She helped me with selections from her own delicious creations and advising what items would ship the best. It was a bit complicated to compute the Canada mail fees and then add the US mail fees and the customs costs, but she stuck with it until completion. And my daughter really enjoyed the treats when they arrived. Beautiful little local shop, where the owner was the efficient as the chocolatier, as well as being the m m to her two very young children who were there in the shop with her. If you are touring around rural Quebec Province and are in Compton, please stop to enjoy a really lovely shop.

They also have a bakery. There is a sample tray that lets you try their milk chocolate, 50% dark chocolate, and 70% dark chocolate. We liked the taste of their chocolate and ended up buying a bag full. I bought a 70% dark chocolate bar and a milk chocolate bar. The dark chocolate and lavender caramel bar my wife bought was especially delicious. The lavender came from the Blue Lavande lavender farm in Stanstead. This is a great place to stop and buy chocolate before you head to Mt Orford for outdoor activities. We will definitely be back.

My mom ordered the sane whereas my dad got the pepper and eggs Panini with chèvre and the soup. We each ordered the thé froid, iced tea, a slightly sweetened iced herbal tea. The Panini was delicious. It was a perfect combination of sweet and savory. The soup was creamy, properly seasoned and piping hot. As there was a chill in the air, it hit the spot. The service was excellent. We opted to forgo dessert, but we did get an array of 12 artisanal chocolates to go. We had mom choose the flavors from over almost 40 offerings in dark, milk and white chocolate. Each chocolate has a fine-thick sliver of topping or sprinkling of herbs or spices, such as dried cranberries, apricot, elderflower, cassis, cayenne pepper, sea salt, lavender, coconut, cardamom. In essence, a chocolate lovers paradise. In the car, we sampled the pralined and the apricot. The chocolate is extremely high quality and not too sweet. The waitstaff was charming and perfectly fluent in English and French. Our friendly server was excellent and made us feel so welcome not just to the restaurant, but to the town of Sherbrooke. The inside is classy and elegant without being overly formal. Every dish was plated beautifully and I took lots of photos. I had the vegetarian option of pasta and vegetables, and it was beyond any pasta and vegetables I have eaten before! The flavors were perfectly balanced with garlic and lemon and very light cream, and the pasta was fresh and had a pleasantly firm texture. There was a good ratio of vegetables to pasta. Everyone in our group completely loved their meals. The person who ordered the moules-frites said they were spot-on and excellent. We saw some great reviews for Le Cinquième Élément and loved their motto "creative and lively cuisine." We also wanted to try two of their Table d'hôte, prix fixe menu offerings, so we could try as much as possible. The restaurant itself is quite cosy and we opted to sit outside on the terrace. It was a little noisy from the neighbors. but otherwise, quite lovely. Our server was wonderful. He had a great sense of humor and was quite charming. We decided to order two Table d'hôte menus, "The Great Day" (we'd had a great day, so that was fitting; although I like the name they chose for it in French, "la Gourmandise" because I'm a foodie, but I digress). It consisted of an entrée + main dish + dessert for the exceptional value of $50pp. The offerings were too good to choose from. Here's what we decided on: entrées: Deer terrine with berries, candied onions and homemade croutons Thinly-sliced smoked duck breast, pear and balsamic glaze main dishes: The Shipwreck-grilled scallops and shrimp on creamy risotto with Hatley cheese & a tropical salad. The Haunch: Lamb shank with provençal sauce, old cheddar based mashed potatoes and and vegetable bouquet Desserts: orange infused crème brûlée Soft chocolate cake with a heart of caramel Verdict: Everything was so beautifully plated and delicious, in copious amounts. Truly generous-sized portions. I had no room for dessert (the server gave us a nice pause in between, which helped!) The terrine was well prepared and the onion confit, sauces and berries that accompanied it were bursting with flavor. It was fantastic. The thinly sliced smoked duck breast with pear was equally amazing. The scallops were perfectly pan seared and the shrimp were perfectly grilled. The cheese risotto was creamy, perfectly seasoned and slightly al dente. The dish included lemon and lime wedges, which added a lively citrus boost to the already amazing flavor. The large lamb shank was fork tender and again perfectly seasoned, falling off the bone. My only slight critique is that the potatoes and the beets that came with it needed a little more seasoning-but otherwise, the dish overall was excellent. The desserts were to die for. I've never considered adding Grand Marnier or other orange liqueur to crème brûlée, but it was a great idea. The chocolate cake was moist and the marriage of flavors with the chocolate and candied berry topping was perfect. A truly exceptional meal. I will definitely come back here.

We toured this location, but chose not to eat there for lunch. However, we will be back to try it another day. The inside is small with some seating. The pastries, sandwiches and bakery items were similar to those in the Baie-Saint-Paul location. There were quite a few people in the store who had discovered this place and were ordering lunch. It was actually quite crowded. We will return to eat here.
