Having access to top-notch Korean fried chicken just down the road from my work has now changed all lunches from now on. I ordered my meal ahead of time through DoorDash, and it turned out to be an easy and quick pickup with the food being hot and fresh when I arrived. The wings are by far the best Korean fried chicken I've had, with every piece packed with juicy meat. This is exactly what you expect when ordering this dish, and the honey sesame sauce did not disappoint one bit. The wings were perfectly coated, and there was still a pool of sauce for dipping at the bottom of the container. Next time I will definitely turn up the heat and try one of their spicier sauce options to experience that flavor profile. The nicely fried mandoo pork dumplings were full of a delicious filling mixture that paired perfectly with the soy vinegar dipping sauce. My girlfriend, son and I came here on a Saturday at 5:15 hoping to beat the dinner rush but it was already packed. We were lucky to get a table at all. It remained packed our entire time there. BYOB so my girlfriend and I brought two beers with us and they provided glasses. We ordered three main dishes and two appetizers and all of the food was amazing. Soups, dumplings, bibimbap, bulgogi... all flavorful and delicious. Despite the crowded dining room, everything came out quickly. The servers were all incredibly kind, efficient and professional. Friendly staff and good service, but the food was underwhelming. The cold noodles weren't served ice cold, and the broth lacked the refreshing, bold flavor I was expecting. The tofu stew was also fairly bland and could have used more depth and seasoning. This review is for Take out only! I ordered 10 pieced Korean fried chicken wings with honey sesame sauce and L.A. Kalbi rice bowl to go through their website. When I walked in around 4pm on a Sunday the place was pretty packed and you can smell all the good food! Excited to get home to eat. First off the wings were extra crispy and the honey sesame glaze was absolutely delicious. The wings were meaty and it was just so good. Sweet and savory and just perfect. The L.A. Kalbi rice bowl came with tons of marinated short ribs which was a great portion to what you pay for. The meat had a great grilled flavor and fell off the bone tender. It comes with white rice and sauteed carrots and onions. Over all the price was $40+ but it was so much food I was able to make 3 meals out of it! The best Korean food I've had in a very long time! Got take out. Drove 20 mins there and back. Get home and the stew was missing half the ingredients I asked for. Called over 10 times with no answer as it said the line was busy. After 20 minutes of waiting for someone to pick up, we drove back, asked for proper ingredients, and were given an attitude. We come here too often are are far too loyal of customers to be treated that way. Then we were told they were out of Enoki once they added everything. It would have been nice to receive a phone call asking if we wanted a different topping. This is not the first time they forgot ingredients, but I previously let it slide. Actually drove 1.5 hours to Dolsot House just to try it out. Didn't disappoint if you're craving Korean bbq or a dolsot. They have a bunch of different dolsot varieties on the menu, but we ended up getting tofu soups, seafood pancake and the recommended wings. The pancake sauce wasn't the sauce that I'm used to getting. This sauce has a bit of vinegar. The pancake itself was a bit mushy, couldn't been fried a little bit longer. The kalbi was missing a marinade taste, but on the bland side. The wings were good, I liked the sauce. The tofu soup I didn't try because it was for the kids, but the bulgogi was alright. Overall, Dolsot House serves solid Korean food with eager, if not rushed, service; however, on this visit the restaurant struggled with its A/C unit, eventually turning it off and opening the door where the humid summer evening was cooler than the sweatbox the restaurant had become. We were surprised to learn that banchan refills were limited to 3: we decided just to refill the pickled cucumber. While the mandu (6 to an order, evenly crispy, with great dipping sauce) and jap chae (flavorful) were terrific, the scallion and kimchi pancakes were very well done on the outside and a bit underdone in the center. I like Dolsot. Been going here for 8-9 years. Their wings are still pretty good. Japchae yummy. Food is decent. BUT TIPPING CULTURE IS OUT OF HAND! Not just here but everywhere in America in general. You go to other countries, and they don't even REQUIRE it. It's an insult to tip in some places. My husband placed an order for him and his coworkers lunch. The lady on the phone after stating the total goes "that's a big order, no tip?" First of all, it's for take out. Someone from work is going to pick it up. Since when do we tip on take out orders? But that's not what gets me. After my husband said "No" to the tipping question, because they are "picking it up" and not eating at the restaurant, the lady on the phone says "OK BYE" and HANGS UP the phone on my husband. So rude. I hate rude customer service. If we ate there, we would gladly tip for our service! My husband and I are very openhanded when it comes to our food workers and we appreciate servers everywhere for the things they go through in the industry. But no, the food was being picked up. And she acted like she was entitled to a tip because the order was big. When she was denied, she hung up the phone. That turned me off so much. Came back yesterday and picked up food to go. This is one of the Korean restaurants I always order from. Last night, I ordered the Kalbi box and spicy chicken box (level 3). Great prices with a lot of food. Each box came with rice, japchae noodles and salad. I opted for red/brown rice, which is very good here. My Japchae noodles were perfect with a ton of veggies packed inside. Love the creamy sesame salad dressing and my chicken was very juicy. The kalbi box was a bit of a disappointment. The kalbi was extra fatty and chewy, the japchae noodles were Al stuck and clumped together with hardly any vegetables, and the pickled radish was missing. Two different people prepared the bento boxes because mine was great. You can definitely tell the difference in the noodles by the picture since one has no veggies and the other is packed. I got the spicy chicken dolsot level 2, I thought there would be some spice for level 2 but it turns out there's no spice, would recommend doing level 3 if you want a kick. The portions are generous, I had enough for another meal. I tried my partners kalbi dolsot, the cuts of meat were too fatty for my liking. We also had the soy garlic and spicy Korean fried chicken. Hole-in-the-wall Korean spot with a solid menu of options and phenomenal Korean fried chicken I stopped here for lunch with my GF on our way up to CT from DC. The place is fairly small, but they've managed to fit a fair amount of tables inside. When we were here (a weekday around 12 PM) almost all of them were full! Dishes come with a small selection of Korean tapas/side dishes as is the case with many Korean places. My GF and I split 4 piece fried chicken appetizer. On their menu it says that their Korean Fried Chicken Wings were voted best in southern NJ, and I could see why! They have 4 different sauces that you can choose from. I can't remember the flavor we got, but, whatever jt was, it was fantastic. It's also really nice that they offer the wings in a bunch of different serving sizes, which is how we were able to only order 4 of them. I also saw that they offer a sandwich that is filled with their Korean fried chicken, and that it got some publicity as well. I'll have to try it if I come back I ordered their steak Dolsot and it was huge! On the menu it says that you can customize your dish's level of spicy-ness, and order for spicy on a scale of 1-4, but I forgot to do this and they just gave it to me without any spice at all. Also, they got my GF's order completely wrong, we didn't say anything because she liked what they gave her anyway, but two signs of not great service. This was confusing because otherwise the service was great. They were very attentive, friendly, and our food came out very quickly. The restaurant offers good selection of food. All taste fairly good. My favorite of my order was the tonkatsu; the portion was quite large and it was fried and seasoned really well. The dolsot bi bim bap was mostly good but the rice was a bit more wet than what I'm used to. I like that the restaurant gives you the gochujang sauce; I was able to put as much as I would like without having to ask for more if I needed more.
