Just wanted to give another shout out to The Pizza House! This was my 3rd visit here, being from the about an hr away makes it more difficult to get here than I would like. This pizza is phenomenal. Maybe the thinnest and great tasting crust you can find. So so good. Great sauce, and cheese. They don't skimp on the toppings like a lot of other places! Service was great, and food came fast even for a very busy time that we were there. Cool building with an open kitchen where you can see them slinging the pizzas! Food-5 Me and my friend asked our hotel receptionist what her favorite pizza place is in Galesburg. She said it's hands down The Pizza House. After she said that a hotel guest in the lobby also chimed in and said the same thing. I love a good thin crust pizza with some crispiness on the crust, but not burnt. This was definitely one of the best pizzas that I've had in years. The sauce was good, there was a good proportionate amount of cheese, and that crust was perfect. We also got the house sampler and there was not one appetizer included in that sampler that I didn't like. Everything was made fresh and came out hot. Service-5 The service here was exceptional. Our server was very attentive and always came back at the right time to refill my drink. The kitchen staff was on point, and the owner was very welcoming and polite. You could tell that they actually care about their place of business. Ambiance-5 I loved the feel of this restaurant. It felt very old school in the best way. They definitely keep up on the cleaning, and are able to create a friendly atmosphere. Overall-5 Would I go back to this pizza place? 100% yes! This is going to be my go to pizza place anytime I'm in Galesburg. Everything about The Pizza House was exceptional. Friday 17th April bought a taco salad minus beans and sour cream and it was in my opinion a very tasty and fresh as well as very filling meal. If you haven't tried this yet now might be the time. read more

The food was spectacular, the service was spot on, and this restaurant was a great place to stop the day before thanksgiving. They were accommodating to our group on a short notice, and created a wonderful ambiance here. The staff was nothing short of amazing. read more

Amazing pizza and great cold beer! We wished we had got a bigger pizza because everyone loved it. The owner was working and when we shared that our great grandfather had built the building, the owner gifted my uncle a book on the history of Galesburg that had a picture of the original monument business! I stopped in for some food after working in Galesburg for the day and really enjoyed my dinner. They have public parking right across the street and I was seated right away. My server recommended a salad which I really liked and the pizza was great. Decent price and prompt service. read more

OK spinach salad, but my spaghetti was so bad that it was inedible. I ate the garlic bread, but it wasn't actually good.

Ended up here on a Monday because it was one of the few places open. We ordered the pizza burger sandwich, Italian beef sandwich, and mozzarella sticks. The sandwiches were large for half sizes but unfortunately had no taste what so ever and were incredibly bland. The mozzarella sticks were skinny, run of the mill, tasted frozen and deep fried - nothing to write home about. I ate maybe three bites of my sandwich and stopped there. The waitress didn't seem to notice or care and never asked how our food was. Maybe the pizza is better but based on our first experience we most likely won't return. read more

Our college baseball team was in town to play Knox College this weekend. Our routine is to order a dinner to feed the team and coaches the first night of the series. Dwayne, the manager, helped us select a wonderful meal of spaghetti, meatballs, baked pasta and pizzas. The team had a feast and went back for seconds and thirds. Every time I go to Pizza House I never regret it. I absolutely love the pizza and the pasta. My favorite is the large meat lovers pizza. My roommate brought home a BBQ chicken pizza for me the other day and although it took me 2 sittings to eat it all, I found it absolutely delicious! I really enjoy little restaurants like this one. Our waitress was hospitable, the food was good, and it was decently priced for portion sizes. We notice that they also make HUGE party pizzas which you have to call in a few hours in advance for, but that would be awesome for a big get together. Nice atmosphere and small town feel. This is an average pizza place. I ordered the garlic cheese bread to start. The server forgot to put in the order :( I had a small meat lovers pizza. The pizza crust is very thin, but good. The crust got fairly soggy though. The toppings were plentiful and tasted good. I just expected a little more. I would go back for a quick, cheap pizza. read more

We ordered a large sausage, pepperoni and onion pizza and a loaf of garlic bread. The garlic bread was very good, we especially like places like this that use this slightly sweet bread, similar to "LaGondola" and "Firehouse" bread. The pizza itself was just ok, could have been tastier. We liked the texture of their cracker thin crust but it wasn't especially flavorful. The cheese topping was plentiful but not overly tasty. This is not a very saucy pizza so we couldn't quite say what we thought of the sauce. I'll just say sweet or spicy didn't scream out from this pizza, more of a basic pizza sauce. The crumbled pork sausage was tasty, onions were good, pepperoni was fine. Easy ordering and curbside pick-up. All that said, we probably wouldn't order again......will keep searching the area. read more

I grew up in the area & just loved this place. Yes, the crust is thin & not cooked to make it a cracker-style, crispy crust. The toppings used to be very plentiful. Now, the sauce flavor barely comes through and the toppings are not as many as in days of yore. The side salad is just lettuce & 3 small slices of tomato & it's still $1.90 (profit is not a 4-letter word). I heard the cheesy garlic bread & taco pizza are both good. Unfortunately, I believe this itch has been scratched and I'll not return to find out. I guess I'm getting old. read more

Very disappointed. I had always looked forward to Pizza House pizza when I would come for a visit but the last few times over the last year or more have really been subpar. The ingredients seem to be lower quality and the sauce nearly nonexistent. We ordered two pizzas and an Atomic Sub on October 6th, sub was good but pizza was not. Let me make one thing clear right away: I have never had the pizza at Pizza House - I always order off their sandwich menu instead. If you want to know what the pizza is like, the other reviews will be more helpful than mine. I work nearby, and often stop in on my lunch or dinner hour. Whether it's a packed house or I'm the only one there, I'm always greeted warmly and by name (and it only took two, maybe three visits before they started, which means they are much better at remembering names than I am). I've had every sandwich on the sandwich menu at least once, and I've never been disappointed. I think the chicken ranch is my favorite, but I also like the Reuben a lot as well. I will say that the Italian beef is not a true Chicago-style Italian beef sandwich, but it's still tasty so I'm okay with that. The fries are more like big potato wedges, and they're always piping hot, freshly made, and taste great. Now that Q's is closing down, Pizza House has no competition when it comes to the friendliest service I've encountered in Galesburg. I've never had any complaints about the food, either. When a friend visited me from the Chicagoland area, he loved it as well. I definitely recommend them! read more

The food is good, primarily the pizza. The main problem I have is the amount of grease. Eat too much of this stuff and you're in for an upset stomach. In moderation it's fine though I usually just get mushroom pizza. They load it with toppings, and it taste very good. Personally, I prefer pizza hut or alfanos. read more

Delivery was fast even for peak hours on a weekend, and the dude on the phone was cordial as well. The pizza here is unique and consistent, super thin crust and wonderfully greasy the way it's been ever since I was a kid. But the rest of the food is akin to a typical greasy spoon, which I guess is great if you're looking for something that reminds you of a sack lunch Mom made. Very disappointed that posted closing time is 10 pm and we arrived at 9:30 pm. We were told that this restaurant closes at 9 pm. I did a double take on the hours of operation sign, and yes it did post 10 pm as closing. I come from a restaurant family and that means to us no new customers after 10 pm. I suggest changing the sign outside to read "Closes at 9." read more
