Take cover at PJ's lol (8/13/25)

Well, my faith in PJ Whelahan's has been restored! In addition to the food and the one dish, Southwest chicken salad with extra barbecue sauce, that I enjoy so much, our service was top notch. Our server, Brielle, really made our experience tonight an extra good one. She was so friendly, and what the epitome of a server should be. Brielle was bubbly, and you can tell that her vibe was genuine. We both even complemented her on that bubbly personality, which was appreciated. Tonight's visit was the first where I redeemed a birthday reward. I let my Sir enjoy it because I am still rebounding from the extra holiday indulgences. I'm not in the Cherry Hill area that often but if we are again, I hope that she is our server.

PJ Whelihan's Pub + Restaurant - A Sports Bar Staple Location: Cherry Hill, NJ (Inferred) Vibe: Lively Sports Pub Overall Rating: 4/5 Stars Atmosphere and Vibe PJ Whelihan's provides the quintessential sports bar experience: it's large, loud, and bustling, especially when a major game is on. With TVs covering every conceivable angle--from the main bar area to the high-top tables--it's an ideal environment for catching any sport. The decor is classic chain-pub, but the energy from the crowd and staff keeps the place feeling vibrant. The space is well laid out, often including a welcoming outdoor patio area which is a nice escape in good weather. Food Quality and Signature Dishes The strength of PJ Whelihan's undeniably lies in its bar food, which consistently rises above average. Wings (A Must-Try): They are famous for their jumbo wings. The Hot-n-Honey flavor is a local legend--a perfect balance of heat and sweet. For appetizers, the Loaded 'Tater Tots (topped with melted cheese sauce, bacon, and sour cream) and the Cheesesteak Egg Rolls are crowd-pleasing, shareable starters that you won't regret ordering. Mains: Beyond the pub fare, the menu is extensive, offering solid burgers, filling salads (like the Cobb), and hearty handhelds. It's reliable, satisfying comfort food built for watching a game. Service and Drinks The service here is generally friendly and attentive, though it can become a little overwhelmed and inconsistent during peak times (like playoff nights or happy hour). If you are visiting during a slow period, you can expect quick service, but be prepared for a potential wait when it's crowded. The drink menu offers a wide variety of domestic and imported beers on tap. While there is an extensive selection, the craft beer offerings are generally solid but not overly adventurous, with the emphasis often leaning toward popular macrobrews and their own exclusive P.J.W. Copper Lager. Value The pricing is reasonable and offers good value for the portions provided, especially during their weekday happy hour window (typically 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at most locations). It's an accessible place for a casual meal, a quick beer, or a celebratory group dinner.

I'm just done with this place. I've had more misses than hits here and I'm not going to keep paying the amount that I pay to get my sides thrown in a container in the bag they were heated up in. To add insult to injury, the whiskey sauce (which is supposed to be included with the salmon) is never in the to-go container. If I don't ask for it at pick up, I won't get it. This is not the first time I've had a meal like this from this PJ's, as I do order from here often on my lunch break. It will be my last though

Came here to meet for book club. The staff was very accommodating of our very indecisive group and was able to split the check for all of us which you don't see anymore. The food was good, nothing to write home about but I enjoyed my Fajita Bowl and Famous Fries. They have a very large patio and it was nice to be able to sit outside on a beautiful night. With being so close to RT 70, you don't hear a lot of traffic which is nice! Not rushing to go back but if someone suggested it, i'd be down.

It's always nice to come here after bar hopping because you know what you're getting. Fun people at the bar, good drinks, tv for sports watching & sweet chili wings. I will fight anyone that says they're not the best... seriously

Came here for half off wing nights! We got tater tots, mild wings, and and hot & honey wings. The tater tots were okay, would probably skip next time. Both wings flavors were good. It was spacious with TVs all around the walls so there was always something to look at. Would probably be really fun to come and watch a game :) Our server was nice and checked on us a few times. Overall a good experience Bathrooms 8/10

I've been a customers of P. J. Whelihan's for many years. There have been good experiences and not so good ones. Last night was a good one. Our server was quick and efficient. I had a speciality drink which was delicious. Cupid's kiss. I took a photo of it so I can continue to order it in the future. The wings were crispy last night with just the right amount of sauce. I love the Buffalo chicken salad with hot wing nuggets. It's one of the better Buffalo salads in the area. The pj fries are always a hit with the warm cheese sauce.

