Not a huge fan of sports bars but figured I would give this place a try. It was a central place to meet up with friends with easy access and large parking lot. First impression: stepped on a condom in the parking lot. Ewww. Inside, as expected: lots of TVs, loud pulsing music, bar was crowded with Happy Hour. There were a few drinks specials for Happy Hour. I picked the $6 Orange Crush. Not a lot of alcohol but refreshing nonetheless less. Our table seemed happy with our wing, soup and salad orders. Happy Hour includes boneless wings only so not sure if that means chicken nuggets or tenders. I picked bone in, naked wings with mild sauce on the side. It arrived on the table freshly cooked, piping hot and crispity. Pretty meaty so I was happy with it. I asked for a take out order of spicy chicken sandwich. I live 5 minutes away. Still warm on arrival but it looked like no care was taken for this $14 sandwich. Bun was tiny and crushed, portion of fries seemed pretty small compared to what we got in our meals. I've been going to PJ's for years and my most recent visit at the Cherry Hill location wasn't a good one. The only reason I'm giving PJ's two stars is because the service we've received over the years has generally been good. A couple of years ago, my family was eating there when my grandmother actually went into cardiac arrest at the table. Thankfully, paramedics were able to revive her. It was an unbelievable situation, and I'll always remember how serious that day was. Unfortunately, my most recent experience left me very disappointed. We had a general question for the manager, John, and his attitude toward us was very unfriendly and dismissive. He approached us as if we were bothering him, didn't greet us like a good manager would have, and made us feel like we shouldn't have asked the question in the first place. That's not how I would expect a manager to interact with customers. I'm also concerned about the cleanliness of the restaurant. I personally saw a mouse running around the restaurant when I was there in February. In addition, someone I know who has been inside the kitchen told me they observed a significant amount of what appeared to be rodent droppings. I can't personally verify what they saw in the kitchen, but combined with the mouse I witnessed myself, it's concerning enough that I think the health department should take a look. Good servers and staff can only do so much when management and cleanliness are concerns. I really hope these issues are addressed. read more

Well, my faith in PJ Whelahan's has been restored! In addition to the food and the one dish, Southwest chicken salad with extra barbecue sauce, that I enjoy so much, our service was top notch. Our server, Brielle, really made our experience tonight an extra good one. She was so friendly, and what the epitome of a server should be. Brielle was bubbly, and you can tell that her vibe was genuine. We both even complemented her on that bubbly personality, which was appreciated. Tonight's visit was the first where I redeemed a birthday reward. I let my Sir enjoy it because I am still rebounding from the extra holiday indulgences. Went there for lunch and two of us got the fall special a.k.a. gobbler. it wasn't very good. The gobbler at Wawa is much better and cheaper. We had trouble finding the stuffing on the sandwich and could they spare the gravy. Suggestion... Bring an extra cup of gravy with one of these. I think before you send the meal out to the customer someone should look at it and say " what I eat this?" So did you also hear opening a PJs in Somers point don't get me wrong I like PJs. Not only did we celebrate our Gender Reveal here (Maple Shade location) but we then celebrated our daughter's 1st birthday at the Cherry Hill location! When I say the day went perfectly as planned, I mean it. I swear, P.J.'s hires the NICEST staff. The event space here is perfect for a party of 50-60 people! There's a private bar, tons of room for guests to sit, a stage, and even a projector if you want to have something playing during your event, and the music is always flowing throughout the room! I remember when I arrived, the staff was so helpful. I introduced myself to them and from there the day was on it's way. They allowed me to rearrange the room how I wanted it and were at my beckoning call if I needed assistance. The catering menu is big but full of variety. P.J.'s sure knows how to make a goooood chicken tender and french fries! Both the kids and adults went through them like crazy! The only thing better than the chicken tendies and fries are the cheesesteak egg rolls. Every time we get an order of them we say "wow, I forgot how good those are!" Additionally, we took advantage of the pasta bar option- which allows you to choose two types of pastas, which was nice for the variety factor, as our group had many dietary needs. Came here to meet for book club. The staff was very accommodating of our very indecisive group and was able to split the check for all of us which you don't see anymore. The food was good, nothing to write home about but I enjoyed my Fajita Bowl and Famous Fries. They have a very large patio and it was nice to be able to sit outside on a beautiful night. Came here today for lunch and had an OK experience with a few issues. First, when we arrived, there was no one at the front to seat us. We waited for maybe 5 minutes before someone arrived? It took so long that I would have considered leaving if I wasn't so hungry :) Anyway, eventually someone came, and we decided to sit outside since the weather was nice. Pretty cool little outdoor area! Our server was nice and did a good job throughout our meal. I decided to order the chicken panini while my wife got a burger. We were a little disappointed at how long it took to get our food, especially considering it wasn't super busy. I use to strongly dislike this location due to it always feeling dirty, service being poor, and food being subpar compared to the maple shade location but it has come a long way apparently. My brother and I for quite a few years use to go to the maple shade location generally every Tuesday for half priced wings when I was stationed in the area. We occasionally would try this location and I ventured here a fair share of times at night when the far bar turns into a club and this location never was very good. This holiday season we took my fiancé to the maple shade pjs to give her the