As we walked in, there were 3 staff members: a lady working the register, the older Korean gentleman (the presumed heart of the restaurant), and another cook. Once we placed the order, the 2 men in the back sat up and went to the fryers immediately to lock in. Fried chicken takes its time and unlike a chain like Popeyes and KFC who can have legs, breasts, and wings ready at the drop of a hat, Kokio only makes what's needed per order. This means there is a longer wait for the food. As we sat and waited for our food, multiple to-go and presumed DoorDash drivers came in and had a similar wait to us. My drink took a while to come. I had the BLACKBERRY SMASH (Crown Royal hand shaken with a hint of Bubba's 33 sweet & sour, DeKuyper Razzmatazz Liqueur, and fresh blackberries - $9). The Monte Cristo was pretty delicious. It entailed "Roasted turkey, ham, American and jack cheese on wheat bread, batter-dipped, deep-fried and dusted with powdered sugar served with raspberry preserves" ($13.99). The fire fries (Habanero seasoning) paired well with it. My oldest had a really delicious looking club sandwich with regular fries ($13.99).
