequently sold some of our furniture, and I moved much of our stuff into our apartment on a still-recovering broken ankle. Aside from this, what's been so devastating is their customer service: it's been more than a week and no one from customer service has called us. I left a similar comment on Facebook - rather than calling us, they simply deleted our comments. They sent us some automated, non-sensical text messages? I have really never commented on a companiy's Facebook or Yelp page, but it's beyond frustrating to have received such horrific service, and to be unable to get anyone on the phone. I booked almost a week in advance for a move and was cancelled on 5 minutes before my start window began (start window began at 1:30 and got the cancellation email at 1:25 see photos). This left me with 3 cars of stuff to move and no help. Extremely disappointed because the reason I used this company in the first place was because I have an injury and can't really be lifting boxes all day. Then I got an email that said "we are already looking hard to find you a replacement dolly" and almost an hour went by and ... nothing. I cancelled because I had cars full of stuff to unload and this was an out of state move so I was really out of luck. They then had the nerve to email me and ask what they could have done to prevent me canceling ... maybe not canceling on me? I sent a lengthy message to the customer service email, I'll post an update if they are helpful at all.
