When I came to pick up my return, I was asked to sign paperwork at the front desk to file my taxes, but there was still no discussion of the total cost or breakdown of services. The CPA did not personally explain anything and remained in his office while staff handled the transaction. I was charged $500, which was much higher than expected for a straightforward return. I would have appreciated clear communication about pricing before any work was started so I could make an informed decision. I'm sharing this so others know to ask for a written fee agreement upfront before using this service.