First time ordering at PJ Whelihan and I was super disappointed and displeased with their food. The crab cakes were basic and expensive for the amount of food it came with. The burger was lacking meat and it was not a cheap burger. The only thing good was the amount of wings.

    Soiled Burger

They gave my boy a soiled burger. Slopped up in grease covered in mystery fluid and topped with thick load sauce. The thick load sauce wasn't the problem he actually asked for that. The only problem with the burger was the onions, he hates onions. P.S pic is real

We sat at the bar, and the super friendly staff made us feel right at home, which made the whole experience even better. We started with the buffalo chicken flatbread, which had a nice crispy bottom and just enough celery for a satisfying crunch. They also had a special burger on the menu with a salty pretzel bun that was really good and definitely a mouthful. The chicken sandwich was big too, and they didn't skimp on the fries or crispy chips. The drinks were great, and with the happy hour deal, the bill felt very reasonable. We're so glad this spot is near home, and we're already looking forward to the next visit.

I ordered the Reuben for my entree and upgraded from chips to potato salad. This was an amazing choice. One of the best Reubens I've had in awhile. I was nervous at first seeing the thick bread but it all came together. It wasn't greasy at all. The corned beef was crispy which made it easier to bite. Who hates trying to bite through tough corned beef???? The amount of sauerkraut was perfect. One half of my sandwich had the perfect amount of dressing. The other half was dry. I usually ask for a side of dressing but didn't this time. I am so glad I upgraded to potato salad. It's only $1 extra and I highly recommend. This reminded me of my family recipe. This sandwich comes with chips and I'm not sure what that means. I'm not a huge potato chip person.

And as The Misses stated as we pulled away, "I never knew this place existed, and I'm happy to go back to that." Ouch. First, the good: - The building is spacious, and looked clean. There is plenty of room, and table and bar seating. - The menu is vast, with a lot of options - Service was fine. The bad: - Mulligans is wildly expensive. I think the cheapest thing to eat was a small bowl of fries, which was $7.95 (more on this in The Ugly.) An APPETIZER of chicken fingers was over $13 dollars, and that didn't include fries. I was shocked at some of the prices.... - speaking of those prices, they had Happy Hour AND Lunch specials.....that were almost the exact same price as the regular menu prices. So, a flatbread from the menu was like $12, but the Happy Hour "deal" was a flatbread for $10*....(again, more on this in a second....) How is that a deal? Yardhouse, for example, does HALF PRICE flatbreads during happy hour. - That barely discounted flatbread was also underseasoned, by the way. It looked ok, and had nice sized chicken chunks on it, but The Misses said that everything was underseasoned. (She did give them kudos for fresh fries though...) - There is no kids menu, even though there was a shocking amount of children here. We brought our 7y/o, the table next to us had 2 boys between 5-9, and at least 2 to 3 other groups came in with children just while we were sitting there. But, nothing on the menu for kids. I guess you need to just pony up the $13+ for an appetizer chicken tenders meal. The UGLY: - About those prices....they don't match the menu. I can't stand the price bait and switch, yet Mulligans hit us with it for every item. That bullshit $10 happy hour "deal" is actually $10.40 on the receipt. (BEFORE tax, before one of you wise ass economists chimes in....) My "$11.95 lunch special" was actually $12.43, and the Little Ones small side of fries came in at $8.06. Now, these are just slight little increases, but it's the point that the actual prices arenn't the same as the menu price. All of this is made even worse by the fact that.... - ...anything other than cash incurs a FOUR percent surcharge! So, our meal had an ADDITIONAL $3 tacked on because we paid with a card, like normal people. Who's walking around with cash in 2026? Drug dealers? There is just no reason to travel here to overpay for incorrectly price labeled food that you will then have to pay ANOTHER premium on at the end. The food was FINE, but fine isn't worth the upcharge.
