Remodeling can be a pain. And while often times it takes a really long time to finish certain projects, when you have that final product, it's all worth it. I had various projects (not associated with JV) in the works. Before I got any of them underway, I had to get the floors changed. I contacted JV through the request a quote feature on Yelp and got someone to come give me a quote the next day. I got various quotes and JV came in with one of the more affordable options. Paired with the great reviews, I went with them. I stopped by their office to checkout some samples, picked the floors and scheduled a date. The removal of my previous floor was a pain. It was nailed down. It took a team of three an entire day to remove it. They weren't expecting this, but they did all the extra work, no extra cost. They came back a few days Later and did the Installation. My house instantly has a new look and feel. Loved it. As I started on the other projects I noticed the flooring in the kitchen was really messing up. Every time I stepped it made a noise, and it kept getting worse. I called Jose and he had one of his guys come in and check it out. Turns out the weight of the new kitchen cabinets put too much stress on the floor and made the hinges crack. He scheduled a time a few days later to remove that floor, and put in some new pieces to correct it. In just one hour they removed the damaged pieces, installed the new ones, and left my kitchen squeak free. Again, at no additional cost. After Talking to JV Floors I Decided to hire them based on what I thought at the time was a fair price for Waterproof Vinyl Planks and the promise of being able to replace all of the flooring in my 2/2 1/2 Townhouse. First of all the workers were always late and sometimes didn't ever show up (Despite them knowing that I took off work to be there). The work was extremely subpar, some Pieces of the floor were damaged or stained even before they were placed, the thresholds were crooked and the stairs looked awful. After Complaining to Jose (The Owner) he sent a different crew of people over to fix the poor work of the others, this went on for over a month. Its been about 4-5 months now since we got the floors installed and our kitchen floor is already coming up it shifts when you walk on it and the gaps are getting bigger by the day. Jose of JV Wood Floors came to give me an estimate and I was immediately impressed because of the 6 estimates I got he was the only one to bring samples in. Than he used a lacer measuring device that was set up to calculate the square footage. Others only used it to gather the numbers and had to hand calculate. I called Jose on a Tuesday, later in the afternoon, and he picked up right away. He asked a few questions about the service I was interested in and was ready to come out the next day to provide an estimate. He also sent me a few pictures of the product he recommended. When he came for the estimate, he brought a bunch of samples and provided a quote half the price of Home Depot and much less than the guys Floor & Decor recommended. A week after my estimate, his guys came out to do my flooring. Wish i could say what a tremendous job he did, as some of the pictures and work on here looks great, but that isn't the case we never got that far. His Customer service is pathetic, i don't think he runs on any kind of schedule and i don't understand how he even runs his operation. After trying to get in contact 3 days in a row he finally answered and scheduled with me to show up the next day between 1 and 2pm. The following day i sent him a heads up that i arrived to the home at 12:55 that i will be standing by, at this point is when he tells me a story about the Venezuelan Crisis is affecting his day and he will not be showing up, I can almost guarantee if i never sent a follow up text he would've never contacted me with a heads up that he was not going to make it. He apologized and asked if i will be free the next day, that i will be his first call once he starts, That was yesterday Sunday 2/24/19. Im still waiting for that call. * Further more business owner replied to call my review dishonest, I have all the call logs and text needed to show who's being dishonest. Im so happy we decided to go with JV flooring! After getting estimates and looking around for a dependable flooring company I gave JV floors a call. Within the hour Jose returned my call and we set up an appointment for the next day. Jose came over with tons of samples of different laminate styles and gave us a free no commitment estimate. He showed us different styles and gave us both economical and more expensive options. After careful thought, we decided to go with a 12 mm laminate which came with premium floor pad. The estimate included installation of floorboards,Laminate and removal of our old floor boards which were tile. The guys came over three business days later and moved all furniture and almost completed our entire upstairs as well as our stairway. They would have finished the job in one day but One of the boxes came damaged from the warehouse so they promised to return the next day. We did not make payment until everything was complete and we were satisfied. The next day one of the guys came over and finished up the work as well as took care of some minor damages that occurred while moving furniture to our walls. We are very pleased with the work and the amount of time that they took to complete it. I definitely would recommend Jose and his company to any friends and family. Jose and his team were very professional and on time. He Addressed all of our concerns and questions before getting our business and remained in contact with us throughout the entire process. It was not the expected job or result we wanted. They were always late. We installed the floor 6 months ago and reached out to them now because it began to feel hollow and sounds when stepping in because they did not fill it with cement or level it at all after having removed the previous floor. We asked for a new quote a few weeks ago and it took a while for them to come in and check the floor and the solution given was only to repair 2 or 3 areas when in reality the entire apartment had to be leveled and fixed. In sum They installed and finished the floor a week after we were told and knew extra work was need it but they did not tell us. We ended up paying more money for a complete new floor with another company which in fact did all the leveling and installation in the correct way and within a reasonable time frame read more
