    Gross deli..
    Seth G.

I came in here after looking for a deli nearby with some fairly good reviews. After leaving I am incredibly disappointed and here's why: 1. Staff- there was no one else in the place and the worker behind the counter made it seem like my girlfriend and I were inconveniencing him by ordering two sandwiches 2. Food- we ordered an Italian combo and eggplant sub. Both were AWFUL. The meat on the sandwich seemed to be sitting out in the open for weeks. 3. Atmosphere- the whole place STUNK of old mothballs and budget pine sol and the floors were filthy. GROSS 4. They do not accept credit cards and have an ATM machine on site that charges an exorbitant amount to get cash out of. Avoid this place...

The Bacon egg and cheese from this place is amazing. HOWEVER what's not okay is that every time I go they charge for it differently.

We were there a little before opening and a small line had already formed. Once they opened, we took our time to figure out what to order. Most of the staff were really friendly. One of the guys was not pleasant. He seemed super annoyed with every customer and then we had to hear him complain to all of his coworkers about how he wasn't supposed to open that morning. I get it; no one wants to be in that position. However, all of the customers don't have to be subjected to the poor attitude, especially since this place is obviously popular due their social media presence. Other than this one sour apple, the rest of our experience was great! Giovanni's Italian Deli is an intimately sized sandwich shop in White Plains, New York. They are located in an area with other businesses and there is free parking shared among the nearby shops. The establishment doesn't have any indoor seating, although they do have a few chairs and table outside if you want to eat on site. We ordered a total of three sandwiches: - Joe Rogan - The Famous Bronx Godfather - The Summer Bruschetta All of the sandwiches were great. Definitely crafted well with generous portions on the inside of all of the sandwiches. We watched them make the mozzarella fresh while waiting to order and for our sandwiches to be made. The guy making the mozzarella, Johnny, even gave my family samples. He made a little small portion for our toddler. Truly an awesome experience with quality sandwiches. The Summer Bruschetta was my sandwich and I can only hope it becomes something permanent on their menu! It goes without saying that, aside from the one rude staff member, our first trip to Giovanni's Italian Deli was memorable. My husband was so happy about the "sangwheeches" and is already talking about how we'll have to fit another trip to White Plains during our next visit New York. Our only hope is that Giovanni is there the next we stop by!

Our family ordered a #13,#17, #5 and a . The sandwiches were good. We should have ordered the rolls that weren't seeded but it was still good. We tried other sandwiches in the group as well. I really enjoyed the roast beef but went back in to ask for mustard which I always enjoy with my roast beef(Again I should have asked for more pickles, banana peppers and mustard) . I like my sandwiches with a punch of dilly and vinegar mix. The other thing is we should have ordered the meatball as a hot hero. Like I said it was a great stop and definitely worth the money. Service was as expected since it was all hangout and wrapped. Sodas are in a cooler which is self serve. We ended up eating our sandwiches on the outside tables and enjoyed conversing with our family. This is a family trip to a graduation. Overall great place to grab a

Kind of unexpected, and not complex flavor at all. The soup didn't have any discernible flavor. Not bad, but certainly not great. Half sour pickles: again, kinda underflavored. Cut in slices rather than served whole (i think i got one whole pickle--pretty stingy). Cole slaw: this was actually quite good and the highlight of the meal. Egg cream: not enough seltzer while still being kinda meh flavorwise. Pastrami sandwich: the meat was somewhat dry and lacked that peppery pastrami flavor you expect from, what?, pastrami. The bread wasn't very fresh so I ended up not eating much of the bread. Small sandwich for $28 or $29. Potato knish: perfectly cooked and crispy on the outside. Again, though, not much flavor or seasoning. Overall, my meal cost $55 before tip and I'd get a better meal of all the same at any diner in New Jersey. Decent, but not worth coming back with so many better options out there.

Although both sandwiches were barely warm -- almost to the point where my husband was considering sending it back to the kitchen. He did not as he didn't want to wait for another sandwich to be brought out. The hand-cut French fries were very good. The coleslaw was okay -- certainly not the best I've had, but far from the worst. They also brought out two types of classic complimentary pickles for the table. Again, they were just okay -- I've definitely had better. One thing to note: the classic half sandwich & cup of soup combo comes with fries, but if you order just a classic sandwich, it does not come with fries, both priced at $17.99. My husband got the cup of lentil soup, which he enjoyed. I ordered the potato salad as a side dish, it was very vinegar-heavy and not really to my taste. I ended up bringing it home and doctoring it up, which made it much better. They had good deli mustard on the table, I asked for Russian dressing since I like that on my pastrami sandwich -- that was good. And of course, you've for to have a Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray or any one of the other Dr Brown flavors. All in all, we enjoyed our lunch. Between the food, the service, and the fact that the place is dated, I'd give it a 3 1/2 stars overall. Free on-site parking is a big parking lot as there are several other stores right in the plaza. I wanted to note that this Deli is dairy free. So no chocolate milk, but you can get a classic egg cream.

This isn't a fancy place--they close early, there are no white tablecloths, no wine list, and the décor leans toward gray veneer booths with red seats. But that's exactly the point. You come here for the food, not the frills. The pickles were outstanding--crisp, flavorful, and the kind you keep reaching for between bites. We both had pastrami on fresh, soft rye with great mustard, and it hit the spot completely. The fries were just right too--crispy overall with those smaller, extra-crunchy pieces mixed in. There's something really satisfying about a place like this. Simple, honest food done well. After a full day of work, it made for a relaxed and genuinely enjoyable date night. We'll definitely be back.
