That being said, when our next generation visited to explore continuing education, the large pie and Sicilian bread we consumed on the way out of town was celebrated by our teens. There's just something about Alfano's ingredients, sauce, and pizza that resonates with your palate. If you're new to the 'burg, the rundown, piecemeal venue Alfano's currently resides will come as a bit of a shock. The pictures inside and out may not do justice to the discerning first time visitor. Every time we have gone to Budde's Pizza, we have had extremely slow service. There have been many times that we have gone in, and it would take 10 to 15 minutes to be acknowledged because the servers are too "busy" on their cell phone or talking and hugging other customers. We've overlooked that because we loved their pizza. However, today I have had enough because not only was the order slow, the pizza didn't even taste good because the order was screwed up. Instead of even making it right, the owner Diane was beyond rude. When Heather ordered the taco pizza and said we wanted pizza sauce because we didn't want beans, she told her that the taco pizza doesn't have beans so she ordered it normal. We get home after waiting 10 minutes in line to even be acknowledged because she was too busy just hanging out and leaning on the bar and hugging another customer, we find beans on the pizza nor did I get the hot honey sauce that we ordered. When we called her, she started yelling and being rude. Never again. I usually give second chances, but if you want to be rude (putting that mildly) and curse at me, I will support other small businesses.

They definitely keep up on the cleaning, and are able to create a friendly atmosphere. Overall-5 Would I go back to this pizza place? 100% yes! Nothing in Central Illinois compares to Chicago pizza........we've accepted that. Alfano's other pizzas, crusts, are just mediocre. We've also started to order the breadsticks, tho they could use more flavor like an "Aurelio's Pizza" breadsticks. I prefer a creamy garlic salad dressing for dipping the breadsticks. Alfano's does not serve one and all I could find in Central Illinois grocery stores that came close was a Wishbone creamy Italian. We've given up on the garlic bread, just too dried out, brittle and they won't add extra butter or garlic. Found out that their garlic bread is pre-made, then frozen, then thawed.........which explains the dissatisfaction. Yet, most of their other ingredients on their other food/pizzas, seem very fresh. All that said, it's nice that they deliver to the lake at Oak Run, $8 delivery charge and then we tip $5 on top of that. They've delivered in all weather, very much appreciated. And finally, everyone working there has always been very kind and efficient. We've never eaten at the restaurant itself. They've never messed up our credit card bill or gotten our order wrong.
