What...was that? Perhaps that's the issue. I remember what One Guy's used to be. It was formerly a place that I'd recommend to anyone visiting from out of town as a local favorite. It was a place I went when I cared less about convenience and using a coupon for some chain pizza and instead wanted something absolutely delicious. Sadly, it's not that anymore. The salad out front was decent enough, albeit pretty basic and definitely nothing special. The calzone was watery. Yes, watery. I don't even know how or why, but there was an excessive amount of watery liquid coming out of it. The pepperoni pizza was decent enough, but definitely no better than you're going to get from a chain, or (I can't believe I'm saying this) frozen. The sauce was particularly off-putting and gave me a different kind of nostalgia than I thought I would get eating here. It reminded me of eating Chef Boyardee vlin microwavable bowls as a kid. I was told that after taking the leftovers home and trying them the next day, they were even worse reheated. I didn't have that misfortune myself as I was done with it after the meal. The service was adequately good, but there was no crowd like I would have expected, and it's easy to see why. I'm fully aware of the reasons things may have gone a different direction (specifically downhill) at One Guy's and that there are now more options in town. I just hoped that this location still had some of that pizazz that made it special. Sadly, I was disappointed. read more

Grabbed dinner here during our time in Lubbock. We ordered side salads and 3 of us shared a combo pizza. The food was good - the salad had good toppings, and the pizza crust was a great texture. The service wasn't great. I think our server may have been new. I'm not in Lubbock often, so I would probably try somewhere else before returning. read more

Took my wife out on a Saturday evening to have dessert. One Guy from Italy wasn't too busy and we decided to have an appetizer as well. Their cheese sticks are delicious and the marinara is amazing. We ordered three desserts to share, but had a sudden change of plans and needed to take the order to go. We also needed extra desserts to share. My daughter was graduating from Texas Tech, so we made the trip to celebrate. Due to circumstances, we did not leave home until late in the day, which made us late in arriving in Lubbock. We checked into our VRBO, and then headed out to eat. As it was late, and with COVID running wild, the place she had picked for dinner was closed. So was the second place. That's when we decided to get pizza, and am I glad we did. This place was not nearby, but she said it was worth it. She was right:-) We drove up and found they were doing a pretty good business. Upon entering, we were greeted by the nicest young lady. She escorted us to our table, and nearly immediately, our waitress showed up. She was so nice and most helpful. We decided to split a small pizza and a Stromboli. They were delivered quickly, and our waitress suggested some dipping sauces would be the crowning touch. She got those for us quickly. We enjoyed all the food immensely but found it was too much for us to eat at that hour. Our waitress took care of our leftovers, and we got ready to depart. However, before we could leave, the manager stopped by to check on how they did. He was so nice that we ended up talking to him for about 30 minutes. During the conversation, I recommended he open 1 of these in Spring Branch. They are expanding, but not 6 hours away:-(. I wish I had written down the names of the people we engaged with. We were visiting the area and had not eaten all day. We were hungry and looked online for a pizza place. "One Guy from Italy" came up and we decided to try it. It does not look like much on the outside, but we were pleasantly surprised when We were warmly greeted by Chastity and taken to our table. We asked if they could do an all meat crustless pizza (I expected her to look at me like I had 3 heads). She replied professionally "we can do a crustless Calzone". Boy! Was I surprised! We ordered as suggested and I must say that it was quite tasty! If you are looking for a Keto friendly Italian restaurant, this one is for you! The pizzas I had delivered were good and were a good temperature. The only complaint that I have is that the veggies like the mushrooms and Jalapeños were the canned or jar variety not fresh. I stopped by One Guy from Italy on a recommendation from a friend during a cross country road trip, and it was WORTH IT. I didn't order ahead, just walked up to order to-go. I had a pretty simple pizza, cheese with black olives. The to-go service was friendly, polite, and all employees were wearing masks. It didn't take too long waiting inside for my to-go order, and they have benches you can sit on. I felt pretty safe for most of the time inside. I will say that the wait staff didn't really adhere to social distancing specifically with customers. When I was in one area of the restaurant waiting for my order, a couple of waitresses chose to stand very close to me to gossip about whatever was going on during their shift. I ended up moving and it is a big enough space that it wasn't an issue. Most dine-in customers were not wearing masks. I took the pizza to-go, and it was DELICIOUS! Their crust has the perfect amount of crispiness on the outside, with a chewy inside. My only mistake was not ordering something a little more exciting, I'm sure it would have been delicious! Everything tasted really fresh, and overall I thought it was awesome. I will make a point to end up in Lubbock again someday just to visit this restaurant again! read more

The reviews seem good so here we are We were seated and waited on immediately. Our meals came with soup or salad we had one each. My chicken and rice soup was delicious. Hubby said his Cesar salad was very good as well. I ordered the chicken Saltimbacca it was scrumptious!! Hubs ordered the lasagna which was also very yummy. There is so much food left over we will be eating for a couple days.
