I'm visiting a friend in St. Cloud, and she recommended Taco Chon for lunch. She said their birria tacos were really good. So I had to try them for myself. Boy was she right! They weren't super greasy, like other birria tacos I've had, but they were delish and PACKED with meat! We also ordered a side of chips and queso, and their white queso sauce is also delish! Not sure how anyone can confuse Taco Chon with Taco John's. This place is fresh and tasty. Very friendly service. The steak street tacos are so good. (Make sure you squeeze the lime) Pinto beans are tasty too. Recently had the Chimichanga with the pork carnitas. Again very fresh and delicious. My favorite Mexican restaurant to go to. Coming from california it is hard to find decent Mexican food in Minnesota but Taco Chons really fills that craving and the kids love it. Azada fries are to die for and the birria taco plate is delicious and a deal. read more

Counter service with seating available. Quite busy, even in the middle of the afternoon. We had a barbacoa macheton & barbacoa quesadilla, both which were good. Like traditional Mexican food we've had, the spice comes from adding salsas, not the meat itself. In other words, if you don't like spice, just eat it plain. When I spend $15 for a drink that is extremely and the lady tried to charge me for another drink I never ordered. The portions were very small for what I paid. I'm not very happy for what they were trying to do or they were trying get over me as far I'm concern I will never go back after what happened. I was very happy after I ate at Taco Chon the first time. Finally good Mexican food in St. Cloud. I ate there 2 more times after that and it was really tasty. But, then I placed an order online and was very sad. I ordered the Taco combo, the tacos were okay, but there was about a Tablespoon of beans and hardly any rice. My sister ordered Enchiladas and was given only 2 when there should have been 3. I guess you need to check your order B4 you leave to make sure it is correct. read more

We were on our way to Leech Lake from Chicago and just happened to find this restaurant on google after stopping for gas nearby....saw a picture someone else posted of the quesabirria (tacos de birria) and we had to stop by....It was so good! I've been traveling to Minnesota for the the last 7 years from Chicago (for the holidays) and it's rare to find food that tastes like home (my family is from MX & living Chicago).
