WOW - what a difference - the job he did turned my dreary kitchen into a bright, pleasant space! Not only did he paint the cabinets, he numbered each door to the corresponding cabinet and drawer so the after-paint install would be correct. Further, John saved the day again just yesterday. With a time-sensitive painting and small wood repair job needed, John rearranged his schedule and was able to get everything I needed done. Was trying to simply save on travel time with companies I had been working with, etc.. the company I mainly worked with was in North Cleawater. I should had stuck with them. The drive would had been better then what I dealt with with this company. Let me start with the positive. The outside workers doing tile and cabinetry are wonderful. They would even be better if they had no connection Subcontracting for this business. The negativity of the Business stems from the Owner Richard. I walked into this project with a sweet yet difficult client. I came into Grands showroom to see what they had to offer. The showroom is very lovely and lots of choices. Nothing you couldn't find elsewhere. The staff comes off as being very nice. That is until your contract is signed. 2 contracts here: Contract 1 for $80,000+ for kitchen and 1 bath 2nd contract was for $15k for the shower in the bath they were already doing. None if this included flooring nor paint. As soon as contract was signed. The Owner Richard told my client referring to me. "I don't need her around to babysit me nor my workers. I need a fob and key to your condo". My client easily feeling intimidated my this man. Pushed me aside. By doing so took my project right out from under me. There is an oath against this. I was disgusted. However, it was a must I be there to help create the project before it could begin. Throughout beginning meetings I kept saying. "Don't you want to write this down don't you want to write that down"? I am unsure what ever happened to all my specific requests and details on project. However, they were tossed away somewhere. Also, they took it upon themselves to make changes to specifics like mirror sizes, height of back splashes, etc.. Whatever made it cheaper and simpler for them. So many little mistakes were made. There was constant communication with the office with me literally going in circles about the same darn specifics. So all and all Richard was wrong. They did need to be babysat. A major one. Money money money was constantly requested. Even before it should actually be do. Final 2 payment we're requested when Materbath and kitchen we're still in shambles. But through it all the worst of this project was how Richard likes to intimidate woman. I have had my business 16 years. Yet this man (the Owner) enjoyed degrading me and my intelligents. The final project looked great thanks to the subcontractors working for Grand. Again they would be better off without this negative connection. The project took months on in even though he was trying to rush the other aspects of MY project. Such as flooring, painting, baseboard, window covering, new furniture and appliances, etc.. Everything was held up because of his argumentative child throwing fit ways. I am just writing this review now. Because it has taken me months to get over the verbal and mental abuse I put up with on this project. To much anguish. More then what I ever had on any project in 16 years. My client will not be writing a negative review because she told me she was told by Richard (Owner) that the last woman that did do a bad review was threatened that she would be sewed if not taken down. These review pages are here for a reason. I would NOT ever recommend dealing with Richard, Julie (Owners girlfriend) or Amy. Amy is certainly the best out of the 3. However, it came ahead when my client came to me saying Amy was also bad talking me to her. I was degraded by this company throughout the project to my client. A client I had been working with on several different items for 14+ years. I had written a number of emails to inform Amy about lack of detail on their part. And the disrespect the Owner Richard was showing me as the Decorator on the project. My client not me was informed that Richard was going to come after me for saying anything negative about him. My communication about this man and his organization was specific to his office. I had not said anything to outsiders until write now. I feel as a consumer that I had all rights to address these major issues with his office.

