    Italian Grinder

I loved this little spot. The staff was so nice! It was like cheers in there. Everybody seemed to know each other. I ordered and Italian grinder and absolutely loved it! I was only in town 3 days and I ate it twice. Prices are surprisingly low! Super pleased with this place!!

Looks can be deceiving... Thought this pizza was going to be pretty good but it was tasteless and bland. It was like eating glue. The employees looked like overwhelmed young students. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

A very good friend of mine couldn't wait for me to try this place after she painted such a delicious sounding picture! It was well worth the field trip to Muncie! I ordered the Italian Grinder sandwich (minus green peppers) to go! We opted to wait inside and take a peek at the adjoining sweet shop! They offered sundaes, milk shakes and ice cream sandwiches. Unfortunately, we were saving room for the grinder so we skipped dessert. I did however make a note of their fall feature: Maple Cranberry ice cream. Back to the sandwich! It was fantastic and huge- more than enough for two adults. The bread was super fresh and only lightly toasted which I liked. The ingredients were super flavorful and required a lot of napkins! I will say it's not an overly stuffed sandwich but we were happy with it. The staff was very kind and courteous. Will most definitely return!

I had my first meal here yesterday afternoon. I purchased the seafood and crab 16 inch grinder. Best meal I ever ordered! Staff was so friendly! Place was tidy and clean. I loved it so much I came back for dinner and got the same thing! I plan on eating here for lunch today. A+ place.

Would not recommend the au jus here, especially not to go.

Give it a try, you won't regret it. The sandwich is messy, could do with some mayo on it, in my opinion. But it's good! You just might end up with some on your face. =) And you can't mess up a cookie, and they definitely didn't. It's really rich & perfectly crispy on the edges.

The ordering process when doing a half pizza IS CONFUSING and I don't understand how I ordered what I did but then i realized toppings were missing from my pizza so I called back to say at this point it definitely deserves to be remade and i was told they were out. Then after that I proceeded to ask why I wasn't made aware and I was hung up on. I'd love to be able to leave zero stars, even negative stars would be great;) Pizza really isn't all that bad but the tasteless people to go along with it make it not worth the late nite bite. I'd rather go to Mickeyds on tillotson on a busy college Friday night and sit in a 2 hour drive thru line than deal with people like that. Obviously his issues he was having with the computer system were being taken out on costumers... pretty unprofessional and all I wanted was a remade pizza that shouldn't have been to much to ask but he went above and beyond to be rude and disrespectful.

As our weekend wound down, we all decided we wanted to go out for a special dinner. The suggestion came to check out Ron Lahody's Trust Your Butcher Steakhouse. It's about four blocks, easily within walking distance for most and with street parking around for those not able to walk that distance, from the Courtyard and I have to admit I was in for something a bit more premium. Lahody grew up around the meat business, though entered it a bit later after some time in the Marines, graduating from Ball State, working in the family business, and then spending 22 years in home remodeling. Finally, he opened Lahody meats in 2008 and then years later made it to the actual steakhouse business. Lahody still owns Lahody Meats in Muncie, recently opened a steakhouse in Anderson, and yet this spot is the original. As a wheelchair user, I was definitely looking for something wheelchair friendly. Downtown Muncie tends to be older and you can never be certain. I'd gone wheeling around the area the day before and was pretty sure this would be safe. We made our reservation for the end of our work day and then headed over to the steakhouse. I instantly fell in love with the place. It's intimate yet finely decorated. It has the traditional steakhouse vibe with a wood, warm environment, a nicely done bar area, and a couple spots that were clearly made for accessibility. We were placed in one of those booth/tables - small yet nicely sized and none of us ever felt over-cramped. I sat at the end of the booth while my friends took the inside seats. Our server, whose name I have unfortunately forgotten, was wonderful from beginning to end. The young woman was very friendly and helpful. Service was nicely paced, attentive, and never intrusive. It's worth noting that while you can eat somewhat modestly here, and they do have specials, this really is a higher-end steakhouse designed for premium dining. We ordered a couple appetizers at $15 each - candied bacon and green tomatoes. I had never tried candied bacon and kind of fell in love with it. My two peers enjoyed the green tomatoes. My peers enjoyed alcohol, a couple brews each with a solid variety available, and I enjoyed my usual unsweetened iced tea. We all ordered steaks, a definite rarity for me. One peer went for filet mignon. Myself and the other for a New York Strip. You get two sides with a steak. I saw they had roasted potatoes, an absolute favorite of mine, and I doubled an order for my two sides. Lahody himself was in-house. He's an older gent, silver-haired yet impeccably dressed. He was introducing himself to customers and sitting at the end of the bar when I left. When he thanked you for coming, the gratitude felt sincere. Service? Top-notch. Accessibility? I didn't visit the restroom, however, everything was accessible and comfortable. The steak? Oh my, I haven't had a steak this good in a long time. It was cooked as ordered and prepared beautifully. The roasted potatoes were nicely seasoned and simply sublime. This was a definite splurge for me, however, as we were celebrating finishing up a non-profit film it felt like a beautiful way to celebrate with friends in an environment where I felt welcome. There's no question I'll return.
