Friendly, down home but healthier than those words imply! Order at the counter and they will call your name in an "order up!" fashion for you to come grab your made to order food. Bus your own dishes too (unless they aren't busy.) The Gorilla burger was an open faced treat: artisan bread, cheese sauce, perfectly done thick cut smoked bacon, onion, mushrooms. Num! The gyro salad was tasty and came with a fresh popover with sweet butter. The employees were efficient and the decor had antique lunchboxes combined with thoroughly modern touches.

If you know me by now, you recognize this line; "It is a 4.5 star review but Yelp won't let me give that score". With help from other Yelp reviewers we found this great diner while passing through Saint Cloud. Parking is at a premium in the area, but it was worth walking the extra couple blocks. When we got there around lunchtime, it was very busy. However, the staff was courteous and helpful. The restaurant was also very clean. I ordered the fish taco special. The filets were freshly battered and had excellent flavor. The tacos were garnished nicely. The serving size was just right for lunch. The creamy chicken tortilla soup had just the right amount of spice and really worked well with the tacos. My dining partner had a turkey, ham and bacon club sandwich. It was so filling she ate half. She ordered the cottage fries, "Ollie's". While they were different, they were probably the least favorite of the items we ate. She also like her sandwich. Overall, we'd go back. Nice atmosphere, reasonable prices and good food!

Had a tasty lunch here after a business meeting in St Cloud. Typical counter service where you order, pay and they call your name when your order is ready. My wife had the fish & chips, and I had the cheese steak sandwich. It took close to 20 minutes for our food to be prepared while we watched orders go out for others who ordered after us. I was also little put off when they wouldn't serve us a glass of tap water, but said that we could buy a bottle from them. They have glasses, a sink and ice, but wouldn't give it to us. Prices have increased significantly from earlier menus on yelp, so I added a current one to this review. Overall, good food, slow service, above average prices, especially for St. Cloud. I was torn between 3 or 4 stars, but was generous.

Great and fast service. Wanted to try some regional cuisine so had the walleye sandwich. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Great place! I ordered a pastrami with sauerkraut sandwich that was recommended by the young lady taking the order, plus an order of Ollie's -- their unique take on basically thin disc French fries. The order came up quickly, and was delicious. The Ollie's came with some cheese dip, and ketchup was available too.

We happened to stumble upon Dolsie's as we ventured through St Cloud and of course looking at Yelp. This place was packed at 12:30 on a Saturday. Many families also. We could tell we were at a good pic when the locals flocked here. The tables were all taken, so we joined a group at a large community table. The paint color and decor inside was charming and you could tell they take pride in keeping their restaurant in nice condition. Food: my hubby and I both decided we wanted a hot sandwich... even though so many things sounded good. I got the chicken Philly cheesesteak with provolone (with mushroom and onions) and my hubby got the steak philly with cheese wiz and all the veggies (onion and green peppers). The bread was incredible on these! The meat and flavors were perfect. We couldn't have asked more from a little cafe. Also, the Oli's (fried potatoes with cheese) were great! Btw... there was a line when we walked in and we waited about 15-20 minutes for our food. Worth the wait. If in a hurry, maybe visit during not peak hours?? If eating inside, grab a spot at a table while you wait in line. Also... next time we plan to try a wrap, soup, popover, and a cupcake! All looked amazing! Thanks for a great place!

Amazing experience. Friendly staff, food hot & ready very quickly and tasted great!! Not only all of those great traits as a restaurant - the place was clean, well-kept and had a great atmosphere. Thanks for such a good downtown St. Cloud experience!

You think of conceding to good ol' Perkins, and think again. You google a few things. Something cute comes up. The drive is short enough, and facilitates the mandatory stop through Savers to peruse the electronics for that thing you had when you were 12. "Brigette's Cafe looks good, let's try it." Best decision of the day. The chicken fried steak special was delicious, nay, straight bussin. I still have no idea how it's actually made, and I don't care. The hash browns were perfect, and dare I say, picturesque. Eat your heart out, Norman Rockwell. The rye toast was delectable, with only butter to complement. I will be back. I will try the pancake platters. The best part? I'm a whole-ass adult... and nobody can stop me.

