Installed "luxury vinyl planking" in our living room and kitchen last July. After about 3 or 4 months we started to notice a crack in one of the planks, and in another area of the living room, the seams between the planks seem to be warped upwards... tried to contact the Sales Person without any success. After leaving a message through their website, the sales person called us and tried to set up an appointment so he can come by and take a look at the problems in early Nov. However, there's always an excuse of pushing off the appointment to "next week", then we would not hear from him for two weeks before he called again and tried to set up something for " next week"............And, here we are now May, 2020, in the middle of the pandemic.... and stuck with crappy floor. read more

I went with Don Bailey to re floor my entire house based on the great reviews that I read online. However my experience has been troublesome and I'd like to warn potential clients of how they operate: They do not install floors. They send you to a third party, making it seem that its them but in reality you are left dealing with an external company who asks for complete payment even when the project is not finished. This is what happened: Their installer came into my home to take measurements three times and now that the project is close to completion, they realized they are missing a couple of step downs. I asked for the product to be purchased from Don Bailey, but their installer wants to source the material elsewhere to close the project and get paid this week. When I called Don Bailey's project manager to ask if this is normal or how to proceed, Im told that the project is actually being handled entirely by the installer and that I should deal with him directly, completely washing their hands even though they were the ones that put everything together and received payment for both material and the installer. After a lot of fighting, i was able to get the floor i wanted. But their business model allows them to take no responsibility. Buyer beware read more

I had to replace the old laminate to luxury waterproof vinyl in my condo in Miami Beach. I stopped in here looking for hardwood options for my Midtown Miami condo. On an afternoon weekday, the place was virtually dead. A guy I believe to be Don Bailey himself was seated at a desk like a Dickensian grump. I told him what I was looking for (a luxurious hardwood in a neutral tone), and he kept trying to push me toward laminate--which I did not want! He was all, "We don't have what you're looking for!" which seemed just very unhelpful. The small hardwood selection they DID have was the same every other hardwood seller in the area has. I asked him about some higher-end options, and he told me he what I saw was what he could help me with. High-tailed it out of there and went to Catalfamo in Ft. Lauderdale instead. Great company for flooring. We got our 3 bedrooms redone by them with hardwood laminate and couldn't be more happy. They were very nicely priced, did the job on time and on budget and they were clean and professional. Not much amusing antidotes I can add about flooring except that the delivery guy who dropped off the materials two days prior to installation (so the flooring adjusted to our house) drove up in the big truck with their trademark naked Don Bailey on the side. We joked about how much crap he must get driving the truck. I dealt with Deb Hinson there and she was a joy to work with. I recently bought my first place-- a 740 square foot condo in Hollywood. I'm super psyched about it but who knew that such a small space was going to require so many decisions and cost so much money?! I met with Don Bailey himself today to talk about flooring. After a long day at work, Don was an absolute gem. His soft spoken voice and ability to work through every step of the way was wonderful. He refused to sell me anything that was of low quality and steered me towards options of quality and value. I ended up rummaging through their "scraps" and finding the perfect carpet for the bedroom in new place. I also ended up getting 12mm laminate for the living area at an excellent rate. I have had the pleasure of working with Karen on three projects since fall of 2018. In each instance, I gave her the impossible -- I selected a limited availability item and a super tight time-frame for delivery and installation. She hit home-runs each time. I told her that it was so refreshing to finally meet someone who was in the Business of Providing Solutions, not just selling a product. Karen is super high-touch, she would check-in multiple times a day to provide proactive updates, and during installation, she would come herself to ensure quality compliance. Prior to beginning any work, she walked me through what to expect, as well as what my alternatives were that I may or may not have considered on my own. The latter was particularly appealing to me, because it showed that Karen could put my interests first and educate me in what other options were available to me. I am extremely happy that my interior designer steered me towards Don Bailey Flooring. I was looking for a high quality carpet to place in two bedrooms in an apartment and had a limited budget. I arrived equipped with a $35 printout of a measure that I'd had done through Home Depot and Gus walked me through all of my options. After we found a couple he called to make sure that they had enough in stock (I wanted quick installation) and then informed me that he'd send his guys out to measure the next morning. I did not understand why as I already had a measure and he explained that since it was limited stock that we had to make absolutely sure that there was enough. They measurers (super polite and professional) showed up the next day with their tape measures -- and unlike Mr. Home Depot with his fancy laser/computer measurements they quickly ascertained that H.D. had not calculated an extremely large walk-in closet. That changed everything. There was not enough of the carpet in stock for a quick install but Gus called all of the other stores and found enough to do the closet. This was all on Tuesday and the carpet was installed on Friday morning. In addition Gus was pro-active and called the building manager in order to supply all necessary licenses and insurance BEFORE we had even finished the deal. There was, of course, a problem with the management office and it was solved graciously and quickly. This saved huge amounts of time and stress on all sides. The guys showed up to install the carpet on time and were extremely polite and professional. I continuously expected something to go wrong but it didn't. They were out a couple of hours later and left the place super clean. These are my "go-to" guys now for flooring. I'm already looking forward to the next project! Gus, you are a trooper! I am absolutely disgusted with this company. They installed vinyl plank flooring in my establishment over the Thanksgiving break in 2013. Initially, this company gave me problems by trying to overcharge me for the installation. Not only did they try to charge me 50% more than the original agreed on price, they failed to install the appropriate vinyl base around the perimeter. Now, six months later, the floor is a complete mess. The planks are starting to peel and come loose from the adhesive. There are areas where the pieces are completely loose and just floating in their spot. The edges of the pieces have started to curl and shrink, causing gaps in the areas between the planks where there should be none. We have a constant flow of customers that encounter this mess on a daily basis. Not only is it embarrassing, it is dangerous for people to walk on. Many pieces are so high off the ground they cause people to trip, creating an unsafe environment for our customers. Just a few months ago, installers were coming in to patch problem areas in random spots. Now, the floor is unusable. This is unacceptable business practice when it is your business' ONLY service. This is what you do. This is ALL you do. And you can't even get it right? Not even the second, third, fourth and countless other times?
