WOW - what a difference - the job he did turned my dreary kitchen into a bright, pleasant space! Not only did he paint the cabinets, he numbered each door to the corresponding cabinet and drawer so the after-paint install would be correct. Further, John saved the day again just yesterday. With a time-sensitive painting and small wood repair job needed, John rearranged his schedule and was able to get everything I needed done. Horrible…read moreservice, horrible disconnect between the national installation center, no accountability, no way to escalate anything, no communication. The worst. Avoid them like the plague. It has nothing to do with this particular store, it is the process that they developed since a pandemic. It sucks for the sales people, and it sucks for you the client. Also previously had very expensive kitchen cabinet installation project done through Lowe's countryside and I had some problems with the vendor and I had terrible support. They did not support me well against the vendor. It took me over a year to get all the replacement parts.

I am a local Decorator, Organizer, Cleaner, etc...I brought Grand onto one of my client projects…read more I was ready after 16 years to start working with a local company. Was trying to simply save on travel time with companies I had been working with, etc.. the company I mainly worked with was in North Cleawater. I should had stuck with them. The drive would had been better then what I dealt with with this company. Let me start with the positive. The outside workers doing tile and cabinetry are wonderful. They would even be better if they had no connection Subcontracting for this business. The negativity of the Business stems from the Owner Richard. I walked into this project with a sweet yet difficult client. I came into Grands showroom to see what they had to offer. The showroom is very lovely and lots of choices. Nothing you couldn't find elsewhere. The staff comes off as being very nice. That is until your contract is signed. 2 contracts here: Contract 1 for $80,000+ for kitchen and 1 bath 2nd contract was for $15k for the shower in the bath they were already doing. None if this included flooring nor paint. As soon as contract was signed. The Owner Richard told my client referring to me. "I don't need her around to babysit me nor my workers. I need a fob and key to your condo". My client easily feeling intimidated my this man. Pushed me aside. By doing so took my project right out from under me. There is an oath against this. I was disgusted. However, it was a must I be there to help create the project before it could begin. Throughout beginning meetings I kept saying. "Don't you want to write this down don't you want to write that down"? I am unsure what ever happened to all my specific requests and details on project. However, they were tossed away somewhere. Also, they took it upon themselves to make changes to specifics like mirror sizes, height of back splashes, etc.. Whatever made it cheaper and simpler for them. So many little mistakes were made. There was constant communication with the office with me literally going in circles about the same darn specifics. So all and all Richard was wrong. They did need to be babysat. A major one. Money money money was constantly requested. Even before it should actually be do. Final 2 payment we're requested when Materbath and kitchen we're still in shambles. But through it all the worst of this project was how Richard likes to intimidate woman. I have had my business 16 years. Yet this man (the Owner) enjoyed degrading me and my intelligents. The final project looked great thanks to the subcontractors working for Grand. Again they would be better off without this negative connection. The project took months on in even though he was trying to rush the other aspects of MY project. Such as flooring, painting, baseboard, window covering, new furniture and appliances, etc.. Everything was held up because of his argumentative child throwing fit ways. I am just writing this review now. Because it has taken me months to get over the verbal and mental abuse I put up with on this project. To much anguish. More then what I ever had on any project in 16 years. My client will not be writing a negative review because she told me she was told by Richard (Owner) that the last woman that did do a bad review was threatened that she would be sewed if not taken down. These review pages are here for a reason. I would NOT ever recommend dealing with Richard, Julie (Owners girlfriend) or Amy. Amy is certainly the best out of the 3. However, it came ahead when my client came to me saying Amy was also bad talking me to her. I was degraded by this company throughout the project to my client. A client I had been working with on several different items for 14+ years. I had written a number of emails to inform Amy about lack of detail on their part. And the disrespect the Owner Richard was showing me as the Decorator on the project. My client not me was informed that Richard was going to come after me for saying anything negative about him. My communication about this man and his organization was specific to his office. I had not said anything to outsiders until write now. I feel as a consumer that I had all rights to address these major issues with his office.

We have a 70 year old home in St. Petersburg and ran into some issues that could have been anxiety producing, yet we never worried. Richard's calm assurance and the engineers, architects, electricians and HVAC professionals all worked together to ensure our home would be safe and beautiful. The transformation in our home is truly amazing. Thank you, Richard and Julie. I can't understand some of the other reviews because they simply do NOT resemble anything we encountered at Grand Kitchen and Bath.
