Second time at this location and I must say I'm very disappointed... In the first place she shouldn't talk politics or her opinion of vaccines. She has a tendency of asking about your personal life and then in return Judge you with a negative response. I ask for a rollers.. she said it was a waste of time instead Parted my hair and put it up in clips and put me under the blow dryer for an hour. For a wash blow dry and trim she charged $80 which is extremely overpriced. read more

Thankfully I ignored the other reviews and tried for myself. From start to finish my child and I were treated well. My child wanted some guidance on her haircut and I needed an education on Keratin treatments. The owner was a good source of information and didn't try to upsell or push extra services. The salon was clean and had sanitizer and wipes all over the place for the customer. At the end, my baby's hair was just as straight and shiny with a simple hair blower as if she had rollers and then the blow dryer. If my child gets treated well..I am a HAPPY money- spending mama. Worse experience I have ever had in a salon thanks to Maira. I spend 5 years having my hair natural and trust her to make my hair look beautiful. From yanking of the hair to the worst highlights of my life, highlights turned out yellow almost orange some parts weren't even colored. Spend 5 hours in a chair to only have highlights and a wash done. Did not include blow dry and also lied to me about using certain products. I spend $330 to get my hair damage by someone that said she was a professional. Maira please do not say your a professional when your not. Would not recommend this place, unless you want highlights done by an immature. read more

I went on a Monday and was the only person there the entire time. Both ladies, Jocelyn and Mayra, were so friendly and listened to all my many requests (extra rinse, smaller rollers and no oil). This was my first salon experience since moving from NJ and it was great. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because I felt the prices were a bit expensive but that could just be a Georgia thing. I would highly recommend this salon. read more

Even though I have witnessed crazy reviews I still decided to come to this place today. I have been here before and I found the older woman to be quite nice she has a special that's running Monday and Wednesday for $50 for a blowout and straightening and I've been here three or four times in the past to use that special. Well today I come in specifically on a Wednesday to utilize that $50 special that's large on her front part of her building. I made my appointment on Monday and verified with her over the phone that Wednesday was the best day due to her special she agreed and set my appointment for 10:30 AM 1030 comes around and she was not at the salon I called several times back to back until I finally reached her about 1130 at 11:30 she had taken in another client and started to color their hair so when I sat down she asked me to wait 30 minutes well that 30 minutes turned into an hour and she asked me if I would come back at 1:30 I agreed left went to Walmart did some shopping came back at 1:30 only for that same client to still be in her chair until 2:30 PM she started on my hair at 2:30 and finished at 5:45 PM I asked her to wrap my hair which she said it was $10 additional for the net I said great ask her for the total thinking it would be no more than $60 she charged me $125. When I asked about the $50 special she specifically told me that it's not from my kind of hair I've been responded that she's done my hair before and it was $50 and she said that your hair grew longer and it's not for your kind of hair because I hurt her wrist while trying to comb it so I've been asked is it just not for African-American hair and she said no she then said never mind you pay me $50 and God got me I will never return to that place and I caution you African-American people that the specials that are listed are not for us. Lastly she then told me that she doesn't no longer have that special but it just cost her $300 to take the sign down and she refuses to pay for it. I questioned her and said if you don't want to remove that sign why wouldn't you put up an additional sign saying $50 is no longer valid she said because it is for some people. If I can give her zero stars I would she's never there on time her shop is closed 99% of the time and she overcharges based on what she feels like charging for the day read more

Everything went pretty okay until the very end. I was not expecting to pay more than $100 dollars for a blowout certainly when considering their Monday special is $53 (which comes with a deep conditioning). I was charged $160 for just a blow out. I was told all blow outs were $160... I have never been to a Dominican salon nor any salon that charges more than $70 for a blowout. I won't be coming back. read more

I told her to trim my hair just a little bit and she chopped off the front and left the back of my hair long like layers ... did not ask for that. And her blowout is ok. I recommend not getting your hair cut from this place. Just wash and style. read more

Update on this review: a few days later my hair was still straight as a pin. Thought it was because the stylist used a lot of heat, but when I went to wash it, I could smell the strong chemical smell of relaxer.... which is lye!!! I haven't relaxed my hair in 10 years but will never forget that smell. After the wash my hair started coming out in clumps and the smell won't go away. The stylist relaxed my hair without telling me!!! I told her before I sat down that I was 10 years natural and proud of it and that I didn't want a relaxer or any type of keratin treatment, but she did it anyway. She didn't know this, but I colored my hair a few weeks ago, so the color and the relaxer together have fried my hair. So pissed!! The manager wouldn't call me back and I just waited for her at the shop for 15 minutes--- she didn't show up. NEVER GO HERE!!! read more

I went in to get a simple blow out. After being there for about 2.5hrs. 1.5hrs in, I told her that I couldn't wait that long and that my husband was waiting in the car and she said she didn't care. She kept me there for so long and once I was done she said it was going to be $75. I asked what she did to my hair and couldn't tell me what. She said she did some treatment I didn't ask for and said that I was on her chair did 2.5 hours and that is why she would charge me that much. I went here on a Saturday morning at 8:40 am and the salon doors was locked and closed. However, the Salon door and website says it opens at 8:00am on Saturdays. I waited till 9:00am and no one showed up to open their business. Very very unprofessional and inconvenient. read more

I called to see if there were any openings and the lady was very nice and welcomed me to come. My appt was at 3 and washed me around 3:05 so the timing was good. I asked for a blowout and she looked at my hair and said I needed it clipped as well which I agreed. She was a heavier set lady (giving descriptions for a reason) and she thoroughly washed and conditioned my hair. That was great. She politely put me under the dryer as I sat for the deep conditioner to process. Another lady walks in (skinny lady with light brown hair) and moments later she tells me to go to the bowl. She was much more aggressive than the first lady, jerking me back into the bowl and rinsing me. When she was finished she put me on the chair and did a rollerset. She did a very good job and took her time combing my hair. She did not offer any conversation whatsoever so it was silence among us. It was like going to the nail shop where everyone is speaking Korean except for the nail tech usually tries to have some convo with the customer. Anywho, she finishes the rollerset and sits me under this hellacious dryer. If you survive the tall black dryer you can survive anything. It was sooo hot and they put towels and black pad around your head. I felt trapped but hey...pretty hurts lol. After 50 minutes of that she took me back to the chair, clipped my hair, blew it and straightened it. She did a good job. She did not offer any recommendations on how to care for my hair and the only convo she gave was the question, "Straight or curly?" There were two other clients in there and they all just talked amongst themselves. It felt awkward. At the end of service the lady who started me said it would be $50 which is far higher than the $30 I'm use to paying elsewhere. Anywho, I paid, said thank you and left. I would encourage anyone to come here but if you're looking for stylist who is personal and at least attempts to know you then you'd probably wanna go elsewhere.