experience so she could picture what we always talk about and the power went out due to a car crash taking out the block power. He recommended this location because it has come a long away and i reluctantly agreed. I was pleasantly surprised of the cleanliness and food. The wings were nearly as good as maple shade. The server however was not very attentive and not very cordial. If you've been putting off location due to past poor experience, i recommend giving it another shot. I had a speciality drink which was delicious. Cupid's kiss. I took a photo of it so I can continue to order it in the future. The wings were crispy last night with just the right amount of sauce. The food and service were both mediocre. The bartenders seemed to forget I was there until their break was about to start and then I was asked if I was ready to close my tab. I was actually ready for another beer but instead I did close my tab. This was well after an Eagles game ended and the bar had emptied out quite a bit so it wasn't that they were busy. I've been here more than once with a similar takeaway. On a separate occasion, we had called ahead to see what time the kitchen closed and we were happy that we still had 40 minutes from the time we arrived. We asked if we could order food right away because we wanted to be courteous to those working. We were told that they would have to ask. Parking can be hard during dinner time but once it is 9pm, you have to be over the age of 21 to stay, so parking should be better. Got a cheesesteak with the famous fries. Costed a total of $21. The cheesesteak was a 6inch sub lmfao absolutely insane. I'm 1,000 percent sure I was given a 10year old little girls hand size of fries. When they up charged me $4.50 for them lmfao a legit scam. Inflation is real but this restaurant is just robbing people in all seriousness hiding behind a good restaurant name and selling happy meal sized portions is diabolical in my opinion. My friends chose to go to PJ WHELIHANS PUB (1854 marlton pike east cherry hill nj 08034)  tonight for their engagement/birthday celebration. I can only hope that my friends had a better time than me. It started with us noticing a drunk older male in his 40's stumbing around the bar and harassing the women in our group by whistling at and standing directly behind and staring at their butts. Even the bartenders were openly talking about how creepy he was.  When addressed he claimed to be looking for his jacket, which he never found. I know because I watched this drunk pos drive away. After watching him conversate with the bouncers from BLACKSTONE SECURITY for 20 minutes he proceeded to exit the building. Knowing there's no way they just let this drunk dude leave i followed. He told security he was getting picked up by an uber, security told me thats what he said and they just let him go. They watched him walk out of sight and then it was like it wasn't their problem anymore. He got in to his car and sat here for a couple of minutes. I told one of the 7  bouncers, he called his superior and they did nothing. As the drunk started to reverse out I was able to flag him down and get him to repark,  watching him hit and go over the curb. I addressed security again, this time they gathered and had a meeting about not leaving their positions even if somethings going on. The drunk got out of his car and even talked to three of the older bouncers by the gate, then he walked back to his car VISIBLY DRUNK. The guards couldn't care less and even told me once he's off the property they can't do anything. Hardest part if the job is not doing anything about it. At this point I called police.  He then backed out, left and drove southbound on marlton pike. I asked for a manager on duty and out of the 5 that were there I spoke to MIKE RODGER. He had no clue what happened and when I asked if he knew about the drunk that left his bar he informed me that security and the business were separate so they don't communicate whatsoever. When I asked for a name, Mike seemed more worried about giving his name out then the fact that he and his staff let a patron leave intoxicated, possibly on his way to hurt or kill other people because of their negligence. This means that PJ whelihans cherry hill over serves, isn't following servesafe protocalls, can't recognize when someone has clearly 'had enough' and is allowing intoxicated people to get behind the wheel and put others at risk. By the way I ordered the hot and honey wings. I had 3 before this incident. When it came out the sauce ramekin was on top of the food and half spilled on the wings and fries already, sloppy.  I tried the blue moon Belgian white and that was good but not worth the experience that PJs had created. We went to PJ Wales today for lunch as we have went many times usually it is pretty good but we always get the same things as wings and loaded tots today. We went outside the comfort zone and we got a chicken wrap and we got. an upgrade from the chips to french fries very simple request. We asked it. There will be no old base seasoning and that we asked for ranch instead of blue cheese and of course the french fries came out full of all day and of course, without looking because the waitress said it was ranch I dumped it and it was blue cheese so they waited and waited. They said right away rushed. It was a long time and they made us another one. We ordered the. mango habanero for the sauce. There was hardly no sauce and the sauce had no flavor. This was a very disappointing day. I don't know quite if it was a servers fault or the kitchen, but the weight was unbelievable to have them redo it they were not that busy and we waited a long time and the wrap had no flavor for that sauce. It should've had more flavor than that. The waitress was nice enough, but she just really was not on the ball and the wait for the food to be redone was terrible. It was just a very disappointing time. I would suggest I will not be going back to PJ Wells in Cherry Hill. It is not worth the time and effort in the weight. There is no such thing as ambience. Yikes, this place is going downhill. We were there for lunch with very few other tables occupied. Somehow, the service was still incredibly slow and our waitress was incredibly unfriendly. The hostess and our waitress both acted like they were annoyed that we were there. As for the food, it was average for bar food. Certainly nothing to write home about but it wasn't bad.