Not so much the receptionist, though--she could stand to learn a bit more, since she's in a position to interact with customers; at the very least, she should say "welcome" and "thank you." What I tried was delicious, but most importantly, as a chef, everything was prepared with high quality and served on time. I want to mention the hash browns, for example. Most--or I'd say almost all--chain restaurants use the wrong oil, or it's old or rancid. That's not the case at Brigitte's. Brigitte's isn't a chain, which is great. And the pancakes are so light they almost float in the air. Until next time....

It's a bit hard to see as it's tucked into a corner behind a parking garage. Follow the signage for parking. It's a nice concept - having a nice restaurant near senior housing, apartments and assisted living, so that family members have a place where they can take their loved ones for a decent meal. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with wood and stone. There are a couple of televisions, above the fireplace. There's a bar. There's a separate room, if you want a gathering space for your family for a special event. The menu is pretty extensive - burgers, wraps, breakfast, steak, chicken, salads, sandwiches, soup, and more. We ordered a Rachel sandwich and a breakfast wrap. Both were tasty enough. My fries were a bit soggy, and the crust on the marbled rye bread was overly crisp. The hashbrowns served with the wrap were nice and crisp. Our server provided attentive and friendly service. The restaurant is small and intimate. This is nice, unless you have some loud talkers seated near you (as we had). Their loud talking made it very difficult for my beloved and I to have a decent conversation and be able to hear. All in all, Drakes is a nice option to have. The food was better than I expected. I'd certainly give it another try. They do offer daily specials, and on occasion, have live music.

No problem, we ended up waiting, maybe 15 minutes to get a table. There were 4 of us. That wasn't an issue and the staff was great. We got seated at our table and our waiter, I believe his name was Benjamin, was awesome. Great guy, didn't pressure us to order right away. Gave us time to look and would check in on us. All around great service. He was a 5 star! Even the atmosphere, with it being busy, was what you would expect. A lot of people talking and having a good time, no problems, no issues. We were kind of set back in the corner, which I'm thankful for, because we didn't have the noise from the Brunch area. The reason for the 3 stars is because of the food. With 4 people being served, you would think they would get the fries right? They were over seasoned on everyone's plate, horribly over seasoned. You might as well have been dipping them straight into the container of whatever seasoning was on them. Of the 4 orders of French fries, we left 2 orders on the table. I ordered the Gastro Pub Bison Burger, medium. Benjamin even started it was going to have some pink in the middle, and I said yes. The ticket even stated it. I don't know why they even put it on the ticket if they're going to cook it done. The burger ended up being over cooked and dry. It was a Bison burger, so there's plenty of moisture in those burgers when cooked to medium. This thing comes out as a little nothing sized burger. I wasn't impressed with it at all. My wife's order, Spinach and Artichoke Chicken Sandwich, came out good and she ate it all and really enjoyed it. One daughter had ordered a Buffalo Chicken Wrap. She's had them before at other places and was excited to try their's. Came out ok except for the, what she stated as being too spicy. And again, the fries were over seasoned. My other daughter order a Spicy Dill Flatbread, which turned out really good. She was the only one of us who did like the over seasoned fries. Now when it comes to food, I never send anything back and i don't say anything because we might not be done with ordering. I have the biggest fear about retaliation. You hear the stories from someone you know, of possibly something being a little sketchy when food is reordered or it comes back out, so I just don't do it. I have been here before and it is pretty much the same as I remember it. The staff being great, but the food just being not worth it. The funny thing is it's the Chef's name is on the door when you come in the building. If I was him, I'd be a little embarrassed that his cooking staff can't do a medium burger and do some retraining. At least watch what the cooking staff is doing while preparing food that his name is associated with. I don't need to go back there and eat.