We have a 70 year old home in St. Petersburg and ran into some issues that could have been anxiety producing, yet we never worried. Richard's calm assurance and the engineers, architects, electricians and HVAC professionals all worked together to ensure our home would be safe and beautiful. The transformation in our home is truly amazing. Thank you, Richard and Julie. I can't understand some of the other reviews because they simply do NOT resemble anything we encountered at Grand Kitchen and Bath. he only installed 700 ft.² and charged $2100. The floor was bare concrete, no baseboards no furniture low spots weren't leveled vapor barrier wasn't used. Scott installed the floor in one day. The room that I installed the same flooring, I have no issues. so just be aware that if you decide to purchase the floors from Mark that he does not recommend mopping them. now I have to find the time to empty my house out. Pull this floor up and replace it with flooring that can actually be mopped. Mark and the crew are very friendly. I got to know the crew very well as I was here most of the time which fortunately for me I was able to catch a lot of the issues firsthand in order to correct them. I know stuff happens and it's not a perfect world that's why I let many things slide. Mark is very difficult to deal with when there's a problem . I knew before the job was finished that I would not use Mark again. That's why I hired somebody else at the same time to continue with another project that I had on the house. His subcontractors for Drywall and electrical were excellent. I actually used them later directly myself. If you decide to use their services get Mark's number right from the beginning and deal with him directly on any issues that you have. Don't call the office or tell anyone on the job site. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions on my experience with Mark or if you would like to see any videos or photos of the work both good and bad because it wasn't all bad. Mark told me several times that he would rather buy my house then have me be unhappy. He said tell me what you want. I'll write you a check or I'll go in my safe and give you cash ...But yet he won't even refund me my $500. All I want is the monetary compensation to purchase a new floor that can be mopped and have it installed properly. read more

I spent 63k with Mark Aleksin owner of Custom Kitchen Baths and beyond, it was filled with many mistakes, lies, deception and harassment. at this point the floors started curling, cupping and separating. Mark sells the floor from his cousin that works for International Wholesale Tile . They convinced me to pay them $500 up front for a professional floor inspection. Per the contract I would be reimbursed If I was found to not be a fault for the bad floor. the conclusion was bad installation on 3 counts. Gary Clark Review Renovations Home Center Review…read moreKAS Construction Review In June 2023, my wife and I hired Gary Clark, owner of Renovations Home Center and KAS Construction in Palm Harbor, for a renovation of our home. Unfortunately, the experience was overwhelmingly negative, and I feel compelled to share it to help others make informed decisions. (Yes, I did online research before commencing this project with Mr. Clark but there were no warning signs of what the future would entail.) Key Issues: High-Pressure Sales Tactics: Gary Clark pressured us into making a $28,208 commitment payment for kitchen cabinets, claiming we had to act immediately to secure a distant construction start date. He hinted at a possible earlier timeline, which later proved to be false. Design and Communication Problems: Gary Clark delegated much of the design work and communications to his young daughter, which led to repeated revisions and delays. The designs often didn't align with what we requested, and I had to repeatedly remind him that this was my house. Adding to the delays, Gary Clark frequently left town for his new business in North Carolina. No Progress Made: By the time Gary Clark terminated the KAS Construction / Renovations Home Center contract via email after I expressed my frustration at the never-ending escalating costs, no tangible progress had been made. There were no permits, no architectural plans, no materials had been ordered, not even his "specialty" of cabinets had been ordered - nothing to show for the months we spent working with him. Broken Refund Promises: When Gary Clark sent a termination of services email stating "at this time I feel we should tear up your contract and I'll refund your deposit." Later he insisted on keeping "some" money for his "time," which ultimately turned out that he wanted to keep nearly all the money. After weeks of negotiation, he agreed to a more reasonable settlement, but I paid to have a formal settlement letter drafted, he refused to sign and reneged once again. Unfulfilled Refund: As of January 2025, we have not received any portion of our $28,208, nor have we received any cabinets or work from Gary Clark, Renovations Home Center, or KAS Construction. Legal and Regulatory Actions: We reported the issue to various regulatory agencies in Pinellas County and the State of Florida. Gary Clark was subsequently investigated for fraud and other potential violations. The Florida State Attorney recently "determined that the facts and circumstances as presented do not warrant prosecution at this time." Advice for Potential Customers: If you are considering hiring Gary Clark, Renovations Home Center, or KAS Construction, I strongly recommend submitting public records requests to relevant agencies. This will provide valuable insights into his track record and help you make an informed decision. Final Thoughts: This experience has been incredibly disappointing. We lost months of time, trust, and $28,208 without seeing any progress. Fortunately the statute of limitations is five years, so we have time to file a civil lawsuit, but that won't erase the horrible experience we had with the construction industry.
