We both loved them .They came on a thin cracker type crust, my favorite, sauce was sparingly applied but tasty, and the Italian sausage on my pizza had wonderful flavor with just a light kick to it. I am not a fan of "square" cut and request mine to be cut "pie", the traditional way to serve pizza. My Italian Sausage was spicy, the sauce had zing to it and there was plenty of jalapeños. The jalapeños even had some crunch to them, which tells me, they were fresh. Then of course, the mozzarella cheese was plentiful on top of everything. The website was user friendly and when I arrived, the young ladies working the front counter were friendly and polite. Good pizza and friendly service will have me ordering pick-up again. You most certainly did have a cauliflower crust and I ordered it and it was horrible.

Pironne's is celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, so I was kinda expecting... I dunno... something extra when I walked in the door (I think I'm going to have to find a dinner companion for these jaunts, just to go with so people don't look at me like I'm weird (which yes, I'm taking a point off for). Walked in and the sign warned me they're short-handed, so I expect a little time between stuff. Anyway, I'm by myself and the kid at the wait station kinda makes it known (Just "One"? Okay.) You could tell he didn't want to be there that night, but honestly, I'm not sure anyone did (as it was still roasting outside and this place is cooled by fans about 15 feet in the air... it was hot and stuffy inside (despite it being a non-busy night). Come on guys, I know we're wanting to be an Italian restaurant, but it's still America: Air conditioning please! Waitress is quick over to the table. No sweet tea in the restaurant, unsweet only (And this foodie is having a sad day at this restaurant to start.). Okay, Root beer it is.. I gotta say the sampler's not bad and the Tomato/meat sauce is pretty darn good (made everything on the sampler plate better than just "breaded Italian food" (so I'm giving a HAPPY point here). But the heat wave still going on, but at least a different waitress sees I'm needing Root Beer #3! But now we have to take a point away. I'm still working through the appetizers but I set them to the side "AWAY" from the main floor.. so if you have to get over them you have to go through my eating, when introductory staff guy comes over and starts to pick up one of the bowls I've still got sauce in and food on my plate. (Do you really want me out THAT Bad?), but I was nice and motioned to him not yet.. so i didn't make him feel too bad, I think (I can be a nice old man at times :P).. And the waitress is back to take my order and Root Beer #4, and we'll do a "pizza" and since she didn't pick, Supreme. At this time I would point out all their specialty pizzas were about the same price (by size) and "DIY" came out to like $2 more if you added the same number of toppings. SO we're watching the root beer slowly disappear again. cause this was the step that took a while (getting the pizza), but here's where I'm going to be nice, because this pizza was... actually good. Not sure if it was the sausage or what, but it did salvage the meal. Oh and there was a rootbeer #5 somewhere during the Pizza eating time, that I kinda of lost track of. So on to the report card! Food: 3/5 (again, whatever meat on the pizza was used and the appetizer meat/tomato sauce saved it from being ordinary) Cost:; Again, probably more than i was expecting, but this time i will say it was due in part to higher than expected pricing for pizzas. Again if it had been with a friend, splitting costs, not so bad, but for a dinner of 1.. Little more expensive than i'd hoped. Service: Even though the kid obviously didn't want to be there and the staff was stretched thin, so mot the best night of service (2/5) Ambience: This is the United States, lack of a/c kinda just ruined most of the evening IMO (and the single runs of luck I'm having).. 2/5) But hey I probably my root-beer quota for the day.. so no winners/no losers this time around. So in my esteemed morale of the story: Make sure you're with a friend to split the costs, and in the end, a solid pizza that isn't enough to take the restaurant to 4*, but a decent 3-star Oh yeah and remember if you're going in the heatwave.. dress cool! My new adult beverage of choice was a, Sapphire Gin and Tonic. I've been gradually switching from vodka to gin and this was a smooth and refreshing cocktail. I was craving scallops my favorite seafood, but did not want the entree that comes with, lobster risotto. So I ventured out and tried the, Shrimp & Scallops with Portobello Mushrooms and Asparagus. It was sautéed in butter, garlic, shallots, red chili flakes and lemon. It was then served over a bed of linguine. I may have found a new favorite dish. Or at least, a new dish added to my rotation. I loved how four toppings were kept separate from each other. The three sea scallops satisfied my craving, the asparagus was prepared with a snap to it, the four shrimp were huge and the mushrooms balanced out the dish. The chili flakes, gave the dish an extra kick, that I really liked. Kept my salad the same as always, House Salad with House Dressing. The service at the bar was excellent. The bartenders are always friendly and professional. I like that they have a food server and a designated bus person behind the bar, so the mixologist can focus on making those refreshing cocktails.

Our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive. She proactively kept us updated when there was a slight delay and checked on us throughout the meal without being intrusive. The restaurant itself was beautifully themed, and everything felt well thought out and cohesive. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and would gladly return.

A while back when I went in for my regular fix of a Pork Tenderloin Sandwich, the waitress asked me if I ever tried the grilled. When I said, no, she told me I had to give it a try. So, I did and now it is my way of ordering a Pork Tenderloin Sandwich. The piece of grilled meat is as big as the fried. It hangs off the bun. All you need to add is some white onion, pickles and lettuce. Some add a tomato, but that's not my thing. Also, just like when I enjoy a fried Pork Tenderloin, I upgrade to fries. Chips just don't do it for me. The service is always top notch. The ladies working are always so friendly. They make everyone feel comfortable while dining. Jimmy taught his staff well. I miss him always being there, but the ladies are making sure his legacy lives on. Another big plus when you come to, Johnsons Corner is the other patrons.It truly is a neighborhood bar. The Bosco Stick was warm and filled with gooey cheese. It reminded me so much of the Bosco Sticks I would eat as a child. The meat sauce was a great addition to use as a dip and wasn't too meaty. I ordered a medium pizza with extra cheese, jalapeños, and mushrooms. It was so good! The pizza came out about 25 minutes after ordering and satiated my pizza craving! Roma's is nothing fancy, however, it is a comfortable environment with delicious and affordable food. Next time I am in town, I will have to come back!

For a appetizer, I chose their Boneless Wings with a Garlic Parmesan sauce. I knew I wouldn't be able to eat all 12 pieces, so I now have a work lunch. My entree was their pizza special which gave me a side salad and a 8" two topping pizza. My go to topping are always, Italian Sausage and Jalapeños. I absolutely love Joe's sauce and the fast that he uses Mozzarella cheese. I am also thrilled that he does not skimp on his toppings. I left 3 slices for tomorrows lunch, too. Godfrey is my usual Joe's location, but I will also frequent this location. This location is located in Eastgate Plaza which is quickly becoming a popular restaurant and entertainment complex.
