I have always been weary of trying Domo due to never seeing any customers when I pass by! I was craving sushi and wanted to be able to stay in my car, so going to Domo's drive through is the plan! Staff were friendly and service was extremely quick, although I was the only customer so that is expected. I ordered a small fried rice which was larger than expected for less than $4. It is a very basic rice, with egg and seasonings. It gets the job done, but is nothing spectacular. Same for my avocado roll. The avocado was generally fresh, with minimal dark coloring. It was well rolled and tasted just fine, but again wasn't anything crazy. Food comes with soy sauce, you can add Domo sauce (their version of Yum Yum sauce) for an extra fee. I do appreciate that they ask if you want wasabi and ginger, as I never eat either. Domo wouldn't be my first choice for Sushi in Muncie, but I would definitely go again based of the convenience of the location and the drive thru. read more

Food was hot but not exactly as described. I ordered fried rice with shrimp. I received two very large fried shrimp and white rice. We had takeout so I don't know about the ambience. The person who picked up the food sad that they were the only one in line and she had to wait for a considerable amount of time & this was after we called in the order prior to picking up. read more

Japanese drive-thru? Craziness that works. My order included: dumplings, the crunch roll (with cream cheese added!), an order of spicy chicken with noodles and fried rice, and grilled teriyaki chicken with noodles and fried rice. I did wait quite a bit more than a normal drive thru, but I had a large order and everything was very fresh. I loved the fried rice, but my chicken was dry. The sauce on it was yummy and made up for it. My sushi roll was amazing! The dumplings had yummy crisp edges. I'm super satisfied with my order from DoMo and can't wait to come back! read more

My family and I were regulars at the old Domo to the point that the owners knew us when we walked in. That only adds to the immense disappointment in this new fast food version. Bland food, rubbery chicken, nothing that tastes even close to the same as the old place. Add to that the fact that the prices are still about the same as they were at lunch at the hibachi version and it means less food, awful quality, same price. I've gone back 4 times now just hoping that they had listened to feedback and made changes but it's just...bad. Don't go. Nothing is good here. They don't include wasabi, gari or soy with your roll. If you don't ask specifically, you don't get it. Drive up menu has sauces listed without price as if to imply they're included but they charge .50 a piece for little 1 oz cups. Dumplings were overcooked and again, no sauce. Rice is overcooked. The people who run this place barely seem to care for the customers anymore. I will never return. read more

I went to Domo regularly about a decade ago when I lived in Muncie, and every time I travel back to Indiana, I have driven the extra miles just to visit Domo. When I found out the format changed to be fast-served, drive-through style hibachi, I was skeptical... because I loved it SO much before. I've now been back twice, and love the new format. I love traditional hibachi, but this totally works and I'm enjoying the food just as much. Same tasty noodles (my favorite!), a good quantity of food, very fair pricing for the quality and amount you get, and a good amount of variety on the menu. Plus you can get sushi in a drive through!! Let me start by saying I am not one who goes around giving bad reviews. But I feel so passionately about how awful this was that I i can't in good conscience let anyone go here without being Warned. We were so excited to try this place out. Came in around 5:00p and it wasn't busy at all. The picture on the menu looked good as it showed sauced chicken with all sorts of veggies mixed in. There were 4 of us and we all ordered meals, upgraded at least 1 side, and ordered a California roll. The total was $65. Crazy but if the food was good I would be okay with it right? WRONG. First of all, the chicken had no veggies. You got a few pieces of onion, that was it. The teriyaki chicken had no teriyaki flavor at all. And I am not quite sure how they did it since it was in some kind of sauce, but it was like eating the most dry pieces of chicken you can imagine. The fried rice was subpar and the noodles were greasy. The sweet and sour chicken had no real sauce and tasted just as awful. The spicy chicken was the same dry chicken with maybe a buffalo type sauce on it? We each at one bite of each thing on our plates, placed it back on the tray, and returned it to the counterr. They could have cared less. We ended up going next door to LJS for carry out. If Japanese is really what you are after, save your money and go to Ninja of Japan where the food is always good. I was really looking forward to trying out the new DoMo and was completely disappointed. I ordered the spicy chicken and it was tough to chew and drizzled in what tasted like buffalo sauce. I really thought it would be like hibachi and it was not. No veggies with the rice or noodles. Everything was bland and really didn't taste like much. I also ordered the dumplings which were very chewy and also had no real flavor. The only thing I really enjoyed were the sauces. The DoMo sauce was very good and the dumpling sauce as well. I don't think I will be going back ever. For $30 something dollars for two meals and five dumplings I was very dissatisfied. I think I will just stick with Ninja of Japan if I am wanting Japanese cuisine. read more

Welp. I tried and it was not worth it. Never went to the other location, but I heard decent things. Went through the drive thru and order the Teriyaki Shrimp with Shrimp Fried Rice. Teriyaki Shrimp combo was not horrible. However, when you charge $5.50 for fried rice and TWO fried shrimp on top, that is a problem. Was not memorable and probably will not go back. read more

Major disappointment. I absolutely loved DoMo on Granville when it was a traditional hibachi and sushi restaurant, but my first and maybe last time at this revamped version was subpar. Think of an overpriced and less good Panda Express with sushi; that's what this has become. Next to empty on a Saturday at 6:00 PM too, which should have said something. We had hibachi and sushi. The sushi was fine, but the classic DoMo roll was not fresh and warm how you would get it at the other location. Like it had been pre made. The hibachi vegetables were undercooked and the chicken was bland. The fried rice tasked like it was previously frozen or something and had your typical strip mall Chinese place frozen vegetable medley; nothing like the old DoMo's hibachi rice. $50 for two people, about what it would've cost at the previous location. Definitely not worth it for what it is. I urge the owners to save the other location why they still can, even operate both, because I don't think your old customers are very thrilled about what you've become. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I asked what the spicy tuna role was and the cashier had no clue. She asked the chef and he said that it had tuna in it. Very descriptive! I ordered it thinking it would be a surprise. What came out was canned tuna surrounded by rice. It reminded me more of cat food than sushi. I ate one role and threw it away. The dumplings were also so hard I could have taken them outside and practiced my slap shot with them. I will NEVER recommend this place and I will never return. Fuji , down the street, is the only place to get decent sushi it feels like. read more

Usually eat at Domo once a week and happy with it, but our latest outing included a sushi roll with cucumber that tasted rotten. When my girlfriend and I called in the Sushi Chef was very rude and ending up hanging up the phone on her, will not be dinning here in the future. read more

My family and I typically eat here once or twice a week. It's usually good food but this last time we went in, the cucumber was spoiled and it was so bad!!! We called in to talk to someone and no one answered for almost 5 minutes. When they finally answered, I explained the situation and the owner/ sushi chef argued with me then hung up on me! Horrible experience! I was so excited to try a new sushi restaurant but this was the worst meal of my life. My sushi tasted like it have been microwaved, my dumplings were hard to chew, the customer service was not good either. Employees were less than happy to help when trying to order.
